BFF miner is not seeing any of your hardware so you are not mining. The new block detected means the network has resolved a block and we are all working on the next. And by we I mean the entire bit coin network. Basically right now your are not mining with Bfg but monitoring the network. What ASIC are you trying to run? Hope that helps. |

instead of getting same reward for 10h you get half of it for 5h
My point is this - On say a 12 hour block, loyal miners will pay a lot for electricity. A pool hopper comes in within the last hour and gets the same reward for a fraction of the electricity. I do understand that we may find the block a little quicker but loyalty is not being rewarded here. It may also have been a "pool hopper" who found the block for us. I not a big fan of slushes system sometimes, but slush still has the highest payout. |

OK so here goes the "Newby Question of the Day": On my stats page there is a category for "Blocks Found", and of course with the minimal number of hashes I'm contributing, I would not expect that number to change from the "0" (zero) that is currently. Does something "special" happen if for some strange reason my equipment might stumble upon a "block"? Does my "reward" change? Do I suddlenly get rich? Or do I merely get the recognition of having "found 1"? And by "found", does that actually mean "resolved", because I can't actually count the number of times my mining software has reported that "a new block has been detected"? Just posing these teasers to hopefully, eventually, get me out of, and beyond the "Newby" status that I know I justly deserve. Thanks, and I look forward to all of your educated responses.
You get nothing extra for finding a block other than perhaps a laurel, and hearty handshake. Granted I don't have a ton of mining power but I've never found one. I have found 3 Blocks while ive been with slush(and this was when blocks value was 50 btc) and it gets shared among us all, because we all are working towards a common goal. Would be nice if i was solo mining, lol. Op, Every time slush has a payout, a member found a block and its shared among all of us. And when you see new block detected, it mean someone on the entire btc network found a block, and we are all working on the next. Hope this explanation helps, and happy mining. |

Thanks for the reply. I am running my cluster with a single Bat file and its almost identical to yours except no antminer details as i have BFL hardware. And im not a huge miner anymore. Haven't added hardware in months. 400GH is peanuts now. lol . I have not deleted my bfgminer.conf. Its stange that i had it happen a week ago, then nothing. Then twice again this weekend. Mine was low to. But in my part my miners were redirected again right at the end of the round. So slushes antipool hopping code got me good. Is anyone elses bfgminer being redirected to the russian IP still. I was fine all week and got hit twice this weekend. My equipment is in a remote data room, running all BFL hardware. Good thing for API. Things I wound helpful was checking that slush is the only pool in the pool list , deleting bfgminer.conf and starting whole hing from BAT with SLush pool as only pool showing. Seems to me that then work was done you will get bogus block from slush just to try and stop pool hooping. What should happen is that once block is solved and no more new block are found all your miners should start working on bogus block just to make sure you stay on slush when it's dinner time  There is always Murphy's low , my computer went out yesterday and I only started mining this morning (there was an blackout with all the power in the house) so go figure  When you want to use another pool do the same thing , single BAT that will show your pool of choice as only pool (not active) buy only pool showing , when you want to go back to slush just use different bat and report results. It's not that well done in BFGMiner I must say and you still have to monitor from time to time that no new pool found it's way in but it can only do that through bfgminer.conf file.My theory is that when your miner sees no more mork on slush it hops to pirate pool. Anyway best of luck My BAT EXample : bfgminer -o http://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u Eagle92212.1 -p xxxxxxx -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x0981 Worked so far. However high speed workers are probably better targets. |

Latest payout was awful compared to usual though Mine was very low too (about a third of the preceding round). Somebody ate all the pies, and I know it wasn't me. Mine was low to. Pool seems to have grown considerably recently. I wonder if there's an impression that some previous bad luck will equate to good luck. 97% over the previous 30 days doesn't seem totally awful but there have been some days.... Glad to see the growth.
Was thinking the same or many user just received new hardware to add to there clusters. |

Is anyone else seeing some strange data in the estimated reward and their current scores? I have a current score of around 6000 with over 8700 shares and my estimated reward is about 2% of what I normally see for the same number of shares. My hashrate appears normal.
Any ideas or explanations?
Just a glitch. Happens from time to time. If you think its your vardiff then run a proxy. |

Yes you should use pools. There is a better chance of a steady payout.
BTCGuild, Nasty Mining Pool, Eligius are good ones to use.

