Checkout the work-in-progress website! It's really coming along

Looking great. Some comments on this current state:

1. Logo should be more prominent somewhere, not just the little substitute for the D up in the top left.
2. Yellow highlighting and links doesn't look good among all the cooler color temperatures. Underlining or a background box upon hovering works. Light orange is better with blue if it needs to be a color. See this example from our corporate overlords for a blue/white website: http://www.mckinsey.com/insights
3. First image is negative and it's very busy/distracting with the white-on-white.
4. The favicon is a G for some reason.

Thanks for the feedback. All opinions do matter.

1. I'm not so sure. Putting a large logo in will detract from the site unless the whole word "darkcoin" is incorporated into the logo itself. Look at the Bitcoin website where the whole word is part of the logo and the "B" is really an icon of sorts.

2. I'll have a look at an orange. Personally I like yellow with blue, but that's just me.

3. OK, I'll have a look around for more stock images. If you want to can have a look on Shutterstock and suggest some. All suggestions help. I can always darken the blue overlay to make the images less distracting. Here's a few cheesy ones:

These images are costing me around $11 each so only recommend ones that you think would really work.

4. G as it's built on the Genesis Framework. As soon as we have a definite logo, I'll create the favicon.ico file.

At this stage we're getting very close to parking the design for now. We really need to get some content written and the site live. The design can always be revisited but need content to get indexed ASAP.

I'm sorry eduffield, but the first background with the lock.... it looks like a jail, LOL

I love the lock, but the grid with it.... immediate jail impression  Grin

Gah..... I'll have a look around and see what other stock images are available

I can do the website up if needed as that's my day job. New to mining learned a lot off this thread. Unfortunately can't afford any GPU miners and using EC2 is not profitable. Only way I can contribute to the community and happy to help. Might be even able to move to my VPS if hosting is an issue (that said if it attracts any DDOS attacks I might have to shut it down as to not affect my clients)

PM me

Hi

I have a question on http://drk.lotterymining.com/ and sorry to say I'm new to mining.

I have a few EC2 instances running on this pool and seems to be chugging along nicely. I'm on the leader boards http://drk.lotterymining.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool.

One of those stats confuses me and that's the DRK/Day. Based on my current stats, is that what I should be earning? But when I go to my dashboard I still have 0 Confirmed and 0 Unconfirmed. Am I doing something wrong?

And again, apologies for what will seem like a completely stupid question to most of you.

Hi guys....

Completely new to coin mining and figured I'd start with this tutorial. So first up, thanks a million for posting this how-to and it's gotten me most of the way there.

So I'm ssh'd into my instance and the first issue I have is editing the crontab to change the minerd entry. Can someone please tell me how to do that? I've done crontab -e and I can see an entry but cannot edit.

From there I thought I would try just running the command on this blog page: http://blog.kvvs.nl/?p=239/

./minerd -a X11 -o stratum+tcp://drk.lotterymining.com:4444 -u username.worker -p password

And changed the username, worker name and password as shown on the drk.lotterymining dashboard.

The message I'm getting back is

-bash: !mas: event not found

If anyone can point me in the correct direction it would be much appreciated.
