And, since you can print out a "cold" wallet, you can actually stash it under your mattress too.

the coin price are too high these days...
Uhmm...That's kind of the point. If it's a "cheap" coin then it's like the other 50,000 coins out there. Meaning, it ain't worth crap. To be a useful coin, it has to be worth something. At this point, I can make more money with my empty beer cans than 99% of digital currency will get me. (I do recycle them, I don't save them up for money) Or do you mean like stocks? Yeah, everybody wishes they bought M$, Google, Apple, way back when. I'd say most coins are cheap. Most will stay that way because that's what they're are worth - nothing. Some coins should do well, meaning they WILL cost more, meaning they will also be worth more. There aren't many I see that happening with. I think calling DNotes "expensive" is actually a good sign.

Hi guys ran into my first minor issue after the fork. I tried a manual cash out of the online pool I use, and while it shows confirmed on the pool and block details, I did not receive it http://altexplorer.net/tx/ef01d5eb170a11859d5b03522203c6f32cf5ccb3d72f7e83d275be19e07e59031845014 2014-06-02 23:57:04 Debit_MP Amount 1,317.22640783 Hash: ef01d5eb170a11859d5b03522203c6f3 2cf5ccb3d72f7e83d275be19e07e5903 Coin: DNote (NOTE) Block: c9b50fb33d9216022c14f4e24409ead6 2aa5295d12ac33c99f9509cf7b496275 Block Height: 150,660 Inputs: 8 (1325 NOTE) Outputs: 2 (1325 NOTE) Size: 1262 Bytes Fee: 0 NOTE Time: 2014-06-02 08:58PM PDT - See more at: http://altexplorer.net/tx/ef01d5eb170a11859d5b03522203c6f32cf5ccb3d72f7e83d275be19e07e5903#sthash.hhvTWjcq.dpufMy Dnote wallets last good received transaction was yesterday on an auto debit from the same pool. Status: 2897 confirmations Date: 6/1/2014 01:30 From: unknown To: Di4uhAgvvfAjm8hDptyotEgJUDmxsz5GQC (own address) Credit: 5046.62318327 NOTE Net amount: +5046.62318327 NOTE Transaction ID: 0ced6b6d3f808169aa1a8188f1451f4eec6bdf229be4374f4512fcb11853cce9 and I made sure I am using the v1.1.0.0 DNotes wallet. It says it has downloaded 151005 blocks of transaction history as of my post here. but the missing transaction was Block Height: 150,660 I have been leaving my DNotes wallet up 24/7 will advise if it clears tomorrow on it's own. Thanks in advance. Well, this shouldn't have affected it, since the time is before the block bonus even started, but I miscalculated or something, maybe in adding that secondary 100 NOTE bonus, and the pool wallet of what was held for users was more than the current total in the wallet sometime in the last few hours. Which is no problem, I had off-loaded reserves to cold wallet. Which I just sent some back so wallet total is now back over what is marked as held for users (plus more than enough to cover the end of the 100 Bonus). So I just tried a manual payout of my 3.455... balance and received it within a minute. But again, I don't believe that should have been the problem since it's showing confirmed and is out in the block chain. The pool just wouldn't have sent it at all if the wallet couldn't cover it. Let me know, and I'll follow along as well, that you get it and/or what the issue of receiving it might be. It probably shouldn't matter, but you could try deleting the blk*.dat files ([user]/AppData/Roaming/DNotes) to have your wallet re-update the whole block chain. Also, I don't think altexplorer is using the updated daemon. For example, on their main DNotes page it says current block is 151,197 but it's actually block 151,084

https://dnotespool.comStarting at midnight June 2 (24:00 EST - 04:00 UTC) will be a 750 NOTE BONUS to each block finder for the first 150 blocks. UPDATE - Due to the laws of diminishing returns... Block finders for blocks 151 - 250 found will receive 100 NOTE BONUS

Might want to hold off a few minutes (err, 1/2 hr maybe...). I see in that screenshot that it's built using OpenSSL version 1.0.1f which is within the range of the Heartbleed versions. Should probably re-compile after updating to 1.0.1g

We're NUMBER ONE, We're NUMBER ONE! Trading volume on Allcoin almost 3 bitcoin in 24 rolling hour period! Pair Price 24h Low 24h High 24h Volume(BTC) Trend NOTE (DNotes) 0.00000248 0.00000225 0.00000248 2.7120 +22.51% ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.chzbgr.com%2FmaxW500%2F2028929792%2FhD758BA49%2F&t=663&c=tf2h1-gSm9pOUQ) I just noticed that as well. Yesterday the volume was around 2.5 BTC / 24 hours on Allcoin and the same on Poloniex. Do you think the world is figuring out what we have known all along? p.s. Whatever that adorable little creature is on that finger, I want one! Ring-tailed lemur? I'd bet a DNote on it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Damn Cinco de Mayo, curse myself. I apologize for even being on a computer at this point (though the Mezcal was good)

My tone implied a lack of thought. But I have been waiting and watching and the time just seems right for me. I want to pick up a bigger stake in DNotes but on my terms through creating a buy wall. I'm not trying to anything other than that. Although it would be nice if my actions had a positive effect. My comment was just a cry for attention. I'll attention you! There's no cry in crypto, wait, yeah, there is...

