1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Stop loss feature in Exchanges on: June 19, 2019, 03:38:16 PM
Quote
Stop loss features is very important and necessary for a trader. Cause we can safe our money after start market fall. If we set our stop loss at some reasonable loss then we can safe from big losses.

I agree, my exchange has stop loss and I wouldn't use one without it. Particularly because I margin trade and short which obviously incurs a greater risk. It allows me to add additional funds to a position that seems to be going off the rails if I feel the market will turn back around to my favor - but with a limit that I feel comfortable with. I like the option to use a variety of order types like protection and OCO as offered by primexbt. This is a good variety for me to maximize my profit potential at the same time as minimizing the risk of loss.  Also being able to trade on the go with an app to prevent getting stopped out early when using a stop loss is incredibly valuable if, again, the market looks like it will recover.

awesome work! Good luck, I hope you maintain your wins and enjoy many more. You seem to know your shit! Kudos Smiley
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you think so please stop! on: June 18, 2019, 06:22:02 PM
Just so you know that we have short and long term trading.

Perhaps, short term trader did that and long term traders are usually holders.

Therefore I don't see any wrong if people will convert it to fiat and besides we don't know at what price they entered. What if they're already fine with the profit they got and want to be on a safe side. Thus, they can still buy again when it dump, that's the usual thing for a trader though.

We all have difference preference, so no need to rant.

I back this, also at what point is it 'acceptable' to withdraw your profit and enjoy the payoff?

I also agree with the OP saying that hodlers shouldn't be called greedy, that is just silly too. To each their own! If we all cashed out at the same time then BTC would surely crash right??  Unless what your saying is that it will be the main currency of the future and we will be able to enjoy our earnings by using it as a means of paying our way in day-to-day living...? But I personally feel we are still a way off that. Depends on where you are in your life personally, some people may not be able to wait 5-10 years. Or maybe you are only 16-17 yrs old and have all the time in the world, etc.  Ultimately we all trade or hodl to become wealthy...it's not exactly fun (although it can be at times).
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Margin trading victims and how to avoid losses on: June 18, 2019, 06:10:51 PM
It seems crazy to me that people invest so much capital into margin trading. IMO, the benefit of doing it is that you don't need to invest and risk as much in the first place. I think the key is to be 100% comfortable with the fact that you could lose it all and decide whether the potential gains in the outcome of a successful trade is worth the risk of losing it all if unsuccessful.  It is essentially a gamble if you use as much as 100x because a price action of just 1% can liquidate your position near instantly.  I say either don't invest what you can't afford to lose, or don't use high leverage. If you wanna risk $100 for the opportunity to turn it into significantly more, then, by all means, go ahead - that seems like a fair trade-off to me. Just be aware of the risks. Also, you could try to hedge with an opposing position if possible.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you trust FB with your KYC details? on: June 18, 2019, 05:53:34 PM
The coin will succeed since Facebook is a trusted platform.

I don't believe that it is trusted...most people know how untrustworthy FB is and use it anyway (guilty). I'm not an active user now but have invested so much into it already, like the picture albums shared over the years - which for me is nostalgic of my youth. I'd have to spend a week downloading all the pictures and recording them to a timeline in the same way.  Probably the best possible move I could and should make to be honest.

As far as a cryptocurrency organized by FB, I do not and will not trust it.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Be careful with fake exchanges on: June 18, 2019, 05:46:35 PM
Genuinely appreciate the friendly reminder, it's easy to get comfortable and slip if you are familiar with the real version of the service provider. It definitely cares to pay extra attention in this industry.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you making money in this bear market? on: June 07, 2019, 10:29:36 AM
It is certainly very possible to earn in bear markets, provided you use the right strategy at the right time, namely short selling. Since this thread was started in 2018 more and more trading platforms are cropping up to either increase their leverage allowance (okex went from 2x to 5x) or to incorporate margin trading for the first time (binance introducing it soon). Then there's bitmex who has dominated the field for the last few years with 100x and primexbt who launched early this year to also offer 100x and is incredibly popular for such a young exchange.

The growing trend has much to do with the demand of traders wishing to short sell and earn in both rising AND falling markets.  While it is inherently a riskier way of trading you can invest less capital at the same time by increasing the position size with leverage. They key is to understand the risk if you wish you enjoy the augmented reward.

Alternate strategies include: simply buying more while the price is low (provided you feel the market will correct and hopefully go much higher), futures, binary options, and as mentioned (and by far the most popular method) is shorting by margin trading.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency user friendly? on: June 07, 2019, 10:02:25 AM
In some cases, yes and in many cases no... there are some incredible apps emerging out there but generally speaking it is not user-friendly by definition as the UX is foreign to what most people are used to. Bridges are being built however and education will only get better. It's only a matter of time! There are too many people behind BTC for it to not be built up and upon.
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Rumors confirmed: Binance margin trading coming soon on: May 30, 2019, 08:56:35 AM
For a few weeks now, rumors have been circulating that Binance is preparing to release a margin trading feature. First, revealing code was found in the platform’s API documentation by a random programmer. Next, Binance posted a screenshot image on Twitter to showcase the dark/light interface display, however, in doing so incidentally leaked imagery of a new “margin” tab.

