1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 26 days to the halving left, what are you expecting? on: April 29, 2020, 09:30:33 AM
I do not expect it to reach the ATH. To repeat 2017, so many people of the world would have to invest. The big mass of people have already bought and sold again because of the dropping prices and disappointing feelings they had.

So you cannot have a 2nd big fomo like in 2017 if it has already happened once. There can now only be another huge investment round if Bitcoin or an altcoin develops in such a way that it is very practical, very safe and cheap to use. And if people have a reason to doubt the existing economy due to the effects of the corona virus for example.

The halving event can add fuel to that but not much I think. Because many have either already invested or do not believe in it anymore.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We have to be aware that bitcoin will not last forever on: December 23, 2018, 05:05:52 PM
I dont expect it to die. 2 days ago, btc broke the record for the biggest btc 24h trading volume in history. Bitcoin is more alive than ever.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Today is 1 year since Bitcoin price reach its ATH (~$20,000) on: December 17, 2018, 02:15:04 PM
Bitcoin reached $20,000 a year ago since today. It's been quite a huge drop since then (over 80% drop since then).

There's been quite a few similar drops over the years:

When do you think we will reach new ATH?

This picture actually gives me a pretty hopeful and positive feeling about the future. Showing that actually nothing seriously is going on right now.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Buy now or wait? on: December 08, 2018, 10:53:50 AM
Hi, i am wondering if i should buy a little bit of top 20 coins at current prices, 8th dec 2018, or wait until the market gets lower. What do you guys do?

I have bought the current dip, or at least... when market cap was still around 120 billion usd. Following my policy to buy after huge drops only, i planned to buy the next dip if market cap is around 60 billion usd. But should i not buy the current dip twice? Because what if the bakkt launching next month is succesful? What if it gets followed up by the ETF getting approval in the february sec-decision? What if it all comes paired with new developments that occur? Is this a realistic scenario for short-term?

What would you do, if you were following my plan/policy? I don't buy with large amounts so i can take some losses, what do you think is best?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ADA or XRP on: December 04, 2018, 10:20:35 AM
Hi. XRP is probably a safer investment considering that Ripple has more worldwide support, connections and name and is more actively developing and trying to get the big guys to back it up. Cardano might have more potential but is probably a higher risk. I would take both but a bit more XRP.

Also compliance is very important. Whether or not it could be seen as legit by governments for regulations. As we have learned in 2018 the hard way...
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: November 24, 2018, 11:11:37 AM
I am impressed by how "advanced" Tezos is said to be. And that it could beat the top coins if everything planned will roll out successfully. But it doesn't really help that their token name is XTZ though... Imagine business men talking about XTZ throughout the day.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Major Indian Exchange Unocoin Launching Crypto ATMs on: November 05, 2018, 12:08:20 PM
A major cryptocurrency exchange in India, Unocoin, has confirmed that it is launching crypto ATMs. While a formal announcement has not been made, an image of one of the exchange’s ATMs spreading on social media suggests that the machines support at least five cryptocurrencies.

Unocoin, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in India with over 1.2 million customers, is preparing to launch its own line of crypto automated teller machines (ATMs). An image of one of the exchange’s machines has been extensively shared on social media since Tuesday.

ATMs are not very comfortable, because there may be cameras and authorities are still able to watch you. In the same time, it is good for community?

But the camera only looks at the place for security. Any on-board camera on the ATM unit itself belongs to the exchange or bank that placed it. There is no connection.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin Cash will take place of Bitcoin? on: November 05, 2018, 09:28:01 AM
Not only Binance, but now also Coinbase will support the hard fork. So it might increase further, but i don't think it will come even close to Ripple and Ethereum because they are just so incredibly popular and revolutionary, sitting on over 18 billion dollar. In the current bearish market, that is a whole, whole lot to catch up to since BCH is only on half of the market cap of Ripple.

And considering the technology superiority, it might never catch up on Ripple and Ethereum at all. But on the long term, if Bitcoin ever gets outdated while BCH is more practical, it could drop a few places and that means also below BCH.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On Bitcoin Cash supporters' belief that Bitcoin Cash is more "P2P" than Bitcoin on: November 03, 2018, 12:02:13 PM
It is pretty remarkable to see that the BCH rise is also pulling the entire market with it. I thought this hard fork news would stop affecting the price yesterday night, but it is still going.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is permitted by Law, Chinese Arbitration Court Says on: November 01, 2018, 02:01:11 PM
Not only that, but today on Coindesk news you can see that Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission will bring crypto funds under its securities regulations.

So it seems to me like they are stepping it up a notch beyond just allowing crypto.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The bulls will run Q4 2018. Thoughts? on: November 01, 2018, 01:15:23 PM
There needs to be good news and actual development for prices to rise. That is only logical. The good news from HongKong yesterday and today are i think both stimulating current prices a bit. And there are things expected to happen in the coming months regarding Bakkt and maybe the first accepted exchange-traded-fund of btc. These would stimulate prices further. If it comes out the way it is supposed to be.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this the correct time to purchase bitcoins and al-crypto? on: November 01, 2018, 01:08:29 PM
Yes this could be the right time to purchase. Because of the good news from China yesterday and today. I think this is the reason that i already see some green in the market right now. And in America things are also happening. There is a platform coming for institutional investors and the first Bitcoin ETF might get accepted in the coming months.

These things can really lift and change the market, but you are never certain. The market could still be bearish because good news and lifting prices also mean that many people will finally sell their crypto against the higher prices. We don't know if those short-time holders have already been gone and i hope what remains now are mostly long time holders so that a possible bullmarket will not see an immediate sell-off.
