i finally compiled a cgminer 3.7.2 with scrypt-jane patch based on the cachecoin thread. gotta love scrypt-jane. It makes my reference 290x about 5c cooler than scrypt / scrypt-n mining. setting: -g 1 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 -I 20 --thread-concurrency 33792 --gpu-engine 937 --gpu-memclock 1250 Can you share it please? sure, i will upload it later today (at work now)

I'd love to see SGMiner updated to support scrypt jane as well.
I've been using it since it's release.
Does your cgminer allow you to exit/Q cgminer without crashing windows?
it was compiled under linux and it won't crash, maybe someone can come up with a windows binary

Guys, you can use YAC miner, I think it's the same for this coin as well as for qqc/velocity/cache etc. Just enter the right settings (--Nfmin 4 --Nfmax 30 --StartT 1393167677)!
I compiled the ybcminer but it won't recognize the settings [2014-02-25 23:36:44] "./ybcminer: --Nfmin: unrecognized option " Oh, I was a bit unclear. Latest scrypt jane coins use ybcminer 3.3.1-yac2. Just tested it, works good with thor (it can be used to mine cache, qqc, velo and other scrypt jane coins). I was hoping that you will chech cache, qqc, velo forum threads... sure, i am actually pretty new to mining, so i thought the .sh / .bat file would be the same. I will check the threads. cheers,

thanks ! edit: compiled the miner but has this "[2014-02-25 23:36:44] ./ybcminer: --Nfmin: unrecognized option "

any linux miner yet? git project?
all my miners are linux based yet I can't mine the thor!

Running 2 HD7950's with 280khash each.
Anyone got a tip to increase this?
Using Ati drivers 13.1

i have my sapphire dual-x 7950 @ 305khz for reducing the tc to 7168, everything else is the same as yours.

Can someone post optimal settings for 290X Sapphire 4GB ?
I could only manage to get to 400KHz with my ref. sapphire 290x interested to see what others can do. the magic for me was tc=2816*8

What about the Sapphire, any better? Are there differences with respect to cooling? Yeah, Sapphire cards have terrible cooling. Not as bad as XFX of course, but still insufficient. I don't know why they're always recommended for mining. my sapphire dual-x 280x (among the cheapest cards) stays quite silent and gives solid hash rate I may try asus direct cu top next time GPU1 is at 4C, so the environment temperature is low. But other cards are still hot. Putting two or more case fans over the cards may help. argh, forgot to mention, it was the igpu (AMD APU), that i just disabled.

For this reason, the ambient temp reading is also wrong, it is the hot hot aussie summer down under!

i can confirm lowering the core indeed give some 20 to 30 odd KHZ per card (for me), and adding the --shaders xxxx option gives a few more! TC: 8192 shaders: 2048 I 13 G 2 Core/Mem: 1030/1500 again plz igonre the GPU 1 (iGPU)

7950 has 1792 shader units, so try setting --shaders 1792 and experiment with a thread concurrency that is a multiple of that, i.e. 3584, 7168, 8960 etc. Also try updating to a newer Catalyst driver set. I got better results on Catalyst 13.9 than the old 13.4 or something I had first.
Thanks man, got +5kh with catalyst 13.9. Not much but hey everything counts My settings on sapphire dualx 7950 are: gpu 1023, memory 1225, 1,1v set with sapphire trixx --shaders 1792 --thread-concurrency 7168 --lookup-gap 0 --I 13 --g 2 --w 286 getting 265 kh One question, if i add r9 270, can i run two different settings (for different cards) in vertminer? Always when i got gpu 0 failure it was a problem with too high of thread concurrency. If you set too high gpu threads it freezes the system, same with intensity you can always use --g 1,2 --engine-core 1000,900 etc to tweak the settings for each individual card.

I believe it was mentioned earlier that you need libncurses5-dev and recompile

btw pkjames you should probably erase your personal data from this screenshot ; )

All right, I finally managed to discover what was the problem. (gigabyte r9 280x) After disabling export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 I am able to set - g 2 parameter. However now when intensity 13 is set, I'm getting HW errors. The highest usable intensity is 12, but still can't squeeze more then about 300 kH/s : | export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=200 doesn't work. (Ubuntu 13.10, vertminer 0.5.3, AMD linux beta driver 14.1, AMD-SDK 2.9) Any ideas what might be wrong? With - g 2 set, I've got nice 350-370 kH/s but definitely too much HW errors. Have you any experience with 13.12 AMD drivers? Are they better regarding mining vertcoin than the beta ones? AFAKI, 14.1 doesn't work well with anything. My 4x280 rig is on 13.11beta9, which I think it is quite decent. BTW, try to set your tc to 8191 if 8192 doesn't work (8192 didn't work for me). GPU1 is the IGPU, so it was disabled.

for those who struggles to get decent hashrate for their 290x. I finally managed to crack 400K for my reference card using:
g:1 i:20 tc: 22528, 980/1500 settings. hope that helps.
still not getting what others are getting (450ish), but much better than the 330-350K I was having.
