1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] - The WhiteCoin Foundation - Community Planning & Discussion on: May 28, 2014, 05:35:49 AM
@mogonzo (and the rest of team): are there any news on whitecoin. You promise us some press news depending on the Whitecoin. The only thing that's active right new is voting for the new logo and nothing else is going on right now. Could we get some statement from you or from anybody from the new dev team....this topic is almost dead the same as our coin (think it hit the new bottom - value is below 170s)...
It looks like this topic is not active anymore, cause any new "big" news are coming out only in the old topic of WC. So i'll just paste the last mogonzo big news about WC's:

from mogonzo:
Special Announcement from The WhiteCoin Foundation

We are pleased to announce our ops team roster to the community. We’ve been working hard on filling the first permanent positions of the WhiteCoin Foundation Operations team for the last two weeks. These are names many of you willl be familiar with already, as each and every one has singled themselves out as important individual forces in our community. Without further ado I’d like to introduce you to the senior members of the Operations Team:

Director of Operations: Oizopower

Description: The Director of Operations is responsible for the day to day workings of the foundation. They are the oil in the gears of our great talent machine. The Director of Operations is responsible for filling talent gaps, motivating the troops, and will serve as one of the key decision makers on the merit based rewards side. When a project requires additional support, the DoO is who you approach first. The DoO reports directly to The President.

When I drafted this description, it became immediately clear to me who I needed to tap. Oizopower has literally been that grease in our gears since the very beginning. His unyieldingly positive attitude, combined with a top notch work ethic makes him the perfect person for this job. Part developer, part community manager, part marketer and all parts leader, I have no doubt Oizopower will help drive us in a very innovative direction.

Chief Technology Officer: Mindfox

Description: The Chief Technology officer is responsible for coordination of overall development of WhiteCoin and all of its potential services. From Wallets to Bots, if it’s an official WhiteCoin Foundation Product, it doesn’t go out without our CTO’s personal approval. The Chief Technology Officer serves and reports directly to the Operations Team as a whole.

As I’ve said before, Mindfox has been our most devoted and key developer since WhiteCoin became community driven. He has toiled for countless hours developing new code for us, and testing the code of other developers. The reality is that Mindfox has been serving in this unofficial position since day 1, and it’s time for him to get his recognition. I couldn’t be more pleased to have such a talented and devoted developer at the helm of the Whitecoin Foundation Dev Team.

Director of Communications: birddog

Description: The Director of Communications serves as the chair of the Marketing Committee, and is responsible for the coordination and day to day operation of our public relations projects. The Direct of Communications would report directly to Operations Team as a whole.

Birddog has been setting the tone of our marketing for weeks now, his vision and singular creativity has been something we’ve all come to rely on. His dedication, skill, and humility make him the perfect DoC for the WhiteCoin Foundation. We need someone with the creativity to come up with new directions, as well as the humility to recognize when someone else has a great idea. It’s been clear to me for some time that birddog was our man here, and I couldn’t be happier to introduce him as director.

But that’s not all!

We have many more positions yet to be “officially” filled on the operations side. If you’d like to join our inclusive team, we’ll be happy to welcome you with open arms.

PR Team Opportunities: Join #wc-pr on freenode: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#wc-pr

Twitter Master: We’re looking for someone to take the helm of @whitecoiner, to help us mine our existing contents for tweet and to generate new content as needed.

2nd in Command: Birddog is hot on the lookout for a go to point person for PR, someone he can help to delegate tasks and who can assist in the coordination of our many existing PR projects.

Dev Team Opportunities: Join #wc-dev on freenode: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#wc-dev

Bot master: We’re looking for someone to help us with the creation of new IRC bots, as well as twitter and reddit bots.

And many more coming soon. If you’d like in on the foundation with a future, join us on IRC to chat live with our team.

Stay tuned for much more from the WhiteCoin foundation team, in the coming days we’ll be making announcements regarding: more filled positions in the ops team, promotional bounties, and the next wallet update!

Best Regards,

Chris Salsman
Acting President
The WhiteCoin Foundation

ANNOUCEMENT FROM THE WHITECOIN TEAM

The WhiteCoin Team is Pleased to Announce the launch of our fundraising drive. Now that PoS has begun, we can show crypto what the WhiteCoin Community can really do.

We have received hundreds of requests for official donation addresses, and we're pleased to tell you that the transition team has agreed on a transparent and accountable system for maintaining the fund's finances.

Until our organization can be legally founded, Mogonzo has offered to operate these funds under the guidance of the transition team, and with community input. None of the funds in these addresses will be paid out without the agreement of the transition team, mogonzo, and the community.

We also couldn't be happier to tell you that Chunkypools.com/wc has pledged to further support the WhiteCoin foundation by donating 10-25% percent of its profits according to the Chunky Challenge. We don't want to steal all Chunky's thunder though, they'll post more details shortly.

The Foundation will be accepting donations in Whitecoin, Bitcoin, LiteCoin, and DogeCoin to start this process off. Please donate only to these official donations addresses, there is only one per currency.

