Your games are cost us dev. I am losing everything financially and I thought Nyan would be the next big thing to invest that could save my family. I have invested the last of my money, four grand worth on my high interest credit card. I thought it would be worth it. Since then the price has dropped devaluing everything I invested in all the way to worthlessness. You have the power of seven million followers. You said so yourself. So why haven't you used them? Why after three months of work your final big news you have been waiting to tell everyone, Your hard work mostly was our work of simply voting on Cryptsy so your Coin would finally be worth something? Voting is something a normal person could take a few minutes out of their day to do? Not three months. It will be because of you that this coin is ruined Dev. Take my advice, hire a team to manage the coin for you. It's going nowhere under your watch. I would say so far only atheistftwins have proven that he could actually make the coin something with active leadership. Hire someone full time. That Someone will have to save this coin.

The Dev: We originally planned for our addition onto Crptsy this weekend and it was the expected development. We had even made a large contribution to Cryptsy and was told that as long as NYAN remained in the top three of the votes it would be added. However, it appears Cryptsy has not kept their end of the agreement. We will immediately contact them and get some answers and let the community know when we do.
I think this is my breaking point for NyanCoin...

I just got great news! Apparently I found a backed up version of my NyanCoin wallet from when I first started with three addresses on it. Out of those one was empty and the other two ended up being my NyanCoin.Me faucet addresses! Now I just have to reprogram the faucet payment app and I can send money out asap.
The bad news is I lost two hundred thousand Nyan from my newer NyanCoin addresses..

You worked in my apartment?(Jokes) I always keep my old.computers as I may need the parts. LCD screens seem very usable too me as of recent..
Best I can do is clone different drives and test those out. If any work then I just have to find and install the ancient rare drivers.

The funny thing is I actually do have a second laptop of the same kind. I bought them at an auction . Two 2Ghz 4Gb ram laptops windows 7 for $50 each. They lasted me 3 years. During the summer my friend dropped one and broke the screen plus the hard drive.
I also got a great idea. The awesome laptop I mentioned that also broke about two weeks ago, I figured I could us that hard drive, except I wouldn't boot up the Terabyte drive. Of course Windows 8 wouldn't work on a Celeron 2 processor.
I'm digging around to see what I can find.

The hard drive disk isn't spinning at all. I am going try tonight anyways. I also lost the scripts required for faucet payouts but I can reprogram a basic version in a little over an hour. As soon as I am done that I have to go to the local Bitcoin shop, purchase some NyanCoin with it and hand it out to the people at the faucet that are kindly waiting. I hope to accomplish that in the next six hours. It really is aweful.
So, is the hard drive picking up and it seeing the size in the bios of the machine it is in? If those two are correct there is a chance that is still functional. What have you tried in terms of recovery of files up to this point? I deal with failing drives a fair bit so i know a little bit lol. If you want some insight send me a PM I start up the computer and I get a no hard drive detected error, the disk isn't spinning or anything. I have a usb to Sata adapter which I hope might make it work.. I have terrible luck with computers this week, my expensive half a year old i7 died last week because the circuit board got fried, Now my hard drive fails in this one. I am figuring it is better to buy a computer off kijiji.ca for the same price as it is to buy windows 7... Off for the hunt. My work depends I have a laptop. |

This is a good point, and any hard fork always has risks. What do you think we can do to improve the coin other than an algo change? I agree with your post on reddit, I think we need a site that can allow people to buy NYAN with USD. Since you made nyancoin.me, do you think you can add that feature to your site?
It is difficult to say as so many things have to happen and they will take time to happen. I have been seriously thinking about adding basically an online NyanCoin bank to my site but I personally don't have the money to back it up after bills, loans, debt ect plus there is a lot of liability too when dealing with that much money on a grand scale. If one million of the NyanCoin followers decide to buy nyancoin at once, I would have to have a float large enough of that much NyanCoin just in case or at least most of it, So far I cannot afford it. Also I have now had several people point out that they really dislike my site. I would like people to tell me whether or not it is worth a week to completely redesign it or parts of it. There is Nyancoin.Me and NyanCoin.me/faucet . Thank you for your consideration. What do they dislike about your site? Also, you can control the float issue by only selling controlled lots of NYAN at once. I'm just saying I have no money at all just in case. If people buy NyanCoins with their phone bill, credit card or what they chose too and place their faith in me, they will expect to receive the coins right away. If my server gets compromised or ddos, which does happen on other exchanges (Is cryptorush.io still dealing with theirs?), I would want to have enough money to pay back everyone as soon as possible until the site is back up and running or it could turn ugly. I do not want to pull a Mt.Gox on anyone. As for my www.Nyancoin.Me/faucet faucet, the site is very bland, mostly text and blends in with the background too much. It seems very novice to. www.Nyancoin.Me was created from a template to save time though I did edit it quite a bit. It only works as a stand alone page and would not tie in well with the rest of my site. I always think I have to do better. When I have time I will redo them. |

I do wonder how much a new algorithm will scare people.
Sha and Scrypt are the two main kinds that most mining applications / pools support.
People can also see a coin's worth on CoinWarz if it is Sha or Scrypt.
Sure there may be asics coming out but it is still twice as profitable mining Sha coins for the same cost in hardware plus there are so many alt coins out there to mine now.
If we switch to any other algorithms it couldn't be cpu minable as cpu mining are very slow on the average computer but bots and asics could do it quickly, It would have to be gpu mining, which in a sense are still asics and have gpu server farms everywhere.
The only way to stop these farms with their incredibly efficient and expensive gpu devices is to make it so difficult for them to mine that they would lose money over power costs. This would also make the average person not be able to mine without technically losing money with their slower and more power intensive hardware.
Is there any algorithm that anyone knows of that would actually make a hard fork at this stage worthwhile?
If we are starting the campaign tomorrow, then it can also be off putting to many people with the terms of a hard fork.

I wouldn't say "scam" (I haven't been cheated, AFAIK), but if you look in the pool's support forum ( http://pool.mn, I think) you will see that the 100% uptime claim is a lie. Normally he/she has been spamming as "gerbill2". Now it's "Areenver". I know that a different pool's account was temp banned for spamming, so maybe "Areenver" was created to get around a ban on "gerbill2." While I'm at it, I cut a lot of the discussion out of this one, but an experienced pool operator had to help gerbil out with a different coin here. Here is part of what they said. And next time you advertise your pool, please leave the "Skilled admin" line out. The "I just don't understand" line proves that the claim is false  Were we not just talking about this guy on the last page? |
