1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best decentralized exchange for Bitcoin to fiat on: March 04, 2024, 10:42:11 PM
Thank you BitMaxz for your suggestions! Isn't Robosats only for bitcoin on the lightning network and not normal bitcoin?
Thank you everyone else for trying to help.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I have one more question. What are your recommendations for DEXs for crypto to crypto exchanges and swaps between different stablecoins? There should be no KYC or chance of fund freezing.
2  Economy / Exchanges / Best decentralized exchange for Bitcoin to fiat on: February 28, 2024, 07:23:14 PM
Hi there,

I would like to know what the people of Bitcointalk recommend as the best DEX to sell bitcoin for fiat? I want to avoid all CEXes.
I know about Bisq but dont want it cause it requires the traders to be online most of the time during the exchange.
Some friends have suggested Peach Bitcoin. Anyone here using it? What are your thoughts? Is their enough trades and liquidity for big deals?

Can you recommend something else that you have personally tested and where the fees are acceptable?

Thanks in advance.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is a good and functional mobile wallet for Tron and USDT? on: January 08, 2023, 06:02:49 PM
I dont know much about tron supported wallets but I only used trustwallet when using tron and never failed me to do some transactions. Got chance to use imtoken too but I think only once, also got good grief on using tron blockchain. But there are lots of new wallets I think. But based on experience, I could only recommend trustwallet for smooth transaction.
Did the wallet automatically take care of the energy and bandwidth that JeromeTash mentioned in his reply as soon as you deposited some tron to it or did you have to do something on your end?

Most of wallets that are recommended above are closed source, so they are safe for now, but no one knows what will happen in the future, so if you do not plan to invest large sums or for long periods, they are fairly good.
you can also try -----> https://unstoppable.money/
But if you want to store a long time, it is better for you to transfer your stablecoins into cash, given that stablecoins (USDT) may not be stable in the long term.
Unstoppable doesn't support tron or USDT over the tron network.

I have nothing else to add to the list already posted above. I just want to ask about those problematic wallets. Can you name at least one or two of them? Surely you still remember. Perhaps it's one of those custodial wallet and exchange like freewallet? There have been many complaints and testimonials of frozen funds.
The complaints I heard were about TronLink which is the network's official wallet I think.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is a good and functional mobile wallet for Tron and USDT? on: January 07, 2023, 10:39:44 PM
I've been using two wallets for TRON, this Trust Wallet and Atomic Wallet for a few years now. Pretty good for exchanging and storing TRX. Although, if you need a TRON wallet to connect to some services that support this network, it's better to use native TRON wallets, like TronLink.
I only need the wallet to work well with my TRX and USDT. No other services. Thanks!

The ones I use are Exodus and Trustwallet

The reason transactions fail mostly is because the is no Tron in the address to facilate the transaction or because the address is not yet activated (allocated energy and bandwidth by staking some small amount of Tron. Some software wallets can help do this for you automatically when creating or generating a Tron address)
When I generate a Tron address on Trust Wallet will the wallet take care of the energy and bandwidth allocation for me?

Hi everyone,

I need a some advice about which Tron wallet you would recommend for mobile phones? What have you personally used that you can say works well?
I have read that some wallets just dont work well and people have problems sending their coins out. Transactions are failing from time to time or users lose their tokens completely.

What should I use?
6  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: 3 questions about wallets and DEXs on: January 07, 2023, 06:11:36 PM
I apologize for not coming back sooner. Thank you for everything you proposed. Too bad that it is not good enough. I will check what wallets and options are available by asking in the altcoin section. Thank you for trying to help.
7  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: 3 questions about wallets and DEXs on: November 01, 2022, 12:02:54 PM
Thanks everyone who is trying to help.

From the wallets you people mention I think I will try Blue Wallet. I have heard of Mycelium but never of Schildbach. That answers my question about bitcoin wallets.

For the tron and tether wallets. Unstoppable Wallet and atomicdex.io were mentioned. I have never used these. Sorry o_e_l_e_o. I would also not use tether if I dont have to. What can I do when people keep turning down my offers to use bitcoin? I will have no one to trade with unless I do what others do. Using Unstoppable Wallet or atomicdex.io for the swap seems ok. Anyone with some experience with these exchanges and wallets that can comment how good they work?

Bear with me please. I dont post much but I am a lurker who comes by from time to time. I have noticed that this is a place in the forum where people get the help they need.

I have 3 questions for you.

1. I have some bitcoin which I am planning to sell soon. I prefer real meetups and peer to peer deals. For that I need a good mobile wallet that I can send my coins to that I am about to sell. I have heard only good comments about Electrum but the Desktop version. The Mobile app lacks in the features department. What is a good Android phone wallet I can use for bitcoin? Trusted, non custodial, supports PIN or passwords to unlock, and no bugs.

