Cgminer uses your PC to run the mining hardware; the PC hardware itself does not do the mining. Ah I see! Thanks for letting me know!

I started using CGminer and I've seen pictures of other people clients and it shows their hashrate, but when I open mine and start mining, it only shows Pool Management, Setting, Display options, and Quit. After that it just shows the log and no hashrate. Anyone know what causes this? Any info helps

Im just getting into BitCoin mining and was wondering if it would be worth getting the Jalapeno 5 GH/s mining hardware? I would also be getting a solar power setup making the cost of mining minuscule-nothing. How long would it take for Jalapeno to make itself up or is there any better equipment for a reasonable price? All the information I can find is from 6-12 months ago when people were guesstimating difficulty rises, but when it comes to present day I have no idea what I should or shouldnt buy. I just recently have been getting into BitCoins and mining and I was wondering if anyone knew where to find cheap software that speeds up mining? Im currently mining at a steady rate of 1.1MH/s. Any info at all would be really helpful! Thanks
