1  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [ANN] Bither - simple&secure Bitcoin wallet.(v1.8.3 supports SegWit) on: February 04, 2019, 01:20:23 PM
Thank you for the advice, I'll see if I can get the update up and functioning and will report back on whether or not that solves the problem.

Follow-up: after taking the advice and trying to update to the latest version of Bither for my windows desktop I cannot for the life of me find any links to any windows desktop downloads for the newest version.  Every download I find is I only for android devices.  Even the download from Bither.net isn't new enough to surpass the "network error" message when attempting to sync to the block chain.  Anyone that knows the location of the updated version I'm looking for it'd be great to hear from you.  Also, after reading through a number of reviews of Bither in general I've notice a trend of nearly 25% of users losing small to incredibly large amounts of Bitcoin with almost zero help from the developers and some users stating "the developers accused me of trying to scam them after losing 35,000k worth of BTC."  If I cannot find this update and sync the wallet than I'd also offer this up as a warning regarding the Bithher Wallet itself; 25% negative reviews with loses declared in nearly every review is nothing to ignore, also, I've yet to hear a single word back from Bither Support regarding this issue.  So, heads up.

This is a copy of what I posted in a new thread, it was suggested that I try posting the problem here in hopes of some solutions, the post is as follows:

<quote>New to this community and have been scouring the search engine for hours trying to find a thread that may have the answer I need but nothing has come up yet, apologies if someone can refer me to an already existing thread that answers my question.

Started using Bither in late 2017 and didn't use my wallet for about a year until recently.  Stupidly, and without thinking ahead of time I used the same wallet address to complete a few transactions only to have nothing show in my wallet despite all addresses, confirmations, etc, being correct and accurate.  Find that I need to sync my wallet to catch up to the newest block chain.  Tried every speed and fee option to get the "reload transaction data" to work but all I get is a "network error" message every single time.  Figured that maybe my internet connection was too slow and am now at my relatives house using their very expensive high speed internet service and am getting the same message.

Question: Has anyone, perhaps one of the Bither developers, ran into this problem and found a solution?  Perhaps a patch or upgrade version I can then somehow get my original coin rerouted to in some way?  It isn't a massive loss but still would put me back a few hundred dollars worth of Bitcoin, which I actually need soon, if I cannot recover these transactions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this has proven to be a very frustrating ordeal and has sent me travelling for improved internet connection speed to no avail.  Thank you and your time and energy are greatly appreciated.</quote>

LOYCEV: currently I'm searching all over my computer for that particular save file, I cannot remember for the life of me where I may have saved it or what I saved it as.  Just emailed support@bither.net and am considering posting in the Bither ANN thread.  I'll let you know if/when the issue is resolved and how, whether I find the 12 word passphrase or whether Bither gets back to me, I'm sure there be some conclusion to this dilemma for the records.  Thanks again for the quick replies and pertinent information, very kind of you.
