Can i install this on ubuntu (headless)? I am building the instandex servers and need this to run. Any help?

Yes, just download the latest version. Then, on Ubuntu, run start_server.sh.

Magician

It runs great, only it eats very much resources. Almost 5GB of RAM and 50% CPU. Can this be fine tuned?

Yes, you should actually probably use start_rpc.sh instead. In the main directory, there is a php file and a python file showing the available RPC functions.

Statistics found that the balance after betting incorrectly.

Balance is:889.8394

Balance should be:999-10-10+7.53+9-20+10.6+8.91-20+6.14+9.8+6.78-20+19.6+19.6 = 1016.96

A total of 127.12CHA is missing.

The balances issue should be fixed as of right now. Sorry about that!

Fellow Chancecoiners,

We're excited to announce the launch of the Chancecoin Web casino! You can access it by going to http://chancecoin.com. No download is required!

We still support the Chancecoin desktop software (currently version 2.9), but we expect that for many of you, the Web casino will be your primary way of using Chancecoin from now on.

Have a look and try it out. We'd love to hear your feedback and about any bugs you may find.

We expect to begin promoting Chancecoin heavily in the coming months now that the Web wallet is up and running.

Cheers,
Magician and Venetian

i was sending about 29 CHA from my wallet to poloniex just for testing, somehow it didn`t arrive and i checked blockchain and it shows as 2 transactions of 0.0000078 btc....can somebody tell me what happened?

my wallet address: 1GcTaYN6iG9Pa83LvUG4VKvXu6WskuV5Cw
and this is the address i tried to send to poloniex : 1JdvYvmK57YqrhTg8UzbMJAZUsgiNWhcPv
the same problem, but i sent 1885 CHA. Cry Cry

You should check with Poloniex. That address did in fact receive the 29 CHA, it just hasn't showed up at Poloniex yet. See http://chancecoin.com/wallet?address=1JdvYvmK57YqrhTg8UzbMJAZUsgiNWhcPv.

Magician

well, this is CHA address right?how do you explain that 0.00051559 btc then for i only send CHA? beside i couldn`t provide poloniex a txid that i was sending the coins..so tell me please what should i say to poloniex?

1JdvYvmK57YqrhTg8UzbMJAZUsgiNWhcPv is the deposit address Poloniex gave you, right? Just tell them there is CHA there that you sent. What did they say to you?

The CHA blockchain is built on top of the Bitcoin blockchain, hence any CHA transaction involves a small BTC fee.

Why gamblers still use casinos site ?
Is gambling making them stupid ?  Roll Eyes
http://www.coinfinance.com/news/dicebitco-in-unmasked-as-a-scam-as-casino-steals-over-3-million

Every single Crypto-Casino will end up doing this because you cannot trust a greedy human.
Trustless system like Chancecoin is the only way.

Yeah, that is it.

chancecoin is the future  Grin

I envision a future like something out of a Neo-Tokyo cyberpunk movie, with some Japanese teenagers in funny Google glass style optics interacting with a 3D, holographic render of a decentralized Chancecoin wallet/ATM. With a simple hand swipe gesture, a yellow die, appears before their eyes and they watch as it tumbles in digital space. They watch eagerly until the die settles down, awaiting the result, as they continue betting away their useless and heavily inflated digital Yen, in the hopes of earning meager, satoshi-like portions of CHA. They will look back at these posts and wonder how crazy we were to bet away all this money... and we will just laugh, comfortably from the luxury of our mansions, while our grandchildren surround us and ask us to tell them stories about the times we had nothing. About the times that we took the little BTC we had left and "took a chance on Chancecoin."

I'm going long on CHA. "Take a chance on Chancecoin."

Agreed!  Cool

James already knows about CHA and even though he didn't really investigate much (I sent him a solisiting PM once) he thought it was a cool project. (I am paraphrasing).

So even though he now has his own gambling projects I think he won't object to having such a cool coin in the superNET.

If he says no, please let me know, I am a sweettalker Wink

I also PM James why I think Chancecoin will be a great addition to superNET (even though he is all ready invested in privatebet)

I got a response back from the application email and provided some additional information. Thanks for the support, peled and TwinWinErD. I'll let you know if we need more of it! I looked at James' privatebet project and it seems orthogonal enough to Chancecoin that they can be in the SuperNET together.

Magician

Support and praise chancecoin technological innovative achievements is the little we can do to help our master sensei.  Smiley
Thank you for the updates!

