1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] (WC) | WhiteCoin | ☯ Now in PoS stage ☯ MULTIPOOL: whitecoinpool.com ☯ on: April 27, 2014, 11:24:24 AM
wow the greed is strong in this thread.

Why stick around supporting this coin when it was a sham from the get go. How about aiming all that support at a coin that actually deserves it, one with a dev that either didn't premine or didn't dump his premine at the first chance of profit. Any price rise wc see's from here on it will only be a death rattle.

So you're suggesting that not selling at a loss because the dev dumped his premine is greedy? That makes no sense. Anyway he's gone and community is taking over so the point is moot.

Yep. Cut your losses because if you continue to hold the bag on this one your more than likely to get fucked...again Smiley

I doubt it tbh...
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] (WC) | WhiteCoin | Distribution Stage Ending SOON! ☯ PoS ☯ exchanges ☯ on: April 25, 2014, 08:40:23 AM
Whats your price foresight for WC ?

2k-3k
Too much coins for more...
i thing 2..price would be 2k or 3k sometning..maybe peak to 4k or more but then back to 2k or 3k

Exactly.
I guess the big pump will be today. And then it will go back to 2k-3k sat.

When it gets PoS only big players will have good fun with it. As with any PoS big holders can manipulate the market as much as they want. Tho they need to do it in steps, as in pump-dump to consolidate themself, but each they due to having more coins they can push it more. So tbh it all depends on how much % of the coins they own and how much do they want to push, but they can push as much as they want. This means predictions are hard, unless the big holders want to share info about their plans...
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 15, 2014, 12:11:20 PM
BTC taking a dump on BTC-E - This could well be the whales selling their BTC to buy back cheaper and then reinvest in BC. Be vigilant.

Or just selling the BTC they earned from pumping&dumping BC...They made very good profit!
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEW! EuroCoin EUC (scrypt) + mining pool on: April 15, 2014, 11:17:51 AM
Any ideea if CR will reimburse the EUC and if there will be any trading there? They removed it from the list, couldn't see my balance and now the website is down...
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypto Rush - Crypto to Crypto exchange on: April 14, 2014, 12:48:02 PM
they would let you deposit all your money and then shutdown, those are real scams, not run a site for a year then start making up stories of theft.

And this is different from CryptoRush how exactly? It did not run for a year, it opened at the end of January 2014 - you are in its ANN thread in case you haven't noticed.

I think the most wtf was the handle of the CRS payments. Quote from the twitter:

Quote
As of this Saturday you will be able to withdraw any BTC you've earned from CRS payouts.

So none can withdraw BTC yet people invested in CRS, meaning a handfull of bagholders, can withraw BTC. Yeah nice, very fair to the other thousands of users that can't withdraw shit in BTC.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Sapphire Toxic 280X Back in Stock on: April 10, 2014, 07:23:13 AM
anything special that needs done or just download and run it?

Just download and run.  No major run time changes (since block is still < 65535)

What will the hardfork change in terms of coin specs?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypto Rush - Crypto to Crypto exchange on: April 09, 2014, 03:57:02 PM
Any idea when EuroCoin(EUC) is getting back online?
run while you can. to many ppl are in denial. you will lose in the end.

Given that I can't even withdraw the coins and that the coin only traded on this exchange, guess I'm stuck with it.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | GPU on-line sales OPEN | Marketplace is live on: March 28, 2014, 12:32:47 PM
Changing the algo would be good too... My cards don't like at all scrypt-n (runs too hot, easy driver crash...) take something like fugue, heavycoin or groestl Nvidia people will be happy.  Grin

No it won't. With scrypt asics comming into the market, only coins like this can be safe to mine with people with GPU's. Only real issue with the coin right now is it's marketing, or lack of it. That and with the low trading that's trigger by the whole btc market right now, means the coin is dirt cheap.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | GPU on-line sales OPEN | Marketplace is live on: March 27, 2014, 10:15:53 AM
I do agree that we still need to keep faith in the coin.

