The government definitely can affect Bitcoin's price with either bad or good news. Just imagine if CoinBase ceases to exist along with Kraken and many of the top and most trusted exchanges. Prices would bottom for sure.

It is possible but it takes someone famous like John Mcafee or much more popular to setup a pump. I am also not sure if it is a healthy move as there would inevitably be a dump afterwards.

It will happen sooner or later. Right now this is all still new technology. It reminds me back when Aol 2.0 came out. One of the first internets I used with a 56k modem.
