1  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin a viable Plan B? on: March 27, 2014, 05:44:33 PM
USD is world fiat reserve currency

Bitcon is world crypto reserve currency

when crypto is adopted bitcoin will be the reserve currency

So just for shits and giggles, let us say that a sunspot storm, terrorist act or mechanical failure knocks out the power grid across the USA.

Where is your Bitcoin God then?

My $.02.

Wink

Then I'd say we have much larger problems than our BTC
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi isn't dead, just HODLING on: March 07, 2014, 03:53:53 AM
repost:

If this post proves that the real Satoshi is indeed alive and still observing the evolution of bitcoin, does this concern anyone else that he can still do anything, at anytime, with his mountains of coins?

We have known that this has been a possibility all along, but if the post is authentic, it means that he hasn't simply "walked away" from Bitcoin and is still keeping tabs on it. It makes me a little more uncomfortable to know that one person with that kind of capital leverage is quietly observing everything with unknown intentions......

Concerning his intentions, I doubt Satoshi has any ill will toward his own creation.  If anything, like many/most/maybe all of us on here hope for, he believes that BTC will become a much more dominant force than it currently is

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Get an invite?  Cheesy I could suggest better methods.... Grin

Of course I had it photoshoped right away, how else could the craftsmen know how to repair it?

That the building exists, you can easily find from wikipedia and google maps "Malla, Estonia".

wow, once that place is renovated it's going to be beautiful.  congratulations to rpietila on the purchase

I just wanted to tell you that I am finalizing the purchase of Malla Manor this week, and we will have a party there starting Friday.

Malla will be (probably) the first high-class Bitcoin retreat centre in the world. 100% owned by me, it offers 5000 sqm floor area (some under renovation) and currently 127 acres of land. The property is in the middle of beautiful countryside in Estonia, just 1 hour from Tallinn airport.

That looks incredible.  Are you planning to use it as a residence as well or will it function as a gathering point for elite BTC-ers?

How can you possible know the number of people in any category since lots of people can easily have more than 1 wallet?

That is why the thread is so long because we do research, not just copypaste numbers.

I was able to get 95% of my BTC out of Gox at $960. My last smallest transaction failed. I think I may have been one of the very last people to successfully make it out of there.  Undecided

Hello people.

My girlfriend is in her final year of a degree at the University of Cambridge. She has decided to do her dissertation on 'Crypto Currencies - What are they, and do they have a future?'. We would be very grateful if fellow users of Crypto Currencies could complete the survey linked below.