We also need to build a bigger community, with that comes marketing etc. We need to create some buzz about the coin. This takes both sides, the general public needs communication from the management team (I know they all have jobs etc) but making short posts to tell us how things are going and what they are doing/planning will boost morale and is pretty easy (they can even do it on the front page). The other side is us, we need to market and advertise the coin to the bitcoin community and beyond. We can't just wait for the management to do everything, if you really do believe in the coin, write articles, vote, tweet do anything that will increase exposure about the coin.

Secondly, I do agree about the posters about maybe having a direct link from the store site on the front page. People don't realize that you can click on GPUcoin.net to go there (put the equivalent price into US dollars as well so people know they are getting a deal, some people are lazy and when they see millions of GPUcoins for a product they shy away). We NEED to get on a better exchange that takes some donations from us and the management as well to boost up our votes. Honestly, getting on a bigger exchange isn't going to magically solve how our coin is doing. We need to do some of the things above to make it work and more....

More: With our current model of selling GPUcoins for GPU isn't going to work forever. If you have surfed newegg and amazon lately GPU prices are falling. WHY? because mining isn't as profitable as before, especially when you factor in paying for electricity as well. We need to start selling other products, gift cards etc etc etc. We also have to make it a deal ie selling $100 amazon card for $80 equivalent GPUcoins. The marketplace is a great idea but we need to put more things that people want there, if anyone has connections with big retail stores, mom and pop stores, anything... that can get things for cheaper and sell it on GPUcoins that would help.

As I see it, In the end, it takes both parties to tango. If you want the coin to succeed we both have to put in the effort.

On that note its time for me to VOTE on mintpal! https://www.mintpal.com/voting
only 8.4 btc to get top vote lol i have .1 on offer

Like someone pointed out before, maybe they can use the premined ammount to make it happen, since it's the company interest to be able to have the coin a decent exchange. But anyhow, I'm bagholding my coins for now, still feels wierd that this coin has very low trade ammount....
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | GPU on-line sales OPEN | Marketplace is live on: March 26, 2014, 11:12:03 AM
It's been said already but I only just figured it out (when I went to withdraw BTC and couldn't...):
DO NOT USE CRYPTORUSH

They appear to be out of BTC, probably insolvent.  Prices are out of whack (high) for everything else.

It's your fault, btc takes a long time to withdraw anyhow. Take it out in another altcoin and stop spreading false news.

ps: I've just withdraw my GPUC and it took like 1m to get it to my wallet. So there is no problem!
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Selling GPUs at prices cheaper than Newegg on: March 25, 2014, 03:17:06 PM
Well I've pulled everything I had out of Cryptorush, seems like it's on the way out?

Not sure whats going on really, i might just switch off my miner for a few weeks until it all picks up again.

I wouldn't stop mining because of the exchange - just get any funds left in there out to a wallet.
I don't feel there is anything wrong with cryptorush and going to close, its just laggy.

No, i feel that the prices of coins has dropped of considerably, so will be looking to stop for a while. Doesn't mean you all have to. its my choice. to be honest, there are far too many exchanges. there need so t be some regulation on the amount of exchanges that pop up.

What up with cryptocrush, its always down.. is anyone else getting load problems

Prob continued ddos attacks since yesterday. The blackcoin exploiters were not happy...
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 25, 2014, 11:07:56 AM
Exactly and Mintpal is definitely slow.

So continued amounts of small buying needed then...

mintpal's blackcoin market is frozen, there has not been a trade on in in almost 30mins.

In fact, everything seems frozen at MintPal right now. No transactions happening on any coin.

It's under DDOS attack, it started at the time of the announcement made by the incompetent fuck over at Cryptorush.

