It is working for me occasionally, but it does seem to come and go. A recent deposit took much longer to confirm on Poloniex than it did on the blockchain.

If you need to access it, you could refresh regularly to see if it works for you, but not too much, otherwise you might add to their troubles with the DDoS.

Will it be fully functional for Insanity Sunday?

Is there a fall back plan, on what would happen to Insanity Sunday if Poloniex cannot provide sufficient service to ensure fairness?

If Insanity Sunday has to be cancelled, for whatever reason, would it be followed by Insanity Monday, would the next Sunday be Insanity Sunday x 2 (ie 200 BTC pot), or would it be skipped, adding an extra week at the end instead?

On Insanity Sundays the supply is cut, and the price moves higher both in anticipation of and because of the buy back of WOLF from the BTC pot.

With buy support from outside the pot BTC, it is still possible for it to reach and even exceed that.

Has Poloniex been notified that they may have much higher traffic than usual?

Yes. Poloniex tracks WOLF ownership using its own methods without changing the block chain until withdrawal.

Only transactions on the block chain are subject to the 10% transaction fee, which Poloniex transactions are not, except withdrawal.

InsanityCoin has no mining reward. There is no block reward and the transaction fee of 10% is destroyed, not given to miners.

The current methods of obtaining the coin are via InsanityDev, or on https://poloniex.com/exchange/btc_wolf

If you still wish to mine to secure the network, I believe solo is your only option.

If you're worried about not getting the WOLF for your BTC, you can check both block chains and see that there are WOLF payouts corresponding to the BTC payments into the pot address (I have checked this myself, but only for a few transactions). Also, there have not been any complaints of WOLF not being sent.

A few trusted members on here have also backed the dev's trustworthiness, and have also stated they will reveal his real identity if he does anything wrong, so I believe the dev will carry out the Insanity Sunday bump as planned.

What is the reasoning behind keeping a buy wall up, instead of just using the entire pot for the Sunday bump?

Sales of WOLF have no weekly limit (ie could all go in one massive purchase), only the BTC pot is limited to 100BTC per week.

Other than the 6,000 coins the dev has allocated for himself, he cannot have more coins obtained at a rate lower than 0.001BTC, as this would show as a discrepancy between the BTC in the pot and the number of WOLF sold so far.

This means that for any amount over 6000 WOLF, the dev would only lose money by selling at less than 0.001 BTC per WOLF.

Therefore this coin should not be considered to have a premine of more than ~1%, assuming the bump happens honestly.

The dev could put his own order in just before he knows it will be filled. I'm not sure how the risk of this could be mitigated, or even if this could be detected after it was done, although I think it would be suspicious if a new large sell order was put up at a high price and filled almost immediately. It seems it will require trust, although maybe poloniex could tell us if the dev was filling his own orders from the pot.

A single bump has more incentive to create sell orders at higher prices than multiple smaller bumps.

Why would this be bad thing?

The buy volume and the exchange sell price are low enough, and the competition is high enough that it is not easy anyway.

With regards to fixing a time, and how long it is, there is a trade off between whether this is a game of skill or random chance.

If the time was not fixed, or of a very long duration, then it is very much a game of chance.

With the time fixed, and of a shorter duration, it becomes a game of skill, a game of how well you can place your sell orders to maximise your chances of having your orders filled, whilst also trying to maximise your profit.

Personally, I prefer it being a game of skill, to have the time both fixed and of a short duration, maybe even shorter than it is now.

We will be able to work out from the market trade history of the exchange how much BTC was spent during the buy back.

Another way, requiring less calculation, is to keep track of the volume, and when it jumps suddenly work out the difference to see if it is the same as the BTC pot (or slightly greater, depending on other trades occurring simultaneously).

There may be trading noise but that cannot be predicted so cannot be used to reduce BTC spent on the buy back without getting caught.
