So yeah the loser from 9z VS Team Vitality will play on the quarterfinals against 3rd place from group B ( winner of the lower bracket group B )

Hope this makes it easier to understand

Ah, now it does make sense to even me! Wink Haha, I was so confused, but my fault for not digging deeper into it although spent quite some time. I was so focused on the term "play-offs" in the BSFL question, but Trofo/cryptofrka specified "Name 4 teams that will reach the semi-final stage in playoffs."

That makes a whole lot of sense now, thanks arallmuus!

Hey guys, no words in quite a long time and I hope everyone around here is doing well.

I am still trying to figure out how this Counter Strike stuff works. I came across this overview and don't know why sometimes there are two boxes under qualified and sometimes there is one box. Anyone can explain that for a dumb guy like me? Wink

Much appreciated and good luck to my opponent Chi20!

~,
Florian Wirtz is one of the best player who done historic job with the Bayer Leverkusen, and now they are having good time for keeping this momentum for the future as well because having success and then keeping this quality is never been easy while we have few big declines in last season Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz are both assets for the German soccer which are going to have big impact in future for them with Jude Bellingham is surely now important player for the Real Madrid even his price is not like them, but he is already having his best with most chances going to complete double.

Flick is doing right job as he accepted this offer because he understands Barcelona currently can't afford big salary and most chances we are going to have few changes in this summer transfer window with many players will be offloaded, and we will have few better and youngsters which will make their mark in coming season.

I think that the decision against an offer is damn hard for a guy who is in this amazing situation to have the choice to go to any club in the world, play the greatest football and become a rich man.

I am really convinced that a career like that of Bellingham will influence young guys in the future. He was 20 I think when he went to Real Madrid, Wirtz is now 21. He is certainly looking over to Real, seeing what Bellingham is doing and how he is already celebrated as a football god. That's why I believe that the chances for Witz to stay in Leverkusen are rather small. They may be able to keep him if they offer him a huge salary raise and give him a clause or something for next year. Otherwise Real Madrid will just go serious and offer an amount that Leverkusen can't decline. It is already tough for them to decline 100 million +.

However, it is possible that Leverkusen insists on a long-term strategy and retains him no matter what. I would like that.

The price tag of 130 million euros is indeed too expensive, but Leverkusen positive trend throughout this season is a strong reason to increase the price of its players. I'm sure it's not only Florian Wirtz who gets such a high price, maybe Grimaldo price will also rise. The problem is, this enough to attract the attention of Europe elite teams? What makes Wirtz extraordinary this season is thanks to Xabi Alonso great hands, so what guarantees that Wirtz in the hands of another coach can make the same contribution?
From 32 matches, 11 goals and 11 assists in the Bundesliga, 4 goals and 4 assists in the European League for a midfielder is indeed worthy of appreciation, Wirtz Market Value continues to increase every season.

I was just trying to make that comparison with Bellingham as I can't see how Wirtz would contribute as much as Bellingham while Wirtz is already worth more than Bellingham was back then. It's ok if young players reach high market values, but delivering such a season in a hyper performing Leverkusen team is a different thing than going to Real Madrid and doing the same. For Wirtz and Leverkusen it is great, but sometimes I am shaking my head when I see these prices for players.

No doubt that probably the whole team has gained market value, which is correct. But does anyone remember how Mario Götze went through the roof when he was one of the best players in Dortmund at the age of 19 or so? Afterwards he was a nobody when he went to Bayern Munich. He scored the decisive goal at the World Cup and that was his last highlight of the career. It's a risky game for a very young player to leave a running system.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | SFs on: May 29, 2024, 12:35:58 PM
This thread might attract the interest of Chelsea fans looking ahead to next season. Many fans, myself included, aren't familiar with the Conference League, but there are always opportunities for betting on any games.

Might be true, but I think the more interesting fact about Chelsea playing in the Conference League is probably that they are the most expensive team that has ever participated in this competition. Cheesy In the season 16/17 they won the Premier League with 93 points and qualified for the Champions League ever since until 21/22. Then despite record spending finished 12th and now 6th.

Out of coincidence I saw a documentary (it's English) about Abramovic and how he turned the club into a PL powerhouse. These times are over for the time being. Perhaps next year again though.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 29, 2024, 12:21:15 PM
Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen is now the most valuable Bundesliga player with a newly estimated value of 130 million euros. He overtook Jamal Musiala from Bayern, who is now said to be worth 120 million euros. This could end in a big payday for Leverkusen. When I read that value though, I am unsure whether this is indeed correct. Comparing him to a player like Bellingham, who was around 100 million euros plus some bonuses if Real Madrid performs well, it is kind of inconsistent as I doubt that Wirtz would be able to outcompete Bellingham.

