1  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [ANN] Eloipool - FAST Python3 pool server software - GBT/stratum/dyntarget/proxy on: March 14, 2014, 09:46:53 PM
The exception I was getting with bitcoinrpc was addressed by following jgarzik's steps in the avalon/eloipool thread... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=158105.0

Quote

eloipool setup

python-bitcoinrpc       https://github.com/jgarzik/python-bitcoinrpc
...
2) For python-bitcoinrpc, check out an older release,

Code:
$ cd /repo/python-bitcoinrpc
$ git checkout -b solo-mining 770881c8bd9b1f92427290270b37a28751cf9df0

So... that part is good. I keep getting the following exception though.

Code:
2013-11-23 03:58:18,716 StratumHandler  DEBUG   Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "./eloipool.py", line 668, in receiveShare
    checkShare(share)
  File "./eloipool.py", line 506, in checkShare
    MWL = workLog[None]
KeyError: None

During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/home/foo/build/eloipool/stratumserver.py", line 91, in found_terminator
    rv = getattr(self, funcname)(*rpc['params'])
  File "/home/foo/build/eloipool/stratumserver.py", line 199, in _stratum_mining_submit

    logShare(share)
  File "./eloipool.py", line 651, in logShare
    share['solution'] = b2a_hex(swap32(share['data'])).decode('utf8')
KeyError: 'data'

2013-11-23 03:58:18,720 JSONRPCServer   INFO    Nobody to longpoll

I am wondering if I should be concerned that eloipool won't be handling winning shares correctly.

Anyone work around this?

Did you ever get a solution for this?
LukeJr -- any ideas what causes this?

Hi guys I need help this issue.

I have some concerns. I sent an email to bitmaintech and I have no answer.

I bought an antminer Feb 16th 11:00pm Beijing Time and I don't have  a shipping update yet. It was supposed to be shipping in 48 hours according with bitmaintech.com , now it is pulling that they are beginning the shipping Feb 28th. Please, if you are going to shipping my order in Feb 28th I prefer that you refund me the payment back.

order# 00120140216155717946uUcFFBpq06DA

Thank you so much.

If it was in the Feb 18 batch you will get it.
All others got it and nobody (I think) got a shipping update or email.

I've ordered from them twice and I got shipping notifications both times including a tracking number.

Go check your orders page on their site. Your order should have a shipping status of either shipped or not shipped. You do not have to wonder.

Does anybody know how long does it take to get an email order confirmation?  I Paid a few hrs ago.
I don't think I've ever got an order confirmation. The process both times I've ordered was:
You place the order. You get a bill (BTC). You pay the bill (BTC). You can check your account page on their site to see when it shows as paid (after a BTC  confirmation or two). That's it.

EDIT: You do get notification when shipping actually occurs.

... 1.45BTC was a bit priey 2 weeks ago. in 2 weeks from now, its risky
...

I guess if you think $6 (USD) per GH/s is too much then I can see your point...
Yes, I think klondike_bar's point was that $6 per GH/s may be too pricey in an absolute sense; the timeframe to recover the initial investment is 'too long for comfort'. The longer the timeframe, the more risk is involved, and the less attractive the investment becomes.

Obviously this is a subjective call. Some will feel that 1.45 BTC for this device is too high; others will feel it is not. Neither camp is necessarily 'wrong', but it is important to understand that these are opinions. The fact that there is no clear concensus on this suggests that Bitmain has priced the product 'just right' for today's market. If everyone believed 1.45 BTC was too high, then Bitmain would have very few sales. If everyone thought 1.45 BTC was a bargain and started buying these things up like there was no tomorrow, then obviously Bitmain chose a price that is too low.

But here we have people with different opinions, suggesting that the price is just right. As the weeks progress, I expect future Antminer batches to be priced lower to reflect the reduced earnings potential due to increased difficulty. Clearly if the price doesn't go down in the future, sales will dry up as more people form the opinion that a 180GH/s 1.45 BTC device will not be able to mine 1.45 BTC in a 'reasonable timeframe'.

