I am on iMAC OSX 10.9 added the following line command.

 ./minerd --url=stratum+tcp://mine.pool-x.eu:9000/ --userpass=USERNAME:PASSWORD

At start up

 ./minerd --url=stratum+tcp://mine.pool-x.eu:9000/ --userpass=USERNAME:PASSWORD

I would like to know what folks think about mining via pools like CEX.IO for BTC or Pool-X.eu for LTC. I believe its profitable trading in a pool.  Please let me know your thoughts.  Thanks

Hello I followed all the steps at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=176611.0 it went very well smoothly. Currently I have the LTC wallet still synchronizing but when ./minerd --url http://mine.pool-x.eu:9000 --userpass username.1:x I receive the following HTTP: request failed Recv Failure: Connection reset by peer.
