"Guava Digital Asset Exchange is Nigeria’s premier digital asset marketplace where you can safely buy, sell and exchange Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple. 5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Paper Wallet on: February 13, 2019, 02:21:11 PM
There are two sets of people who could do this: newbies and traders.

Newbies are not so adept at using wallets outside of an exchange and it's preferable for them to store their bitcoins with an exchange. Wallets are of course complicated, especially the concepts of private keys.

Traders, of course, need to have some bitcoins on an exchange in order to be able to carry out trades as fast as possible.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ripple and XRP Guide for Investors on: January 04, 2019, 03:19:19 PM
Every year, people in emerging markets like Nigeria, Brazil and India drive the global remittance market worth over 600 billion dollars last year. In 2018, global remittances are estimated at $642 billion.

According to the World Bank, Nigeria topped other African recipients with $22.3 billion in 2017. The total remittance to Africa was $37.8 billion that same year.

Ripple has announced several partnerships with different remittance companies. It recently signed on InstaReM and RationalFX. These are two major digital cross-border payments companies. InstaReM could open up cheaper and faster alternatives to transfer money from the United Kingdom to Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Also, it established partnerships with Remitr and the Nigerian Fintech start-up, FlutterWave, to enable payments to Nigeria from Canada - the first connection on RippleNet in Africa.

I think Ripple has to do more with Africa. Africa is one of the continents with major remittance issues. Trying to send money to/and out of some African countries is as difficult as finding water in the desert -- it's just too expensive.

If Ripple can build more partnerships in African and Asian countries, this could drive up the adoption of XRP and as a result the price of the asset.

To learn more about the connection between XRP and Ripple, read this investors' guide.

Hello, this is the owner of the exchange introducing the exchange here: https://medium.com/guavaexchange/introducing-guava-58a523f64cec

The company is registered in Nigeria. You can research the name here: http://publicsearch.cac.gov.ng/ComSearch/index.php. Search for Guava Digital Assets

Any other questions, you can go ahead and ask. Thanks

Now I see that you are the owner of exchange

https://twitter.com/akhanaton

But your exchange has a low volume and is not listed in the coinmarketcap, I suggest you browse the altcoins section and list good altcoins, because then you will start to have customers.

here is the altcoins section:

Announcements (Altcoins)

Thank you very much. I agree we have low volume for now but that's because we just launched. We want to focus on Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple for now. However, we would be adding new assets in the coming weeks (these are exciting assets that we also believe in). Trust I'll keep you informed about our development in the coming weeks. And we are already working on getting listed on CoinMarketCap too.

Do inform your Nigerian friends about us  Wink Smiley

Cheers

I am from Africa and in my country there are many Nigerians, but I doubt that any of those Negerians who are in my country ever heard of bitcoin or about exchanges. I suppose less than 2% of people in my country know about bitcoin and exchanges. unfortunately cryptos are not yet widely used worldwide and in African countries wiil be very difficult for cryptos to be accepted by governments

Yeah, there are still so many people in African countries who haven't heard about bitcoin before. And I think bitcoin is most beneficial for us here in Africa because of the inefficient financial system we still have. I think the challenge is to get more people educated about how to safely use bitcoin and other crypos. I believe the government might not have a choice but to accept it if a lot of merchants and people start accepting cryptocurrencies.

I found those information here which maybe accurate with most of the sites.

Having 2 factor authentification doesn't ensure full securtiy to our funds it can only restrict the suers from login to accounts.

Still not enough social engagement on twitter and medium so in my opinion still it is ricky to deposit.

I just went to the link you suggested now, and it says the site is safe to use. I already gave you the physical address of the company itself too.

The Exchange is new, so you can't expect that much engagement on social channels yet.

If you searched for one of the biggest crypto exchanges in Nigeria on scamadviser like Luno. You'll see that their servers are also not located in Nigeria. Because you run an exchange in Nigeria doesn't mean your server has to be there. Nigeria doesn't even have the infrastructure to accommodate that.

And also the IP registered is from Germany? So who is the real owner.

No social engagement,No contact details and site with estimated worth of $9,so I won't deposit any money here.

And where did you get all this information from, please? I already provided the link where the owner introduced the exchange himself: https://medium.com/guavaexchange/introducing-guava-58a523f64cec

The company is registered in Nigeria and caters to Nigerians. The Exchange is only one arm of the business. The company also engages in the education of Nigerians about cryptoassets.

The social media channels for the exchange are:
Twitter: https://twitter.com/guavaexchange
Facebook: https://twitter.com/guavaexchange

The contact details of the company are on Google Business. Search for Guava Exchange on Google you will see the contact and address details of the business there.

Thank you

Also, to assure you of the security of your assets, the Exchange has two authentification procedures: Google Auth and Email Auth. There are very few exchanges in Nigeria that offer such protection.

There are other security measures that the Exchange has put in place, you can read more here: https://guava.africa/en/security

PS: I wonder where you saw the estimated cost of the site though.

For the media section, you should check this https://blog.guava.africa/ out to see if it contains good content about cryptocurrencies. It's owned by one of the newest digital asset exchange in Nigeria. The blog mostly writes in-depth guides on investing in Bitcoin and other cryptoassets. I'll advise to start with this article: https://blog.guava.africa/investing-bitcoin-nigeria/
Thanks, I added ther blog to the media section. Contents are a bit "standard", but OK (the article you linked is one of the better ones). It seems Guava has still not started operations, so I'll wait to add them into the "Exchanges" list until they start. If you're related to them, you're welcome to post here when they launch.

Guava Exchange has started operations in Nigeria now, you can check them out: https://guava.africa/

17  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: List of African Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency businesses / services on: November 09, 2018, 08:26:50 AM
We had already a lot of theoretic discussions how Bitcoin could benefit the African countries. Now I am interested to create a list of already existing businesses and services that are operated from the African continent.

So I would be grateful for every hint, link, or name of African Bitcoin businesses. All African countries, also Maghreb countries and island states like Cape Verde, are allowed (except the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla). The business model should be intimately related to Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general. Known Multilevel/pyramid schemes can also be listed, but in a separate section where the scam danger is clearly described, and without a "hot" link.
