Something to think about you guys.  Whoever has these ridiculous sell orders you're not going to win the lottery this way and it doesn't do the coin any favors.  Long term investors know better, but when day traders see the bearish ratio they will immediately overlook and run from the coin.  Any trading is good trading as it creates volume, media attention, and brings holders out of the woodwork to play.  That's not to say the coin will never reach that price, but when it does it will happen gradually and you'll have plenty of time to your orders in as there will be strong buy pressure to accomodate.

I believe those orders are here since monthes..

Check out the #DigiByte Social Media Teaser that will be used at the end of our upcoming video series! What do you think?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPYJ8ZskP3Y&feature=youtu.be

that is nice, and it surely brings the graphic design the video should follow as well.

the music is pretty cool too..

May I ask who did this?

you can also see my other video:how can I mine digibytes

OK i will try to be constructive about the video, as people previously explained, it looks very unprofessional at the moment and need to remain confidential until it reaches an acceptable level:

Here are some general tips:

-4K and 60fps are totally useless for such a vid, 720p 24 is largely enough ( and will save you render time for useful stuff)

-you have to make a choice about graphic design, to bring unity: use everything graphic vectorial , or everything bitmap like, but don’t mix the styles.

-your animations are pretty linear, you need to tweak the curves to bring dynamics (acceleration etc..  not just linear sliding), you should also put motion blur on it

-All the animations that are based on a zoom out from top left corner have to be banned, and replaced by something more dynamic.

-globally we see the DGB logo turning on itself too much, it looks like you just try to fit the duration but have no content, people watch the video to get information and content, not watch a rolling logo…

-all the stuff that is hand designed ( bank etc..) has to be removed

-many elements lack of definition ( you can’t zoom in a world map more than 1:1 original resolution of the element)

-white background is not  good, give it a bit of color, or at least darken a bit (slight grey etc..)

Now more specifically:

0:02, the image show DGB as 1 in the middle of 1000s , it gives a bad signal, as it brings no visual difference with other alts..  you’d better show it with just bit con litecoin dogecoin, and avoid showing there are so much alts..

0:05  put more screens of different types ( mac pc, iphones , tablets ) and place just a few exchanges between some of them, plus avoid having movements that loop ( now it looks like people send the money back and forth).
organise the movements so the money spreads on more and more machines and becomes used by all actors..

0:23 you really need to remove this bank design, choose wether you rely on bitmap or stylized vectorial, and stick to it, then replace that bad looking moment.

0:28: there is a small apparition of a (stylized) earth, need to be longer ( and to fit with the design you’ve chosen, the style of this particular earth is cool but you’ll get into trouble getting all the stuff with that look). the background it not white (I imagine you’ve taken this fro another video, you’ll get into trouble if you do this)

0:30 lack of definition and different design/style, animation is to conventional and too slow

0:53: exact example of what not to do : you have photorealistic, vectorial, and photo with not enough resolution mixed., You have to choose and bring unity. something has to happen, you can’t just let earth and fan roll for seconds just to make some content.

1:03 same animation problem, too slow, too conventional

1:28 If you really want to use the wallet to show those things, start with a view of the whole interface, then zoom in the parts you want’ to show

1:42 error is a bad signal, just seeing you need a password is enough

2:03 you can’t use the brands , all the stuff is copyrighted, use stylized stuff ( hamburger, restaurant, computer, coffee etc…) anything that can be linked to using money/buying things

2:35  once again, choose the design, now you use some real world photo, the picture needs to be clean, in terms of lighting and content ( there are stuffs on the desk, at least clean it), the QR code could at least be correctly integrated in the pic (geometry is bad, lighting don’t fit, it is 5 minutes in photoshop)
->tip:  print a qr code , stick it and take a photo..

2:38 :huge lack of definition/resolution
2:40 animaaaaaation is sooo slow.

2:53 remove that horrible transition with stars ( you’ve got that in Imovie right ?)

I know it is a lot of work but you are just at the rough layout step.

Design has to be unified.
Animation has to get dynamics
A lot of content needs to be added.

I think before going further, you should really have a discussion with the team, and be ok with a precise description of what needs to appear on screen( this is a marketing decision, not technical), or you will loose 4 other weeks getting to nowhere.