Flick joining Barcelona for just 3 million euros net per season. That's quite a low salary for a Barcelona coach. It is said that he wants to bring Olmo from Leipzig, Frimpong from Leverkusen and a few others.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: May 29, 2024, 12:16:24 PM

I don't think any coach can do this while we all know how much Brazilian Federation is also involved in this dirty game I read most of the players are now invited by the sponsors which are having huge impact into this Federation, and they are controlling all things around this in Brazil which is having serious impact on their performance and things are not favorable for Carlos Ancelotti to join this team as coach and bring his reputation into bad way.
They are having too much money involved in this game and most of the Federation members are having personal links which works for the players those are called for the national teams through sponsors and investors if we have something about this surely changes will be happened.

If it's true as you say then this is a really serious problem. I know Brazil is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Even the 2014 World Cup which was held in their country drew a lot of protests from the Brazilian people because the government was seen as preferring the World Cup to seeing many of its people suffer. But I never thought that the Brazilian football federation was also involved in corruption. Brazil produces many world class players, they are even the best in the world cup to date with five titles. I think it's because CBF really develops talented talent in their country. If they are also involved in a corruption scandal then I think Brazil will sink and they will no longer be one of the strongest football countries in the world.

Tell me about some governments that provenly have not been involved in corruption when it comes to hosting events like World Cups. I am not freeing Brazil from blame here, but by now I doubt that any processes involving the FIFA are without corruption. Look at the World Cup 2006 in Germany and how many allegations there were in hindsight about corruption. In contrast to Brazil, there were no protests from poor people though.

I have just found this article and it seems that Brazil miscalculated some of the positive effects the World Cup might have on the economy. Additionally, World Cups are coming with long planning phases and in that year Brazil underwent very low economic growth, but the consequence couldn't be to cancel everything.

Corruption is one issue that I believe can hardly be solved. See how Infantino works and speaks and it was no different with Sepp Blatter. The system seems to be corrupt inside out. Economic distress in countries where these events take place is another issue and I think the biggest problem is not so much the event itself, but the preparations, building infrastructure under inhuman conditions and dumping wages. It's also about sustainability when stadiums that were newly built for the World Cup get torn down shortly after.

Next World Cup coming with a lot of negative buzz is probably the one in Saudi Arabia.

I understand you very well mate. I can even call Brazil like the greatest talents are born there. Despite having so many talented players they somehow manage to mess up things.  Sad  But yeah, the main problem here is actually playing as a team rather than individually. Because this is the point football has reached these days.

In the past we all know how individual skills make difference. It is a great joy to watch for us also but football is no longer like that.

This is where Brazil are lacking. I hope Dorival Júnior is aware of the problem and manages to fix that.

Thank you very much for your understanding, Bro. Yes, football in the past was very interesting to watch when a star player displayed extraordinary individual skills. And Brazil, with its many football talents, could become the center of world football at that time because many of its players had individual skills. But in this era, every club and national team needs players who can play collectively. Football is still beautiful to watch but in a different way. Players are required to really master the basics of football very well and this will be very useful for modern football.

Yoiu are not getting the point. I think when you are a grown up football star, you either die or. thrive at such a tournament. If you are a guy like Ronaldo, what chances do you have? You score the goal, or you are messed up. It is either the one of the two.

The interesting part about players like Ronaldo is that he is willing to take on the challenge. I respect him for that. If he scores, he stays. But it can also lead to gameplay against the team. Well see.

-snip-
I sometimes feel that everyone who hears something about cryptocurrencies will search for the next thing that he or she believes will explode 10000x. It is the feeling that they missed the train and now find themselves hunting that one coin nobody else knows about. In other words, probably 90% of new investors decide against going down the solid route and DCA into Bitcoin overtime right from the start.

The worst is when you get into hopping from Bitcoin into shit coins and try to do that repeatedly, hoping to double your money. In the very, very beginning I have given some shit coins a shot and while it is exciting to see some of them go up, the markets for them very quickly dry out or some of the "dev wallets" get flash dumped and you are screwed.
Yes, I quite understand it, and of course you have explained it well.
There are several common reasons why some new investors own altcoin compared to bitcoin, one of which is that the price of bitcoin is very expensive compared to altcoin price.

They seem eager to buy a lot (meme or otherwise) that they find profitable, but at the same time they fail to understand that bitcoin can also give them returns if they know how to manage their investment budget. As mentioned, DCA will help them earn more bitcoin over time, but their big ambition for altcoin profit mean some of them don't want bitcoin in their portfolio.

The proof lies in the data for Bitcoin. There are threads that explain in a very solid way where somebody would be if they had investors X amount over time in a certain interval. It is mind-blowing and only in hindsight do more people understand how powerful DCAing would have actually been for them even with small amounts.
Of course DCA is good and would be better if used consistently for accumulation.