They said they've received our information and will get back to us in a few days once they've decided. Smiley

I'm all for SuperNET. The only problem I see so far, and the reason we haven't applied to join yet, is that the cost is not zero. My understanding is that SuperNET is going to want to hold 10% of our coin supply, and we're going to have to find a way to raise 50k CHA to give to them. (Correct me if I'm wrong here please.) Given that's the case, I ask the community, how can we make that happen?

If I understand correctly you don't "give them" 10% of our coin supply. SuperNET is going to buy 10% of the coin supply in poloniex or from users. That is why SuperNET is having a "big" crowd funding so they will have the btc they need in order to buy the coins they think are undervalued and have good potential to grow in the future.

edit: after verifying this with James (jl777), what i said above is correct. SuperNET is looking to purchase coins for their portfolio, it is not a donation of coins.

@devs please apply to join asap  Cheesy

I stand corrected. I sent an application to join the SuperNET. I will let you know when you hear back.

ATTENTION

SuperNET is a very interesting and innovative project that I think can put chancecoin in the spotlight it deserves if it will be added to the core of the Supernetwork.

More information about SuperNET here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=762346.0

I have tried to contact Magician and Venetian about SuperNET with no success. I know our awesome devs appreciate chancecoins community feedback so I wanted to let everyone know about this amazing opportunity and let the devs hear what you think.

I support Chancecoin added to the core of the Supernetwork.

I think Supernetwork will make CHA better.

As an update on other dev matters, Venetian and I have been working on the lite HTML wallet. This is a big undertaking so we don't have a target date yet. We plan to launch that before the bitcointalk ad campaign. In the meantime we are still looking to raise BTC for this.

my wallet version now is 2.8,since 2.7 with the missing bets..now it stuck in block 315,452,even i try reparsing or redownload the block chain..it always stop at 315,452...any idea how to fix it?
Try to delete the following folder '\resources\db' except 'wallet',Then open the client waiting to download the data,Maybe for several minutes.

i did delete 'db' file, but when try to open the wallet,it say '500 internal error'..so..my problem have't fix yet,it still stuck at 315,452,ty for the suggestion anyway....or do i have to delete entire 'resources' file?

Open a command prompt and run java -jar Chancecoin.jar. Then when the wallet starts, click "redownload blockchain." Then copy and paste what you see in the command line output here on the forum so we can see what's going on.

There was a bug caused by a change in one of the bitcoin APIs we use. I found it, squished it, and just released a new version. Instant betting works again. Good catch! Resume betting! Smiley

Magician

@devs, please check what is causing bets to get resolved only when new block is confirmed.
its hard to go back from Instant betting to 10 min betting  Wink

This is still being caused by temporary downtimes in the APIs we use. We're going to add an indicator of whether these APIs are fully functioning to the next version.  Smiley

Magician

I have a bet that is pending for over 24 hours...
what do you recommend me to do?

Does the transaction show up in the blockchain (as pending?)

You might be able to see it on blockchain.info, or you click "Wallet" and then click your BTC balance to see if you see an unconfirmed transaction there. If you can tell me the transaction hash I'll look into why it's still pending/unresolved. (Or maybe it never made it to the blockchain).

Is this related to bitwatch? Wey, please tell me, if something like this happens. I'm passive reader here, but still.. Wink

FWIW I have another server already available, but didn't had the time to migrate yet..

You may also sign up for downtime notifications -- it didn't happen until now, so I'm not sure, if it works at all, but this feature appears to be new on bitnodes.io:

https://getaddr.bitnodes.io/nodes/1409015334/?q=bitwatch (click on the node, then you can subscribe)

While we're at it:

I noticed there were 93'206 requests from 1CHACHAGuuxTr8Yo9b9SQmUGLg9X5iSeKX out of a total of 117'301 over a timeframe of less than, but almost the last seven days. (this is a crazy growth btw) -- I noticed this address earlier and was wondering.. what exactly is this?

The API that's causing trouble is actually https://insight.bitpay.com/api/tx/. (We use this one to read some raw transaction data.) Bitwatch has been very reliable for us.

The 1CHACHA address is the one we use to receive live BTC bets. We have a server running that listens for transactions involving that address. Hence the extra traffic. Let us know if it's causing any strain.

The pump would be enormous.

I read XCP is planning to do so.

How do we get on bittrex? Do you have a connection you can use to get us there?