Yes. I agree. I think Klondike must have meant $6 is too much per Gh no matter what (ie. the entire market is overpriced). That's fine - it is certainly a matter of opinion involving a lot of factors. But IF Klondike were talking in relative terms, relative to the rest of the market, it's still a bargain rather than being pricey.

I vote to make a 1% donation compulsory. Those that don't like it can go to BTC Guild  (3%) of Ghash

Cheers

That's not a donation. It's a fee. Don't mistake the two - in any circumstance.

Ok. So help me out with this hypothetical situation if you think that was pricey. Bob has $5k in his pocket right now. He wants to spend it on mining hardware. Please find Bob somewhere that he can get 800GH/s or more within 14 days. Not in April. Not in May. Alice's pockets are not quite as deep. She's got $1000... can you find 180 Gh/s that can be in hand within 14 days?

I guess if you think $6 (USD) per GH/s is too much then I can see your point...

Did anybody manage to get some yesterday. I was out most of the day but every time i had a look still could not order.

I wonder if they will still be charging 1.45 BTC when they start selling again 1.45BTC on mtgox = £357:00

I was wondering the same. They might go up in price because the BTC are a little less valuable today. But they might go down because the difficulty is about to go up and a given miner will now be expected to produce less BTC each. Anyone's guess I suppose.

Either way I wouldn't think you can count on MTGOX for exchange rates. After all, if your money is just going to get stuck there (you can't ever cash it out) then of course the value of any coins stored there is just going to keep going down.

Personally, I use coinbase.com to get a feeling for "real USD value" and to transfer between the two. Why? Because I can send BTC there and immediately cash it out into my bank account at their listed rate. Big buying sucks though. I could have bought several more ant miners if it didn't take 4 "business days" to convert USD to BTC for amounts over $1000 USD. I bought my BTC on a Wednesday and it took until the next Tuesday to see the funds. And while my BTC were "in flight" all the crap with MtGox went down and they devalued by 20%... all that said, it is still the easiest / safest solution I've found thus far for going between the two.

EDIT: I just noticed you listed your quote from mtgox in non USD... so my comments about coinbase might not be applicable to you. my bad.

I placed an order about 1 week ago and got it within 5 days. That was for two s1.

I was able to place another order two days ago due to a fluke on their site (order page was working even though front page showed out of stock). Shortly after i placed my order they fixed the order page so it was also disabled and then they posted their note about limited quantities coming available soon. I got nervous that my order would get lost since I did it through a fluke. But it did ship!

Having dealt with them twice I'm a believer. Reasonable pricing, fast shipping, decent communication.

LOL....  We all are beleibers my friend.  "Beliebers" get it....  Anyway.  It does no good for us to believe if we cannot get the product.  Cmon bitmain, I live in the USA so make me a distributor or an assembler of the product so you guys can make more money.  Expand!

I understand. Your comment is EXACTLY why I posted. I was trying to give some insight into my experience with bitmaintech - you decide whether to consider it valuable or not.

FWIW I contacted them about becoming a distributor. I eventually heard back (3 emails I sent over 3 days to two different contacts), but in the end all they said was that they would be releasing more soon and that I should "follow" their site. That's when I found out that they were "out of stock", but the order page still let me order the amount I'd mentioned I wanted.

If you want I'm willing to sell you 1 or both of my first order with power supplies and power supply testers (no macgyverism paper clip trick required). I planned to sell them after about 45 days of mining in the end, but I'll sell them now for a NICE markup over what I paid - I've got more on the way. Of course, I'm not sure why you'd trust me any more than you would anyone else... except that I can provide video evidence of them running.

How long after paying does bitmain send a confirmation email, and how long does it typically take for your account page to say "paid"?

It looks like i got the confirmation email from 'webmaster@bitmaintech.com' within just a few minutes. The confirmation I'm talking about is actually the "bill". You must pay it within an hour (via BTC) to an address they set up for you. After I paid I don't think I ever got another email until it shipped. But if you log in to your account and go to orders you'll see your orders and their status. It tells you the order status (is it legit in their mind I guess?), the paid status, and the shipping status (either shipped or not shipped). I looks to me like it's either 1 or two confirms before they show as paid on the orders listing page.

After it shipped I got another email that said that it shipped... including tracking number.