I do work in the domain of image ( visual effects precisely), and when i saw the amount of work it would require to realize that video to get a really good look and design, I wouldn’t have started.
It is weeks or work for someone who is used to make it ( graphic designer) or x1000s $ in a company.

If you want to talk about it, use PM, I don't check forum everyday ..

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ DigiShield ✔ USD/DGB Coming Soon @Prelude.io ✔ on: March 27, 2014, 10:46:15 AM
We are officially dropping the word "currency" from any of our publications or promotion.

DigiByte is a decentralized crypto payment network based upon Litecoin & Bitcoin that works similar to PayPal & Western Union. DigiByte is fast, secure & world-wide!

Hi, of course it is just a matter of vocabulary, but if you dig a bit, the system is different from Paypal or any fund transfer system.
Let me explain my thoughts:

When you use paypal, what you do is just transfer real money (us$) to abank account and pay with it.
Technically, it is just a bank, and you pay with dollars ( or euros or whatever).
If you want to pay using DGB, technically, you have to buy "credits" (ie DGBs), then spend it, then the seller could use those "credits" or exchange them for dollars. At a moment , (high) value has been created and the user pays it.

The truth is when you put dollars on paypal, the only thing you "buy" is the service of the bank when you pay, but you still are the owner of your dollars. The only way paypal makes money is transaction fees.No value has been created in the transaction (only fees for service are paid)
With DGBs, when you "buy" DGBs for the first time, you pay the original owner of the DGBs (or the lastest specukator to own it), and you no longer own your dollars, but just "credit" whose value in dollars can go up or down.

This is sure, even if you try to change the naming, the potential users will quickly point that out and ask you "why would people make money when I, as a user buy DGBs first ? ( because this is true, and that is probably why we are here, we have nothing else to gain, fees are not for us, and people using DGB won't generate any additionnal money to anyone, this is a one-shot deal).

So you have to prepare to answer this question, and in my opinion, here is the way to explain:

Each DGB can be seen as a credit that is highly secure and allows fast transactions, consider each "credit" as a container for your money.
To allow that level of security, each credit is unique and has originally been processed by high end computing systems, this costs time and money, and that is what you pay for.

Obviously it is always a matter of vocabulary, because ppll won't own their original $ anyway, but at least you can try to justify the value of what you sell them.

About law aspects, i don't know how it works in usa( i'm in France), but maybe you could check how it works for "virtual currencies" in mmorpg games or so, is it illegal ? i gues no, finally DGBs are not so different, is it just the game that is way bigger. Smiley

PS: suggestion: call the coins "Digibyte credits" or "Digicredits by Digibyte system"

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ DigiShield ✔ USD/DGB Coming Soon @Prelude.io ✔ on: March 26, 2014, 05:17:33 PM
Should we re-brand DigiByte?

According to Article 1 Section 8 of the US constitution no one but the federal government can coin money or make currency. Since we are an American based team we have come to the consensus we are technicality violating our own constitution.
Quote
To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

We are considering completely dropping any reference to the term currency and re-branding Digibyte as a "Professional decentralized crypto payment system."

When we try and describe what a crypto currency is we often get the deer in the head lights look. But recently we have been trying the approach "Digibyte is like a faster, cheaper more efficient form of PayPal." This seems to be something people can relate to and understand.

Essentially we want to start promoting DigiByte as a payment platform for merchants were we send bytes back and forth and not so much as a "currency" per say.

Technically the same horse, but new name. Same car, new paint job. This may be a way to separate DigiByte from the other "coins." What are your thoughts?

The fact that you are concerned about respecting US constitution is probably the best communication ever.

I believe today there are different groups of people regarding cryptocurrencies:

1/those who know the money they invest in is worth nothing, and is just a speculative value, they want to buy cheap, to dump high, and make easy money ( by fooling people in making them belive they are buying the ultimate "coin")
2/those who believe that the coin they've chosen will have the same destiny as BTC and keep it, hoping that it will have a high value, in monthes or years
3/those who could be interested in crypto but are just afraid to be dealing with the guys of 1/ ... and probably need a reason to get DGBs (create a need) and arguments to trust the "coin".

