1  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Crypto journalist seeking to interview traders about USDT premiums in India on: June 16, 2024, 09:09:13 PM
Hi all,

I'm a journalist with crypto.news researching the nature of the USDT premium market in India. I'd love to speak to anyone trading in India who has experience with paying extra for USDT and what it means for your trading habits and techniques. I will never ask you to click any links or download anything, and you can find me by searching "Conor Maloney crypto" online to verify who I am. I can assure any interviewees of total anonymity if they prefer, or can credit anyone who wants to be mentioned by a name or pseudonym.

Hope everyone is having a good day, and please feel free to contact me here or on X/Twitter @iwritecrypto

Thanks!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Shitcoinpocalypse: Let's give a bunch of anonymous cartoon cat developers a $33 on: April 13, 2023, 06:21:37 PM
Talking, of course, about the Big Eyes coin presale, which is now the biggest presale for a meme coin in crypto history. I think it's going to be a disaster tbh. I read a breakdown of the project recently that highlighted how:

  • The auditor has flagged it for being centralized (i.e., literally one of the anonymous cat people could rug pull at any time, that's in the audit they're so proud of).
  • The project has ties to other massive exit scams (come on, people!)
  • The whitepaper says they're going to "save the oceans" but doesn't say which charity lol

There's a bunch of other stupid shit in there that I won't get into, I'm just venting about how ridiculous this situation is. I checked out the Telegram group and it's full of fanatics, no surprise there, but I really do think a lot of them are sincere rather than being paid shills or bots.

People are going to get screwed. What do I do, laugh? Feel bad for them? This shit keeps happening over and over again, and it's increasingly obvious every time. This one is going to be a headline news event, but if you try bringing it up, the project supporters either get upset at you or at themselves. I think people are just tossing major amounts of money into this shit without even researching it at all, I DMed a nice-seeming dude in the Telegram channel and he was dumbfounded that it even might be a scam, and scared.

I don't know, man. I'm here for the tech and for the gains, but we have a looong way to go before shit like this stops happening and undermining the whole space altogether.
3  Economy / Digital goods / Premium dot com domain names (hypeblocks.com, topbitcointips.com, more) on: December 20, 2022, 10:16:56 AM
Crypto domains for sale:

hypeblocks.com
topbitcointips.com
coinglade.com
coinprarie.com
altcoinreader.com
coingild.com
Nomachain.com

Establish a website, add content (recent advancements in AI can help with this a lot), and monetize through ads, affiliate links for hardware wallets, exchanges, courses, as well as PR announcements for new projects. Look into the current state of sales for crypto websites to see how often sites like these are being flipped for a 30x - 40x multiple of their monthly revenue (30x - 40x is a really a vanity metric, the multiple really comes down to your negotiation with the buyer, but crypto sites are increasingly popular and the demand is there).

Let me know if there's any interest in these domains (have other domains in other areas as well). Thanks.