OP, if you want a steady payout use a PPS pool like EclipseMC. Take a look at how much bad luck the PPLNS pools are having the last 30 days in particular. EclipseMC no matter how they pay, are the worst and lowest payouts i have ever had. Avoid Eclipse MC, they are owned and operated by BFL, and use customers hardware to there gain. Worst pool i have ever used. BTCguild is good, Heard good things about Eligius. But none have paid me as much as Slush. But Ive been in the game when slush was the only game. Happy Mining everyone |

I basically look at what i am making right now, and reduce it by 20% every 2 weeks or so. I have found many of the mining calculators to be very conservative. I have earned about %30 more than the calculator on bitcoinwisdom said i should earn.

If you have been on BFL forums you have probably seen my user name in power supply threads helping others get there products working since BFL provides zero forum support. I was also active in the easyminer threads telling folks to use bfgminer and a .bat file, and present in the eclipse MC threads. I had always offered support until BFL JOSH made his outrageous claim that there power supplies are fine and its user error. If anyone has BFL hardware, stop using your power supply now and get and ATX. There supplies are a fire hazard and not safe...Period. Do not use Easyminer software, it is buggy garbage and a simple .bat file and BFGminer will save you so many headaches, give you more info on your hardware etc. Avoid Eclipse MC as there are owned and run by BFL, and have the worst payouts out of everyone. I'm a slush guy but i am not going to plug my pool, just want to be up front. Just please avoid EMC as they are not transparent, have the lowest payout and are in fact owned and operated by BFL or a close affiliate. I post this here because Butterfly Labs Staff have now banned me for speaking the truth and deleted all my posts; and I will help anyone with BFL hardware that has issues. And to think i used to be a BFL fanboy. LMAO Last edit. Wasn't there reports that BFL was or is using and unlicenced version of Altium for there layouts? Back when they released the specs for the 60GH singles? Ill do some more digging but i am wondering if anyone has more information on this. BFL has woken the Lion with very deep pockets. |

Pool users should check their connections to Slush. I noticed with two miners that I hadn't submitted a share in the last ten minutes. My miners were showing that they were still connected to pool 0, but 46.28.205.80 instead of the normal address. There is talk on Eligius about a malicious player doing a man in the middle attack, it's worth reading up on.
I had this problem about 3 times in last few days. 15 minutes ago my both antminers were submitting work and nothing looked different, but for about one hour they were sending results somewhere else, because slush pool was reporting 0 shares. After reconnection everything is ok again... I really hate how many thieves are attracted around bitcoin. It might be that the password is left to default, so it's the same password to all ants if it wasn't changed. I guess the 'thief' needs to find the IP and then log into that ant's account using the well known default password. Or maybe the other 2 pools weren't changed, so if Slush is down, it switches to the other default pool which was preset by Bitmain. Just a thought. No it's not my case. I don't have default passwords and antminer was showing that he is submitting work to Slush pool. And my only failover pool in ant configuration is my bitcoin wallet a it wasn't used. Following this as i was affected. It does not appear to be hardware specific. Im Running BFL hardware. |

Not sure if it is just me but my numbers on the pool are as consistent and rock steady as can be (plus or minus 5%) for every round. And they have been that way consistently. Not sure why others are experiencing slow downs or low rewards.
Any one care to speculate why I am so stable and others see these wild fluctuations in their numbers?
I usually always have stable numbers, been here for 3 years. There was a glitch yesterday but everything is sorted as it always is. |

