1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining is dead on: April 22, 2014, 02:31:36 AM
Mining is not dead ... just mine other asic-ressistant coins like

Vertcoin / execoin -> Scrypt-N based
Protoshares -> momentum-pow based

.. but better the ones with cooler algorithms :

Darkcoin / Hirocoin -> X11 based
Heavycoin ->  LEFTY1 based
Groestlcoin -> groestl based ... which is AMD and NVIDIA-friendly algo too.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][0.8.6] Hirocoin - X11 - Secured Blockchain - Time Warp Limitation - KGW on: March 25, 2014, 11:02:52 PM
Which are the technical differences between Hirocoin and Darkcoin, please?
Both use X11 and KGW, qt-based wallets and sph-miner ... so perhaps the secured blockchain and time warp limitation ?
Thanks in advance.
3  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange - BTC/NMC/LTC/NVC/TRC/PPC/FTC/XPM - USD\EUR\RUR (fee - 0.2%) on: March 14, 2014, 03:27:21 PM
Reduced commissions to withdraw funds at Perfect money USD - 3.5%
What about SEPA transfers? Still those non-sense 100€ per transaction? Cheesy
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 750 GPUs for coin mining, does RAM amount matter? on: March 05, 2014, 02:18:32 PM
GTX 750 is not as good as you think. Better wait for the big 20nm cards, you'll save those 150$.
5  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange - BTC/NMC/LTC/NVC/TRC/PPC/FTC/XPM - USD\EUR\RUR (fee - 0.2%) on: March 05, 2014, 02:11:31 PM
I want to sell some bitcoins for EUR ...
Are you still applying the min.100€/10% SEPA withdrawal fee? Because Bitstamp's SEPA withdrawal is as low as 0.90€ ... so, honestly, nobody will trade at BTC-e unless you lower that ridiculous fee ...
And I think you should put clearly your fees in the FAQ, with accurate and precise numbers.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - www.middlecoin.com on: February 15, 2014, 12:54:24 AM
H2O, pls, add a simple text box where you can paste your BTC address to get the stats ... having to click on "View all user stats" is not very clever  Tongue
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: February 14, 2014, 11:46:49 PM
Terk, some suggestions:

1. Add an option to auto-exchange to litecoins too, pls !
you could change the password to choose between BTC and LTC:
-p btc   -> will auto-exchange to BTCs
-p ltc    -> will auto-exchange to LTCs

2. Add an option to mine SHA256 coins for the ASIC people ( PPC, TRC, ASC, UNO, XJO, ZET, etc... )
Don't forget to implement here also the BTC/LTC auto-exchange.

3. You need more mirrors in europe, asia, USA, etc... to reduce ping and rejects.

thx for good job you're doing.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Compare pools: MiddleCoin/CleverMining/HashCows/WafflePool/Hashbros on: February 10, 2014, 03:33:18 AM
Do you guys have other suggestions for pools that you want to test, or variables I need to keep in mind?
I would like to see the performance vs direct pool mining using Coinwarz.com + multiminer app ( https://github.com/nwoolls/MultiMiner ) trading.

Ok so this is just a list of this poll?

Are you already able to cloud mine or did they give you a date? Could you copy paste the mail here?

4-month compensation cloud mining starts on May with the Rent-a-minion program.
The email is this one:

We have to inform you that our schedule to manufacture and assemble the system has been disrupted and we are unable to make delivery of the Batch 1 Minion ASIC chip on the initial scheduled date (end of February). We are now expecting to dispatch all Batch 1 orders on 1st of May 2014.

Please be re-assured we are confident that we have tried our best to accomplish our initial ambitious targets. However, we came to the conclusion that it is in the best interest of our customers to delay shipping in order to ensure that the product provides the best-possible user experience.

Without this delay we would have achieved 1.5W/Ghash which would have meant that our chip would not have been competitive at all.

We have now finalized the design process using our newly improved code and will start manufacturing the chip (tape out) in the next few days.

We are happy to announce that Black Arrow Software’s products remain on target for being the best in their class for power consumption. We confirm that our latest improved design has the following technical specifications:

·0.75w/Ghash on TT corner @ 25C which is expected to run at 120Ghash/sec.

·SS corner will be 0.6w/ghash and will run at 100Ghash.

·A further underclocking and underpower should be possible and should yield 80Ghash @ 0.5W/ghash. However, please note that this is not guaranteed to work stable.

Please note, that a further push for improvement in the optimization process would have guaranteed further delays for at least 1-2 months.

It is no secret to us that the Bitcoin mining process is proving to be more and more difficult every day. To compensate our loyal customer for the unforeseen delay of in delivering our miners for batch 1, we are happy to offer free extra hashing power which consists of 25% of your purchased hashing power from our Rent-Some-Minions cloud program for 4 months.

The account for the tape-out has been settled in full and we are confident that the delivery will be completed shortly.

We are taking all the necessary measures and positive actions to expedite delivery to you as soon possible and we are confident that we have the resources to be successful.

Please note:

·We estimate that the delivery for the Batch1 will coincide with the delivery of the Batch2
·The delivery of Batch2 remains unchanged
·The one-off offer presented above is open to the customers who placed orders for Batch1

Sincerely,
The Black Arrow Software Team

What is not clear to me is if they are moving to 20nm to solve the energy problem or what ...

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mine&Hold vs. Mine&Sell ? on: February 08, 2014, 11:38:10 PM
Mine and sell for me. I won't accumulate crappy alt coins. They can dissapear or devaluate fast.
Multipools for me are a waste of time and a huge risk. I prefer direct BTC/LTC mining or auto-trade BTC/LTC pools like middlecoin/hasco/switchercoin/ltcrabbit, etc...
Just my 2cents.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Scrypt] Best MultiPool with profitability coin switch (check out the list!) on: February 08, 2014, 11:07:36 PM
https://coinex.pw/
Almost what your asking for.
Yep but

1. No real-unattended auto-trade as hashco or middle. I must play with thresholds or to trade manually, which I hate and I consider suboptimal.
2. No good stats ( BTC/MH/day, daily earring history graph, etc... ).
3. A bit slow and unresponsive GUI ( probably due to chat + notifications window spam ).
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Scrypt] Best MultiPool with profitability coin switch (check out the list!) on: February 08, 2014, 09:33:02 PM
You should add http://www.clevermining.com/

And I pray for a SHA256 auto-switching/trading pool omg ... something like middlecoin but in SHA256 mode  Cry
My ideal pool is one that could allow you to choose to auto-convert into BTC and LTC ( and to hold other altcoins as option ), with SHA256 and scrypt support and nice graphs/transparency/security.
No pool like that exists  Embarrassed

We received an email saying the Batch 1 was delayed to May ... and we get a crappy 25% hashrate for 4 months cloud mining as compensation ...  Embarrassed
Previsible tho  Grin
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - www.middlecoin.com on: February 08, 2014, 08:45:57 PM
Suggestion 1: add SHA-256 too, not only scrypt  Grin
That's good because:

1. Sometimes to mine other sha256 altcoin could give you more profit ( like ZET, PPC, TRC, etc... ) than mining BTC directly.
2. Mining sha256 altcoins instead of BTC directly will have an indirect impact lowering the BTC difficulty, which I think is also beneficial.

Suggestion 2: Support LTC conversion too. You could modify the "password" behavior so the user can choose which coin to auto-convert to:
-p "btc"                -> the auto-switch will convert the alt-coins to BTC
-p "ltc"                 -> the auto-switch will convert the alt-coins to LTC

Pls !