Not long after the detail was noticed, a Binance official confirmed the rumors stating that the exchange will be launching margin trading feature...“soon”.

The addition of margin trading will mean that traders can open both long and short positions, and thus capitalize both rising and falling markets.

It should come at no surprise that Binance wants a piece of the margin trading capital, after the two 100x leveraging exchanges, Bitmex and Primexbt, reached their highest trading volumes ever - Bitmex hit $10 billion in 24hours on the 12th May, and PrimeXBT’s user base grew by a whopping 300% in the same week.

It’s not yet been confirmed how much leverage Binance will be offering...

So far, the major exchanges that offer margin trading and their leverage allowances include:

Poloniex - up to 2.5x
Bitfinex - up to 3.3x
Huobi - up to 5x
Kraken - up to 5x
OkEX - up to 5x
PrimeXBT - up to 100x
BitMEX - up to 100x

How high do you think Binance will go?

12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HODL IS THE BEST OPTION FOR ME NOW on: May 11, 2019, 06:31:55 PM
HODL - Tommy Lee agrees...

"As Bitcoin skyrocketed into the weekend, Tom Lee from Fundstrat was on hand with an interesting statistic. Namely, that Bitcoin generally generates all of its performance within just ten days. Miss those 10 days and your average is 25% down annually since 2013.

WELL THAT PUTS A BIT OF A DOWNER ON THINGS

Does it? It’s a great (in terms of interesting, not ‘yay!’) statistic, but what does it actually mean? And how would you calculate a figure like that?

Luckily, Lee included a useful diagram..."

13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exchanges with OCO orders? on: March 29, 2019, 03:20:21 PM
I used to trade on Bitfinex and recently switched to Prime XBT which also has OCO orders. Bitfinex gave me a taste for small scale leverage trading and shorting - but with the recent state of the sideways market, I've upped my game with higher leverage (Prime XBT offers up to 100x) to amplify small price actions without putting all my capital on the line.  This allows me to hedge my portfolio with diversification to reduce risk.  Other orders include stop-loss, protection, market, limit, and OCO as mentioned.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2019 No Bull Run, the Bull is Sleeping on: March 26, 2019, 10:38:25 AM
I would agree we are in a phase waiting for the dust to settle from all the crap projects, but clear signs of life and quality altcoins are breaking through or becoming distinguished from their phony counterparts.  I would expect to see a bull run by the end of 2019... if not early 2020.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Bull is in the Crypto Arena on: March 26, 2019, 10:29:32 AM
Once enough people believe a bull run is coming - there will be a bull run (as a result of positive sentiment). It's a self-fulfilling prophecy!
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What made you fall in love with crypto? on: March 19, 2019, 12:17:43 PM
cryptocurrency and blockchain have created a world of opportunity - in so many ways! As we advance as a civilization, it's harder to be extraordinary and do something different that hasn't already been done before.  This technology allows us to create and build upon it in new and ingenious ways... Also, who doesn't love the idea of a democratized financial system?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you have to take risks. on: March 12, 2019, 04:37:36 PM
As the famous quote goes "nothing great ever came from comfort zones".

Essentially, anyone who participates in trade is a risk taker... Unless they're a whale! ...but even then still, there are no guarantees.
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which bitcoin exchange do you use on: March 12, 2019, 02:56:39 PM
I’ve used Bitfinex predominantly over the last few years, which has been great and gave me a taste for small scale leverage trading (3.3x) and shorting, but I recently just started using PrimeXBT to up my game with higher leverage (up to 100x) as a way to take advantage of the bear market and smaller price movements.  They’re both quite similar actually, with a clean and customizable interface + my must have order types.  Trading on PrimeXBT has allowed me to gear and diversify my portfolio so I can free up funds to jump on opportunities as they arise. Leverage is not for everyone as it is more risky for sure...but if you’re into it like me then I recommend Prime. Final notes: no KYC, min deposit only 0.001 BTC (as opposed to $10,000 USD w Bitfinex), and fees only 0.05% on all assets.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Kill the Bear Bring the Bull on: March 12, 2019, 09:56:42 AM
For the bull to come, Stop using binance and bitmex.
I do not understand. Be more specific.
I think that thanks to big exchanges like Binance and Bitmex we have big liquidity and Bitcoin and other altcoins can be easily exchanged in few seconds. And I am not talking about the trustworthy, these 2 exchanges are the most safe to use.

thanks for the translation! Tongue
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There will be many tokens that go to zero. on: March 12, 2019, 09:30:34 AM
100%. There are many already so many ICO's which somehow managed to get on exchange and have zero trading volume because they have zero value.  Just false promises.  That said though, it is shame for the rare high-quality projects...  I Believe the industry as a whole will recover though.