Pool numbers are looking strange. My 600G was estimated around .01...... And it's presently around .0005. What happened?
My shares are stuck at a very low number.... maybe thats it? Anyone working on this? Don't want to pull my miners, but these numbers are waayyyyyy off. Mine was way off as well and it is sorted out now. |

AM I reading the stats correctly that we've found 15 blocks in the last two days?!!
I expect the Slush haters will show up shortly claiming that it's a conspiracy, that Slush is holding onto blocks and waiting for small populations in order to get more money for himself. Or something. Thats awesome. |

And FYI min payout is .1 .
I joined in October 2013 aware of how slow my miners were and expected to get my first payout in March(ish) territory of .05 (min payout that I read when I joined). I have been checking in to see how things have been going with the pool every 2 weeks or so and glancing at this forum (this time noticing your post). I am on ~.041 and was hoping to get a payout in around june/july which no longer looks viable. Has the min payout changed?? If so, I don't see any point to continue mining and would there be any way to recieve the bitcoins that I have mined so far? If I cannot get my bitcoins what will happen to them? trapped forever within the pool? Best, Seamus. Min payout is 0.01 so you are good to collect now... My bad, you are correct. forgot a zero. |

No one will take that as criticism because you clearly have no clue. This is a mining pool, not a how to on bitcoin mining. Its a service, no one asked you to join our pool. Its on you to do your do diligence, because if you did just a simple Google search you would realize that the days of mining with GPU, or CPU is long long gone (Like your over a year to 2 years behind). So as a miner that's been in the game since late 2010, don't take offense, but leaving bitcoin mining to the big boys ok. If your not in the Gigahash range, mine litecoin. Oh and i really feel you cant defraud the stupid. And FYI min payout is .1 . oh and to humble you even more. Previous poster mis quoted. Our pool in 1.3 PetaHash/sec ...With a total of 28 shares for an unconfirmed total of 0.00000065 BTC. I'm averaging between 12.915 to 10.500 Mhash/s.
Does this seem correct? Less than 1 penny for all the resources I've loaned?
Don't take this as a criticism, but "all the resources [you've] loaned", even at the high estimate of 12.9Mh/s, comes out to less than 1/10,000 of a percent of the total shares input to the current pool hashrate, which is currently clocking over 1.3 Terrahashes/sec. And the last 24 hours has been a GOOD pool day, that's about twice the payout (since we've found twice as many blocks) that you would normally expect to see in a statistically average day. As OrganOfCorti said, if you're mining on GPU or CPU, the current difficulty and mining rate of the global BTC pool is so much larger than your capacity to mine on that hardware that it's not efficient. Then you wont take this as a criticism when I say, nowhere on your website does it say, "reg CPU users will need to run their computer for a total of FIVE YEARS to generate 1 bitcoin". I'm confident you DEPEND on the thousands and thousands of us "workers" who are under educated and dumb enough to run our computers for 24 hours to yield the lack of result while you keep everything we generate and have no choice to abandon because you won't payout less than 1 bitcoin. Now I understand why information is pretty scarce. It's clearly a deliberate intent to defraud. |

Hi, im new to forum and wanted some help, I started mining bitcoins about 2 weeks ago with antminer s1 overclocked to 200ghs, first I was getting around 0.0044... bitcoins per round when difficulty was at around 4,,, but now im getting like 0.0033 per each round. can anyone please tell me does difficulty effect how much you get per each round because I thought higher difficulty meant longer rounds... my speed is around 200ghs like before but lower btc per round. can anyone explain why the change has occurred. thanks in advance Pool Has grown could be the answer. |

I wonder if Slush had bitcoins tied up in Mt.Gox possibly?....im just looking for excuses now lol...but it is possible...other pools arent having as bad of "luck" as Slush...I've been with slush for awhile now and he has always fixed stuff quick, but this is the first time i hopped ship. Maybe slush got hit by that flaw of the missing coins as well? along with gox and other sites...weird stuff.