No, I assume it is the lack of understanding the semantics of what you post. If you say that they think Bitcoin is expensive compared to "altcoins aka shitcoins", it often is the case that they don't even understand the principle market cap is based on. They go for Dogecoin and see it is pennies, while they don't take into account that there is a multitude of coins in circulation compared to other coins. If those people decide to buy a coin based on the sheer price they see, how can you even help them? There is no point in explaining Bitcoin in better detail. There is no need to let them know the value Bitcoin does indeed have! Intrinsic value I would argue! Capital mobility, self-custody, neutrality, etc. I understand that speed and transaction cost are a problem at the moment, but these problems do not negate the advantages Bitcoin has. I have been holding presentations about Bitcoin since 2013 and in my opinion nothing has changed. All the advantages it had back then, it has right now. The only thing that changed is transactions cost. It's a big one, I admit. But I feel there will be solutions to that to a degree that Bitcoin is not only the better gold.

I was surprised for a second because I was of the opinion that his contract expires in 2025, but you are right. His salary does reach its peak this season is this correct? I think for 2024/25 it is going to go up to 16 million net per year, but correct me if I am wrong.

However, a quick glance into some of the details of the contract shows that he has some clauses that could lead to his contract expire earlier. There is something like a minimum playtime per season or so. Can't sort out all the details, but he is an interesting individual right now. I think the last word hasn't been spoken yet and Barcelona is most likely not satisfied with him.
Yes, at the end of the season, Lewandowski will experience a salary increase, which of course will burden Barcelona, which has financial problems, even though Barcelona wants to recruit new players at the end of the season and Barcelona still needs a lot of money to be able to recruit players if Barca increases Lewandowski's salary according to the contract agreement, I think. Barca will give up their intention to recruit new players at the end of this season but if Barca sells Lewandowski to a Saudi Arabian club I think Barca will get enough money to buy players to cover Lewandowski's gap.

Barca has to make quite a tough decision if they let go of Lewandowski who is their mainstay player in the squad but if they don't let him go Barca won't be able to recruit new players, Lewandowski's performance is no longer sharp so if Barca let him go it won't make them regret it as long as Barca can recruit a striker who is better than Lewandowski.

It is again another example for Barcelona making long-term commitments that can hurt them big time down the road. If Lewandowski scored 30 goals a season, then ok. But setting up these contracts for a guy who is approaching his 40s doesn't make sense to me. His salary increases with increasing age in times when he is already old.

No clue whether there are other clauses involved, but in a worst case scenario Lewandowski could decide to sit out the contract. Like Bale did in Madrid. And again important resources are tied to a player that doesn't bring the fruits Barcelona was hoping for. But this happened so often now.

Also, nochmal danke.

Lewandowski still has 2 more years on his contract but he is 35 already. I must admit that his performance hasn't been that impressive in the recent two years. It is normal of course as he is old.

However I wonder if Barcelona is thinking of replacing him this summer. They say his replacement is Nunez for now. But it is just a rumour. What do you think? Who they should sign for the position to score more goals in a season? As Real Madrid is about to sign Mbappe soon, Barcelona had better have a good answer to that. Otherwise it is really very difficult for Barcelona to compete with this team at the same level.

I was surprised for a second because I was of the opinion that his contract expires in 2025, but you are right. His salary does reach its peak this season is this correct? I think for 2024/25 it is going to go up to 16 million net per year, but correct me if I am wrong.

19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jose Mourinho Next Job (Season 2024/2025) on: May 18, 2024, 10:02:37 AM
The GOAT manager currently has no club. With the decline in his rating, more people are saying that his methods are outdated, and after a recent title-less season in England and Italy, can he still land a big job? Or will he be content with a mediocre team or even a less prestigious job such as in the Saudi league or a national team?

Here's the odds from oddschecker (only Skybet):
Quote
Any Saudi Pro League side 4/5
Fenerbahce 5/2
Newcastle 5
Chelsea 5
Liverpool 12
Portugal national team 14
Bayern Munich 12
England national team 16
FC Porto 16
Napoli 16
Barcelona 16
Borussia Dortmund 25
Any MLS side 20
Ajax 25
Nottingham Forest 33
Sporting Lisbon 20
West Ham 20
Crystal Palace 33
Inter Milan 50
Man Utd 16
Tottenham 50
Benfica 20
Juventus 50
Arsenal 50

From the above data, it seems that people think Mou will go to Saudi Arabia, and surprisingly, the second choice is Fenerbahce. Is the Special One now a washed-up manager who can only get bad jobs? As a Mourinho believer, I still think he deserves to coach in the Premier League, preferably Newcastle. What do you think?

It's fun to watch at this overview, but I think there might be little to no substance to that. On the one hand you could think he's done with top jobs in Europe, on the other hand I guess nobody would be shocked if some top club announces Mourinho as the coach for the new season. Things can change within days or hours. Think about it: if you are Mourinho and you think it's over in Europe, and then the phone rings and there is this amazing offer from a great club. He could change his mind immediately. I don't know how this list was composed and how the odds were made up. Saudi Arabia is a realistic option because it would make him many times as rich as he is now perhaps. But he is still the kind of guy who could say yes to an offer from clubs like Juventus Turin or Manchester United.
