There are probably people with a much bigger brain than mine, with much better blockchain skill than mine and that might be able to find the coins.

The coins are on the move, let's find them !!

There is no doubt that OG has been doing a good job keeping those BTC safe.
However, he is not immortal and a car crash or anything could end him (hopefully you have a long and happy  life!)

So it is not about the "trust" it is about the "what if" inherent to us living in a world that is safe but not empty of tragedies.

In that case, why not a 1-out-of-2  multisig option with Theymos and OG having a key.

OG is still in charge of the coins as treasurer, the back-up being Theymos also having a key.
Both could spend the coins if needed.

I don't mean to reactivate the animosities but the amount of merit spent on this is crazy. Nor to see who earned the most merit in this. Just the quantity of merit "wasted" on something that is not really contributing to the wider Bitcoin community (just a fight between two early adopters).

If there was a ranking of topics, some of those might show higher than very interesting talks about lightning network, or mining or else.

Hey guys, just a reflexion here.

In the case of Mt Gox the only asset the exchange had was BTC and $
So they sold the BTC to return to people that lost their money based on $.

In the case of Cryptopia, only people that had coins that were "stolen" are at lost.
The other clients shouldn't be impacted.


Why the liquidator would sell my "not'hacked" balance of coins to pay me back a lesser amount for something that didn't happen to me?


Example with "storage units",
I have a storage unit, I Store a valuable car inside.
The company that manages the units goes under (let's say storage king USA).
The liquidator is not going to open my storage unit to sell my car to pay the debts of the company.
However, the liquidator will sell the assets owned by the company to repay creditors.



What do you think ?
