I reckon we'll see it sooner than we think, not the disappearance of banks but the use of Bitcoin for payments. Plutus is releasing their crypto card in a few months which lets you spend in crypto at any store that accepts Visa/Mastercard. The crypto is technically converted into spendable fiat before the merchant receives it, but it essentially makes Bitcoin useable as a currency which is pretty revolutionary. Can use Bitcoin at 40million+ stores and online.

It's a crypto payments platform, so you can pay at over 40 million stores with bitcoin. They have made a decentralized exchange to facilitate the payments. When a customer wants to pay in Bitcoin, that Bitcoin goes to a trader who wants to buy Bitcoin, the trader's fiat used to purchase the Bitcoin goes to the customer, who can then use the spendable fiat in-store. So the merchant is receiving payment in fiat but the customer is still using Bitcoin to pay if that makes sense.

You can buy crypto for free on their exchange because it's needed to facilitate the customer's purchases, the selling of crypto is also free whilst in beta. So you can trade for free on either their app or on their desktop exchange. They are adding the payment functionality to their app next month, but they want people to test the beta app for them and leave reviews on their telegram.

Does it make sense?

Plutus are building a crypto 'tap & pay' app and a crypto debit card. App is currently being beta tested and whilst in progress you can trade BTC, ETH and PLU at zero fees. The fully functioning app with NFC enabled payments will be available next month, the card will be available in January. It's more secure than the other ones out there because they don't have a centralized exchange (is impossible to get hacked).