WC: WdPskLzGkjXkSns3BgkRF5fW5SveTBS7tR

BTC: 1JN9kVvm1zxgYh3Ki1JNsPFPhcE5FfoyeR

DOGE: D9n7o15LGaJy54gsQtqfgP8MwRCxC7FeCn

LTC: LU7P6BgqPDo1eHzqm2GmPw34HMJVoEe5DV

Please donate to help pay the developers who saved this currency. But most importantly, encourage others to do the same. Tell us how much you donated. Spread the good word on bitcointalk, IRC, twitter, and anywhere else you can think of...

Because this is just the beginning

Best Regards

The WhiteCoin Foundation

Until we have a more complete special thanks post, we must offer our sincere gratitude to: CryptoWest & Mindfox for their dedication to this project and making the wallet happen.

That are some great news.
Looks like I'm the first (and hope not the only) that will donate you some coins. Already shipped 0.01BTC to your address from poloniex. Will try to send you  another 1500WC, when the poloniex market enables WC trading.
Let's see some things start to rolling Smiley and get the WC coin back to the old tracks....

I will try with the second option that we have, try to save WC.

So I already pointed my hashRate to port 3377, helping to protect WC.

Mogonzo stated:
If the devs do not re-appear - which looks like so ChunkyPools and others have offered to facilitate the hard forking of whitecoin and the release of an updated fix - hope this will happened as ASAP. It would not take long. But it does require your support and consent - we all should try to support mogonzo, WC and the whole community for a few next days.

It's better to get something out, then nothing.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | Join Community on: April 21, 2014, 03:39:57 PM
Gave my vote to COMM on EcoinFund voting pool.

I also bought some COMM coins even when the price was much higher then right now. Hope this falling trend will end soon. And we'll see some more positive trades in near future
10  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGWatcher 1.3.6, the GUI/monitor for CGMiner and BFGMiner to prevent downtime on: March 24, 2014, 06:39:19 PM
Hey, I've installed the new version of cgWatcher and must say that I love some new features that you implemented/added. But, I have one problem with new version, each graphic card is producing in avg. 100KH/s less then with previous version 1.3.5. With three cards is this 300Kh/s less. I'm running the same config file on the same mining pool, and I'm running my cgwatcher in Win8. Do you now what could be the reason for this problems?

Hey,

First what I want to say is, that I really appriciate the effort of Terk, these pool is really awesome and I staying on it for 11+ mining days now.
But I have a litlle bit off-topic question. I notice strange behavior on one of my cards.

I will try to explain it to you in a few words. So I have 3 same MSI 280X Gaming cards. All are running with same settings - I 13, thread-concurency 14336, enginge clock 1050, memory clock 1500, temp is always at 75C. All three produce around 710kH/s what's ok. But the problem here is that the second and only second card is always crushing, after around 24h the SGMiner reports that the card is dead or sick (I did undervolt them), but why is only one card crashing?
Next thing which is strange, is this: i set some monitor features in CGWatcher, in which I restart the PC if one of the cards is dead/sick or if the total hashrate drops below certain value. But what should i do, if my total hash rate increases insanely? Like you can see in the below pictures? Second card is obvious dead, but the SGMiner reports that's it mining with 300+MH/s (and that's the reason that CGWatcher can't reset the PC). Can you give me some advice, what should I do about the card or which settings should I change in CGwatcer, to restart the PC if that happens?

I understand you might be frustrated but believe me I'm even more so. I apologize for all problems and I assure you that I'm really working hard on solving this issue.

And I have some good news!

I finished bugfixing another 3rd party stratum server to replace the previous one. I also rewrote it to be multi-threaded instead of single threaded (which is a big issue). I am testing it on some percent of the pool hashpower and results are very promising - number of rejected shares is significantly lower. I'll let it run serving part of the pool for an full hour and monitor logs and stats to see if no other problems arise and if nothing unexpected happens, I'll be switching the whole pool to it.

Sounds great, hope it'll work Wink

don't know if this was already discussed before, but Terk, could you some additional stats and charts in Profitability Stats section. I'm really missing information about what/which coin are we mining. Could you add some charts like on waffle pool (http://wafflepool.com/stats) - Last 24hrs of Coin Mining chart and Last Hour of Coin Mining chart.

it has already been stated that the coins we are mining will not be published ever.

That's a pitty, would be nice feature. But could be possible to add Last 24h or even Last 30 Days Rejection Rate?

And the next thing I want to ask is this, (we now that CM has some problems with R rate), but what else affect the R rate. On which setting should I focus in cgminer config to try to improve it on my side? I made some changes on my rig in last couple of hours, I'd increased Core clock from 1050 to 1080Mhz and Memory clock from 1500 to 1760Mhz and gained 50Kh/s on each card, but I had an average of 20% rejection rate. Then I made some additional changes where I changed expiry from 120s to 1s, and scan_time form 30s to 1s and core clock back to 1060Mhz, and the result is quite well for now. The Rejection average rate is dropping to 15% and below. Also in last 30minutes the rejection was around only 5%, which is quite good.
Don't know if this has something to do with my new settings or if it was Terk's improvements on servers side.  (I'm from EU and running msi 280x gaming cards)

Could somebody explain me the reason for bouncing of hash rate from 1.5MH/s to 2MH/s, the diff is +-500kH/s from time to time. Is this because of the pool problems, or am I pushing the cards too much? Have three MSI 280x cards, running C:1050 M:1500 and thread concurrency:14336...it's really annoying to see that the cards aren't doing its max profit.
