Thanks for the replies,
Its the nodes nodes. That have the high data requirments.
Its a node i was interested in building with a pair of miners to go along with it.
Its looking like a bad investment to me.
Was simply interested in creating a small revenue generator together to grow over time.
Looks like the power hungry needs of the s9s and the data needs of the node would generate a negitive income for the next year.
I dont know why the part of the system that makes it all work gets nothing. Nodes.
Miners get every thing but only if your willing to gain little so the big miners gain most.
If the requirments to mine were to have a node then things would balance over time.
For every mine a node and a single node for every mine.
As it is im out.
Not worth investing in for a small node or mine. As well as the collapsing of the bigger miners cost of power requirment. Better luck paning gold on the beaches of Florida

I think i found an answer to my question.
Just mining uses little data, 2 to 10 mb
Becoming part of the peer to peer network is where the upload data requirements can exceed 200 gigs data per month.
Ive also though these requirements for upload bandwidth could be a reason for the loss of decentralization.
The peer to peer nodes are the backbones of what makes bitcoin work.
If every mining operation was required to maintain a single peer at its location and every location a single peer.
The entire backbone would become more and more decentralized.
As i understand. Most miners are not part of the actual peer to peer only accessing the peer to peer network to authenticate or transfer. Might be wrong there as ive only been reading for a few hours.
But isnt the system better suited to having more peers with smaller upload data requirments over a broader area.
My community has crap service most if not all isp services provid a 1-10 system to their cuztomers.
Or 1mb uploads for 10 mb down. The systems are designed to allow streaming but uploading is slow.
A majority of the services are completely unreliable
And most never do better than 5mb down on a good day.
The luck of my homes location allows me to get much better service and data rates that are twice as fast as the 3 towns i live close to.
Id love to build a system for connecting to the peer to peer and a bit of mining but not really at a cost that would exceed the value of the contribution or its ability to actually function and generate a small revenue.
Im still learning, and will be making a 10kw system to run a couple of s9 units and a new linux os build.
And would like to join the peer to peer network but the data requirements just ended that.
If the peer to peer isnt adjusted to expand its size and grow more and more decentralized i believe it will eventually get consumed by the monster that eats all.

I did a few searches googled.
Found a post or. 2 on how much data usage to expect through the internet connection.
2mb and max 10 mb.
Then i get to the bitcoin sit and see. Minimum requirments 500Mb per day (15GB per month) download
And upload at 5GB per day (150GB per month)
 So what is it?
Such a small amount that you wont even notice or uploading so much data the your service provider shuts you down?
Im interested in seting up a pair of s9 units
And a computer all on solar and just leave them running .
Im off grid completely use a single phone hot spot as a data line to a tower with very few users.
Last month i downloaded 188 gigs data through the hotspot.
But not sure about building a dedicated system to run a pair of s9 units
If the data requirments cant be met for an independent system.
Im not really interested in plugging into a pool unless its a set of local people here near me.

Could any one answer whats really going to be needed to setup. A small farm or small local pool and how much data will be used?
