Susan Carleton Athey is an American economist. She is a professor of economics at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining Stanford, she was a professor at Harvard University.

It's interesting that I read all these replies from you guys about the article.  Any of you are Harvard professors of economy??

Let's leave the economics of currency to those who understand it better than us.

A good article.  The BTC community needs more of those people.

Thank you guys for the feed back.

I've heard openions of people who seem not to be mining BTC.  But I haven't heard from anyone who is mining BTC and what they think of the KNC Neptune?

I am mining scrypt now. Dogecoin to be precise.  I started with LTC, but after a week, I realized that 1.48LTC per week wasn't worth it that much.  Switched to Doge and the numbers seem to make more sense.

However, to get 10MH/s speeds, I would need to invest over $10,000 in multiple rigs, BIG wattage use to see a return in 4,5 or 6 months

With the KNC Neptune, the numbers are promising.  Yes, it's not available now. Yes it's not coming until few months and Yes, the difficulty will be going up.  But it still shows faster return than the same amount invested in scrypt.

And this is why I wanted to hear from those who are mining to see if it's a good idea or NOT.

Thank you guys for the info and advice.

What about the KNC Neptune?? It's being offered again for $10,000USD

Do you guys think it's worth getting now?  Will that make it's initial investment and then some more?

Hi Guys

Lately I've been seeing avalon 2 for sale on our local kijjiji.  They are claiming that it's 220-240GH/s and they are asking $3000 - 3500 for it. I don't know much about bitcoins and the speed of hashing needed now to regain the investment.

So my question to you guys that are experienced is, would it be worth getting one or two of those now?  those are sold for Canadian dollars and not taxes, straight cash.

mining calculators shows about 80 days to regain my investment.  Is this pretty accurate for those that are mining now?

And finally, anyone used those miners and what are your thoughts of them?

Thank you.
