1  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Canadians! I buy your Bitcoins! [back!] on: June 09, 2011, 06:19:48 PM
Sure send me a PM I'll check it out l8rz
TD will reinburse the guy who had his account broken into and initiated the fraud Interac. They won't reinburse you for receiving stolen funds or else carders would abuse this easily.

Those sites also have thousands of Bank of America and other logins from around the world. It's easy to get bank logins, set up man-in-the-middle wireless attack at an airport or busy downtown cafe and presto, dozens of accounts rolling in. There was even a guy there with his own fake mini cell tower he aimed at a bank to steal passwords over the phone

Wow, thanks for your insight. I had no idea about that underground ring.
2  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Any Canadian bitcoin buyers or sellers try Virtex Exchange yet? on: June 08, 2011, 09:56:13 PM
You can talk to the devs in #bitcoin-cad on the freenode IRC network.  Grady2000 is friendly and part of the project.

An awesome perk about being a Canadian is that you have access to banks that do Email Interac Transfer.

It's $1-2 per transfer up to $1000, and takes 30 minutes for the funds to process.

Just as a heads up, some other Canucks started a #bitcoin-cad on freenode... There's just a few of us now, but hopefully if we advertise more, we can get more Canadian trades going on there.

6  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What's the best way to sell Bitcoins for Canadian dollars? on: May 15, 2011, 05:31:23 PM
I've already traded with SteveB, so I don't think I'll be wanting to buy any more, for now.

Thanks for the interest.

How many do you have available?  The best way is to find a buyer (like me), and have them send you payment over Interac Email transfer.

And use the bitcoin-otc web of trust.
9  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Selling: 5 BTC for CAD using interac e-transfer on: May 13, 2011, 05:39:02 PM
I'm interested, but it's $1.50 a transfer; could you sell in higher volumes?
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you going to do, when (if) bitcoin hit $1000/BTC? on: May 11, 2011, 11:02:46 PM
Quit my job and only do open source development.

Same here. This has been my dream for a while Smiley

Me three Smiley

Although I may ease out of it with some part time work...  I don't think this is an uncommon dream among programmers.
11  Economy / Marketplace / Anyone want to trade $74.51 USD in Mt. Gox for some cash in Vancouver? on: May 02, 2011, 03:33:25 AM
I'll trade it for $75 Canadian Dollars in cash.  We can meet at a coffee shop and do it on my computer wirelessly.

The fees for withdrawing such small amount to a Canadian bank just aren't worth it, and I just want to get my initial investment back Smiley