2. My second question is not about bitcoin. For some reason people like tether where I live. It can be difficult to find a bitcoin trader. They prefer you convert your coins to tether and send them that instead of bitcoin. My guess is they fear volatility? I dont like it but I have to adapt. Can someone also suggest a good mobile and Android wallet that works with Tether and Tron? Same options like with the bitcoin one please.

3. The only DEX I have read about is BISQ. I know nothing about it except that some consider it too difficult and overcomplex to use. Is there something else where I could convert my bitcoin to tether if I need tether? Only good DEXs please. I have had accounts being locked for months on popular exchanges and I dont want that again. Even if I want to trade live with people maybe it is not a bad idea to be able to withdraw USD or EUR from a DEX if possible to my own bank account. Do they work like that?

That is all I have for you. I am hopeful people here are experienced enough to help.

I want to thank everyone for their recommendations and thoughts. I still have not made up my mind but will do it soon. I like the fact that Mastering Bitcoin is a freely available resource. Is there anything else of a similar reputation available for free?
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What crypto book should I buy? on: December 10, 2020, 09:25:10 PM
@Crptomagma maybe I should have explained it better. When I said technical I meant that it shouldnt be understandable only to developers. The main focus shouldnt be on coding, different segments of the code and stuff like that. I still want the book to explain everything there is to know about bitcoin but in a way that regular people with no coding skills can follow.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What crypto book should I buy? on: December 10, 2020, 09:03:16 AM
@mk4 I have heard a lot of good things about Andreas Antonopoulos but most people would recommend Mastering Bitcoin. This is the first time I hear someone recommend The Internet of Money. What would you say is the difference between those two?

@tranthidung is the Mastering Bitcoin book available online the exact same as the one that is sold as a paperback? There seems to be several versions and editions of it. Which one should I go for?
12  Other / Beginners & Help / What crypto book should I buy? on: December 09, 2020, 10:30:54 PM
Ok, so I want to gift someone a book about cryptocurrencies for Christmas but I am not sure what to get. I want the book to interesting to read and not to complicated and technical so as not to become boring. It should still include everything there is to know about crypto and bitcoin.

What do you guys think I should get?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / My Ethereum transaction has been pending for over a month on: August 11, 2020, 09:07:11 AM
I tried to send an Ethereum transaction using https://www.myetherwallet.com/ over 40 days ago. I used a very low fee and seems it was not nearly enough. The transaction is now stuck and says pending. It doesnt look like it will be dropped and I am not sure what to do.

I tried to speed it up by adding more gas through Metamask but every time I do that I get an error in MEW and it fails. I read somewhere that I need to spend the same nonce with more gas for the transaction to be confirmed. I have no idea how to do that. Can someone help?

Has anyone faced similar issues wit stuck Eth transactions that couldnt be spent and how do I solve this?
What is going on with the fees and why is an ETH transaction more expensive than a Bitcoin transaction?

The two sources you shared are very helpful, thanks. But I have a question. SEO type of content seems to apply to websites and individual blogs. Will such optimized content work on a Steemit blog or reddit? Have you tried writing SEO content yourself?
16  Other / Off-topic / I need help learning about SEO friendly content on: January 30, 2020, 01:04:25 PM
OK, so I have this friend who is a sports physician and chiropractor. He is planning to advertise himself but for some reason he doesn't have time creating a website. I want to help him out and since I am confident that I can write some nice content I told him I would help him out.

I was thinking of creating blogs on Medium, Steemit, reddit, a twitter profile and so on.
I have no experience with SEO writing but I am a quick learner and I will learn it.

I am sure there are a lot of fake SEO experts and people just looking to make money on beginners like me so I wanted to ask you all for some help.
Can you suggest what I should look for? Which tutorials and videos do you find helpful on this topic?

In addition to that, is it possible to get your Medium, Steemit and other blog posts ranked decently on Google?

Thanks a lot
17  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Updating from Electrum 3.3.6 to 3.3.8 on: August 15, 2019, 07:16:39 AM
Thanks HCP for confirming that it is a scam site! Seems my previous post that contained the PM got deleted by the mods.
I will report his PM to admins, anything else I can do from my end?

I got it sorted out. Thanks to those who tried to help.
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Question about installing software within a sandbox on: August 10, 2019, 10:54:12 AM
There is this game that I want to play badly. It is an old game and hard to find. Any copies I find on the internet seem infected with malware or they could be false positives since anti virus software tag them as malware.

In any case I dont want to risk it and install potential malware on my system.
I thought about installing the game within a sandox, would that work? Would the game be playable from within the sandbox?

I have no experience with this and would appreciate some help.
20  Bitcoin / Electrum / Updating from Electrum 3.3.6 to 3.3.8 on: July 30, 2019, 10:47:02 AM
I currently have Electrum version 3.3.6 installed and want to update to the newest 3.3.8 version. Of course I will download from the official https://electrum.org/#download website and verify the corresponding signatures.

I dont remember If I downloaded the Standalone Executable or the Windows Installer when I installed the 3.3.6 version. Does it matter and can I download either one to perform the update?