Andddd, just as I start voicing a concern, we do a 6x increase in hashrate to >300 MH/s, the highest I've ever seen for DNotes.
Yes!
Looks like my being a worrywart was rather premature.
Maybe the Easter holiday? Apparently Denmark gets like 6 days for it. I (in U.S.) forgot until I looked up Denmark holidays and realized, "hey, I know that holiday!" ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Or, it may just be like going out for a smoke when you order food - they never bring your food until you're not there ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Edit: plus, crap, I mean nice, but my 1/4 to 1/3 is now way off base. Still good to see of course ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Hey! There's something we can maybe do?
Actually mining through the QT GUI is pretty much useless. That tab might as well not be there.
a) it assumes that it can run minerd. Which is NOT included. So if nothing else, you need to know to go get it, where to put it
b) it also assumes HTTP, even if you get minerd installed where it can find it. Meaning, it can't do stratum
c) perhaps on CryptoMoms, or anywhere, - if you install minerd - and if you solo mine - you need to a) make sure config says server = 1 b) make sure your router/firewall will allow you to connect to yourself on that port otherwise solo mining option is completely useless as well
I may be missing something. But in all QT "wallets", you have this nice(ish) GUI. With this nice tab that says Mining, which as far as I can tell is crap. What if we made it actually useful? Actually work would be nice, but if nothing else, maybe better instructions of how to make it work?

https://dnotespool.comI will take the poor, the err, unwanted masses...How's that go? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Struggling to be free. Yeah, our pool tends to vary between 1/4 to 1/3 of overall coin. Noticed the pool hashrate going down some, but didn't really pay attention that so did the overall DNotes hashrate. I has plans! Sorta ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) And pickup the dnotespool hashrate, which will hopefully pickup the overall hashrate (or, us dnotespool miners will just take over 100% ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) )

If you've ever used a computer, coins or no, BACK THAT SHIT UP.
Backing up important things, yes, should be repeated - over and over and over. Because no one hears.
Backup your wallet regularly. Back up your documents regularly, backup anything you care about regularly.
Some things you can get back, some you can restore, some will just plain be gone. Might be your coins, might be your cat (pictures of, weird if the whole cat was gone), might be your nice looking grilling out...
I'd donate coins to a backup program ( not a "program", but like a 10-step program for back-your-shit-up ), but it would be like throwing pennies in the street. Most people will say "eh, it's a penny" like they say "eh, I don't need to backup anything"
Until you're out a dollars worth of pennies you didn't pick up, and _____ money/time/work you also didn't back up.
PS - Yeah, PEACEOFWAR, that would be nice. But while "auto" stuff is nice, sooner or later you have to actually think on your own. Microsoft Word does auto-backups. Why do people then still need to "recover" their lost documents? Auto is nice, but it still takes caring and watching.

Birthday's over ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) However, I'm going to keep the pool fee at 0.5% for the time being. Will post on site ahead of time if, down the line at some point, it will go back to 1%.

A crypto currency is like any other. Sticks for example. Beads. Pelts. "currency" is just a barter system as well. It only works if there's a trade system for it. I might have a bunch of pretty shiny charcoal. It's just pretty shiny charcoal unless someone will give me something in return for it. Might be a trout to grill up., or some bones to play 3-Man with ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Doesn't much matter as long as it's usably tradeable. And CONTINUES to be at a rate that's tradeable. I've got a shitload of penny's - when are they going to be worth $1000? They're not. But that doesn't mean I toss pennies away. That's what annoys me about most/all "crypto" currencies. They're mostly worthless because they're worth is either undertimned or not known. I don't know. But, yeah, I'd like to see a crypto currency that is worth something more than trading. Like any currency, sure, it will fluctuate. But like any USEABLE currency, it should fluctuate around a line. That's called stability. If a coin is worth 1000 one day, 1/1000 the next, 500 the day after, it's useless to me. It's the same as holding on to $1 dollar bills in case they may eventually become worth more than one dollar.
