1  Economy / Economics / Re: How to get the money when 1 BTC = loads? on: May 19, 2014, 11:09:43 PM
What is good today will not be good tomorrow. Giving an educated guess now is plausible but that bridge will have to be crossed when and if a huge value hike happens

Weird the fed hates bitcoin... Maybe because they can't continually print and devalue it like the dollar

What's the difference between regular bets and money line bets? Never fully understood that.

I am also not too much in this field but have some knowledge that money-line and regular is win and lost only

The money line is for picking a direct winner of an event and regular bets are usually on a spread. There is usually a favourite (a better player or team) so the moneyline is set on how different the skill of both sides are. So the favourite will be something like -200 ml and the underdog will be +200 ml. You would need to bet 200 on the favourite to win 100 and if you bet 100 on the underdog you would win 200.
Regular or "spread" bets are even money (usually) and spread by points. In tennis its by games so a player -3.5 would mean he has to win by 4 games in order for the bet to pay. If he won by 3 or less (or loses) you would lose. Regular or "spread" bets usually are bet 100 to win 100 (minus juice). Hope that helps

Long time lurker and hodler, first time poster.

I just bought a small amount of btc to purchase a product without dipping into my larger storage. By the time the btc got from the exchange to the market wallet, my btc were no longer valuable enough to purchase the product I desired.

Can someone remind me why btc is master currency?

Well I dont think that you should be questioning the long term viability (master currency) of bitcoin by its short term volatility. I would simply suggest that when you pull from the exchange you transfer a bit extra to ensure that a dip in value does not delay your purchase. $50-$100 daily swings are nothing special currently. In a year from now well experience a lot more stability but for the time being...

Hey Stousers, I thought you said you wanted to alternate 2 NHL and 1 NBA then 2 NBA and 1NHL, now you want to go 3 NHL and 1 NBA after i did your 2 NHL and 1 NBA, are you that afraid of meeting on the hard court? We know your decent at least on ice but you dont need to keep avoiding the hard court with me. How about we just stick to 1 NHL and 1 NBA and we could make it like a half bitcoin or .2 bitcoin per match? Does that work for you champ?

Sure that's fine. Look for me in lobby.

Anyone interested in a .5 or .2 NBA headsup, looks like stousers has given up and is tired of losing... understandable but now i need a new training partner..

Hah you win 1 day vs me and I'm running away?? I'll play you today. Look for me in the lobby. I'll join 3 nhl and 1 nba.....

Fantasycoin don't mean to call you out but last time you said that we would do 1 nba .1 and 1 nhl .1 pool you only entered the nba pool I was in.... Obv you declined to enter the nhl with me as you are clearly an inferior drafter on the ice. How about tom we do an nhl and nba both h/u .2 btc and you stick to it this time??

You're a brave soul Stousrs.
I gotta say, fantasycoin rates pretty high in my books - consistent top/high finishes.

Good luck to you both Smiley

Thanks goose I appreciate that, there seems to be a quite a few good DFS players already on this site, Iv had a few lucky picks and some horrible ones, its a blast for sure and i live for the smack talk and at least stousers seems to have high hopes and really reaching for the stars.....lol.

Yeah wow im lucky I even got my lineups in. Work got crazy and for a minute I thought youd be freerolling the nba. Actually had the wife fill out a lineup for me that I got to slightly alter right before cut off. Now that I changed a few im sure my wifes original picks will put crazy points up.

OH SHIT!

Too funny, i thought you were a gonner man glad to see you didnt run off, had not heard from you in a couple days. I apologize i couldn't enter the NHL pool last time we played and Id be more then happy to make up for it with a .2 NBA and 2 .2 NHL pools, at worst its a sweep cause the NBA pools are a cake walk against you and Im assuming a split with the NHL but could go your way, either way im over 500 against you in all pools we have both been in together and it feels good so lets throw some more W's on the chalk board under fantasycoin and ill  go anytime you want, any sport...

Haha yeah just away for the weekend. Look for me in the lobby's. I'll lead... You can follow... Very similar to how our points will look tomorrow

I like the new features CoinDrafts, keep up the good work. Are you planning on adding MLB? not trying to nag you.

They told me earlier on the chat they will have MLB by the end of the month, CBB by march madness and also NFL later in the year before the season starts.

I suggested a couple games to them too.  The first being a "pickem" game where there like 8-10 groups of players, each group has about 6+ different players from the same position, pick one from each group with no salary cap and you have your game.  Great for newer players.

The next used to be my favorite but I forgot all about it.  It was a "Target" game where the site sets a high target...like 50 points for NHL or 350 for NBA.  Something obtainable but real hard to get.  Must be a pay-to-enter game.  If no one hits the target that night the entire pot rolls over, and keeps going until someone hits and wins big.  If multiple people hit its split evenly.

What are your thoughts on those games?

That's crazy, I was going to suggest a target/hit it and split it type game but figured there wasn't enough people on yet to have it be realistic.  I love those things.

The jackpot gets bigger and bigger every day so more and more people play it.  With a .005 buyin and a realistic yet nearly optimal target score (I was also thinking 350 for NBA), the eventual winner could realistically win over a coin.  That's some sweet action!

I think theres a few of us that'll play to pay that game and then when others see what the potential payout can be they will start to join and the pot will just race up.  It'd be an easy place for freeroll winners to spend their money  Wink

I'd be in those for sure.

After seeing both baller's lineups, I'd set the line as FC -300.

Gl boys.

Damn what a juicy line that was. Shoulda jumped on that +280 Smiley

Clearly I'm as bad at line setting as I am at NHL DFS.

Not exactly true. I saw you rolled over 410 in a nhl pool yesterday that you won.... I think you average very well at most sports in dfs.

Stousers your lucky i let my little sister draft my NHL team tonight lol........ i want a little redemption for her, what do you say to a .5 H2H NHL?

Haha I'll be cautious on the courts with you but I'll hang out on the ice as long as you want to buddy. .5 h/u nhl..... Done. No chickening out now that you called me out in public. Ps coin drafts a chat box would be a pretty handy feature on the site right about now Smiley