If people didn't trade fair it's not their fault...
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Selling GPUs at prices cheaper than Newegg on: March 24, 2014, 05:49:49 PM
Yes but the lack of demand after the best hand card was played by GPUC is somewhat concerning! Seems there was a hype, some dumping to constant hyped buy walls at 35 to 40 satoshi and now after the store release the hype is gone and dumping starts to be abit alarming!!!

Thread died overnight btw Huh

Coin and business are still very young, give it a week or 2. I also have other thoughts, but it doesn't matter in the long run. Nothing bad I assure you.

One of the better conclusions to an initially poor launch, so kudos to the team for finally pulling something together.

Actually it's way better, graphics cards are still in stock, trades are decent, people still mine. Would have been frustrating I think if everything sold out in like a few hours by large bag holders. Overall the current situtation proves this coin is stable, model is working, just takes some time.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Selling GPUs at prices cheaper than Newegg on: March 24, 2014, 12:01:16 PM
taking a look at the sale order book on cryptorush.in , the price is being knocked down by the little guys, who I think finally gave up on the fact that if they mined on a nvidia gtx680 for a few days, would score enough to get a pile of R9 280x's... Sorry folks - no get rich quick deal for little miners. So give them a few days to unload their packs of 10k gpucoin and at some point the price will go back up.

remember the price of the cards in GPUc changes with market conditions, price goes up, the number of GPUc required to get a card goes down.

Or another scenario, the big bag holders are still holding and are invested/playing the whole Blackcoin pump train that is going on now. But yeah, give it a few days, it's still a very nice price to buy in!

Any idea why my 3rd GPU is getting such low hash rate?

I'm using these settings:
Code:
timeout /t 30
vertminer -o website -u user -p password -I 13 --vectors 1 -w 256
--lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8193 --shaders 0 --gpu-engine 1030 --gpu-fan 30-80 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-
memdiff 0 --gpu-powertune 20 --temp-cutoff 90 --temp-overheat 85 --temp-target 75 --expiry 120 --gpu-dyninterval 7
--gpu-platform 0 --gpu-threads 2 --log 5 --scan-time 15 --temp-hysteresis 3 --shares 0

Driver crashed? Mine does it sometimes, pop-up that AMD Catalyst crashed and just one card that won't hash. Restarted windows, it works.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TopCoin, Unique coin with rapid Block Halving (2 Days) on: March 23, 2014, 11:04:35 AM
Everybody, please withdraw your coins from MINTPAL to your wallet, they are using your coins to dump automatically.

What are you talking about? All my coins, that are put into orders, are intact and not touched.

You are forgetting one very fundamental thing... the miner and his GPUC/MH/day. No matter what push and pull, the market will always settle down to this price range... we can call that the equilibrium price (EQ). If its higher, people all drop their current coin jump to mine this one and sell for that high price till it drops to the EQ price . If its lower, people all drop the coin and go to another coin. This scarcity will have people bidding one other to buy the coin till it reacher EQ range. It would be foolish for the CEO to list prices that are not in this EQ range.

I think you are also missing one point. That most of the other coins have no other real purpose other than just being a coin. Gpucoin has something different, they have a product behind the coin. This creates further interest that most of the other coins don't have.

So what? Other coins can be exchanged for BTC, which in turn can be exchanged for fiat. The BTC is the "product" of value as far as anyone is concerned. I can get amazon gift cards with Noblecoin... doesnt really make a difference (unless I get them cheaper or more profitably)... I could just as well have my rigs pointed at a multipool and use the BTC proceeds to get the gift card. Alternatively, rent them out for the market rate and earn BTC. Similarly GPUC will float around that EQ. Artificially manipulating the prices (by offering the graphics card at non-market prices) will just crash the system. It will either be unsold due to unreasonable prices, or it would be sold out with a loss, leading to an unsustainable business model.

BTC is not a product, Its simply a means of transferring wealth. Like cash. There needs to be support built round the coin or it collapses. like it has done recently.

You can do all the support you want when scandals like Mt. Gox happen it's bown to impact the coin. Just like the financial crisis did for fiat currency.
