1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] EntropyCoin [ENC] Scrypt-N on: June 27, 2014, 11:39:37 PM
I'm from the United States. I sure hope my engish is good, haha. I don't know why people dumped the coin and there wasn't a pump. There was a huge buildup prior to going to MintPal. In my opinion, it was a coordinated effort by a group of people that decided to ditch the coin and take off with some quick BTC. I also agree that there are not many coins that have changed algorithms after being released. I am still here, and will continue to develop it.

I would ask that you please not remove it from your Exchange. We are working on adding a split block reward that will be used to bring back a human mineable component to the coin. Thank you.

de_logics, that is a great thread. Thank you for posting it.

The project I am working on is not part of the coin source code. If I were to explain it at a high level would give away the idea, as I have mentioned before. When it is completed it will be made available, but it is going to take a while. And again, has nothing to do with the wallet.

What I have asked for is input from the community on the direction of the coin itself. There are plenty of complaints saying that the coin needs further development, so I've been asking for ideas of what exactly you would like incorporated into the code. Proof of stake for example was talked about, but thrown out as it has been damaging to other coins. I will work on the code independent of this if I see something innovative come along.

I am not going anywhere, and am committed to the coin. I refused to sell out when it hit MintPal because that's not the reason I am in it. We had strong community support at that time and I did not anticipate such a large selloff. As I said before, this coin has some strengths which should put it far and above the standard scrypt coins out there. We need a push to drive the value back up and generate more interest. In the meantime, you're right, it doesn't make sense for anyone to sell. It is surprising to me that people wouldn't haven held at a much higher price, but not much can be done about that.

We have reached out to the community to ask for a list of features they would like to see implemented. The community, to this point, has had no suggestions. There was a major dump of coins when we hit mintpal. Those individuals cared more about a quick sell than the coin. Read the thread before claiming I'm not around. The same number of coins are in circulation, so there is a perfect opportunity for a pump. The coin is not dead, it is lacking a community. As I have said repeatedly, on a technical level the coin is fine. In fact, the coin is far superior to every scrypt clone out there since it is asic resistant. It is an opportunity to rally, pump the coin, and increase its value.

BenjaminFranklin, this thread has information about the fact that that particular blockchain explorer was incorrect. There are also postings from each of the pools that upgraded their wallets last week when the update went out. The pools that I know to be on the correct fork are BecausePool and 0feepool. But, you can check with the others as well to be sure.

I think you meant to say, there are people that are not serious about the coin. Every coin goes through forks and has new versions available. We're going on a week now where everyone was given ample notification and time to update. That blockchain explorer is incorrect which is why it was removed from the OP and mentioned as being incorrect days ago! The operator of that site was notified and has chosen not to maintain it. He was also paid to host it for a year and given btc to do so.

From a technical standpoint, the coin is completely stable. It made it through the fork even though there was an active attempt at taking over the blockchain. The current price is not that great, but that has more to do with a massive coordinated dump by people who wanted to make quick money, than anything else.

enc.apool.pl is not listed, so no clue what you are talking about. Yes, it does suck for all of those miners, as well as the coin. The pool was contacted multiple times and given the same notice as everyone else. The designation of "official" was just intended to to steer miners towards it. Most of you haven't been around very long or you would know that, for quite some time there was only one pool. We had to give a bounty to get more pools online at that time. The designation has been removed for all pools. I have never had a special arrangement or affiliation with ANY pool.

Now, to answer the question, the KGW vulnerability is fixed (meaning it is no longer used). It was replaced by DigiShield when the hard fork occurred.

THIS POOL (enc.apool.pl) IS NOW DELISTED! THEY ARE STILL ON THE WRONG FORK!

Do not mine there! This is getting to the point where it is hostile behavior. If you are mining there, please notify them that everyone mining there is doing so for nothing. The exchanges have been updated to the correct fork. A new version is going to be published with checkpoints with the correct fork, and everyone there is going to lose the fraudulent coins!

enc.apool is not affiliated with ENC. They were put as the "official pool" a while back as they had quite a few miners. Everyone was given fair warning about the fork. Please direct the question to them as to why they didn't update.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] EntropyCoin [ENC] Scrypt-N - Mandatory Wallet Update on: June 14, 2014, 07:26:35 AM
Yes, the block explorer is on the wrong fork. They have been notified. Apparently no one wants to read the notifications that a fork is going to occur.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] EntropyCoin [ENC] Scrypt-N - Mandatory Wallet Update on: June 14, 2014, 02:07:04 AM
This includes the block explorer, thank you berric for letting me know. This message went out on Tuesday to everyone. Several messages were sent out following that indicating that a fork was coming, as anticipated, yesterday.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] EntropyCoin [ENC] Scrypt-N - Mandatory Wallet Update on: June 14, 2014, 02:01:33 AM

The correct fork has the following value for block 98773

getblockhash 98773
f0f4c53efd2ba306b273a59c252d4c733a52e1d5ac09fe63fad23533d1535f55

If you do not see this value, you are on the wrong fork and need to update your wallet and resync!

0feepool is currently on the correct chain

enc.apool.pl appears to not be on this chain. If you are mining there, please contact them immediately to let them know. I have already sent a message as well.

I just got word that MintPal has been updated. I'm not sure about Poloniex, contacting them now.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] EntropyCoin [ENC] Scrypt-N - Mandatory Wallet Update on: June 13, 2014, 10:03:23 PM

Everyone was given notice including pools and exchanges who were contacted directly. The notification went out more than 48 hours before the change.

asemov, yes, that looks like the correct fork.

Please make sure you have upgraded the Entropycoin Wallet to v0.9.2. THe is a hard fork in less than 200 blocks. I sent an email a few days ago and didn't receive a response. Just want to make sure you're aware.

Thank You!

Several of you are still on the old wallet. Upgrade Immediately to 0.9.2! The hard fork is coming in less than 300 blocks!!!
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] EntropyCoin [ENC] Scrypt-N - Mandatory Wallet Update on: June 12, 2014, 05:42:33 PM
I have a project I am working on that will be innovative and related to ENC. Until that is released, the same claim could be made about most coins. This started as a scrypt coin and was upgraded to scrypt-n when it was determined that asics would be hitting the market. Also, openssl updated immediately. After including KGW, which was so innovative it had be replaced, I'm a bit hesitant to just go throwing new ideas into the code base.

If you have suggestions, I would be happy to entertain them.