I believe we , DGB supporters are the 2/ and need to show to 3/ that this is honest business.

Being concerned about laws, is probably the best approach to convince people you are not just scaming them by making false money.

conclusion:
-show this i an honest business(respect laws, don't hide things)
-create a need ( seal deals with resellers, push DGB as the new payment system, fast and secure)
-let the world know about that

And it should be good.

Someone is clearly exploiting the weakness of Mintpal. (displayed and pre-filled sell price is last transaction 's price, but no notion of amount is taken into account to average the value)
If you look carefully, there are some sell orders at low price submitted very frequently, but with really small amount.
It looks like it makes some other sellers panic, so they adjust sell price to this low, and get bought instantly.
the exchange book looks like : 1 small buy 1 smal buy 1small buy, 1 normal buy, and i guess the normal buy correponds to a seller that has been fooled by this artificially low price.
what does that mean for the future, don't know but I imagine someone is trying to make stocks of #SPA for cheap...

Digibyte is a fail I think. It's so sad !

I will go to Saturncoin because it is very cheap and I think I will earn money very fast. 0.00000003 sat.
Saturn can go easily to 0.00000050 in 2-3 weeks. More than 10 time your bet

If you justwant small, fast and easy money, you are right, you'd better leave.

If you are interested in a real project, stay.

I prefer to bet on work rather than on roulette...

when it opens on a market, the first trade sets the value for a short moment, I imagine some smart organized people place both a sell and a buy order (with small amount) to artificially set a high value, then try to dump their coins at this value..

We are getting added to Moolah!

Quote
@DigiByteCoin You'll be live on Moolah in time for Prelude launching tomorrow.

https://moolah.io/

Funny , last week many of us contacted their support to add dgb, and the answer was the community was too small.
And after being adopted by agx, cryptsy and pushed by doge community for helping them with digishield, dgb becomes attractive to their eyes.
Probably releasing the roadmap and showing the community is made of people who are in charge helped a lot, going social probably helped a lot too (i must admit I was sceptical, but guys you were right, it is the order things have to happen, being known before being used)

Congratulations Jared !

difference

if we are to debate which blue we prefer, my choice is second one, looks more like what could exist in real life while first is too flashy and saturated to look like a real object in a real life.
I also think the 2nd color is closer to the original dgb logo.

Anyway, the important thing is the symbol (money has its shield)

Thanks for the input. I added shadows and did some tweaking with the colors. What do u think of it?

http://imgur.com/PlLZnrq

Hey I was busy, sorry for late reply
Yes integration looks better now with the graded color and cast shadows
There may be the top left side of shield that still has a small white crisp line over the digiman, that could be fixed with a little blurred feather, but it is not mandatory.

good job man Smiley

Nice,
I suggest you try to desaturate a bit the blue of the shield and play a bit with hue and light so it matches perfectly the blue of the digiman, for perfect intgration (cast shadows from digisheld to digiman could help too)

Nice job anyway

Of course joking, but it would be nice that other coins cause use digishield as is and keep the name DigiShield.

I don't really like these new coin voting systems... If they exist they should be based off user votes alone and not bribes  Cry

Also, the fact that we have a stable user base means we'll hit there eventually if we don't make it in the next voting round...

Yep being able to buy votes is exactly the opposite of a democratic way of electing people/stuff/coin/miss universe .
I believe they should clearly say they are not asking people to vote but are auctionning for x new coins...
It would be nice if they were separated out so people could see how many people have actually voted for a coin. We are going to do everything we can to get listed on there this week.

But in the mean time we are very excited for Austin Global Exchange to open exclusively with DigiByte trading in a few hours!

They are a legitimate & professional US based exchange registered and approved by FinCEN that we have very high hopes for!

https://agx.io/
I totally agree with what you said last time about giving 1.5BTC is enough.
If they want to add DGB they can, but at a certain level you can't spend important amounts and lower the money value just to get to them.

Austin guys seem to be lucid about the potential of DGB, that looks more of a professionnal business to business approach.

As much as I support Maza I support free speech even more and cannot support this thread being moderated by those who see fit to delete those who speak out against the coin

I'm surprised the mods closed the other thread at the whim of you guys who cannot accept there will be those against the coin. I for one would like to hear both sides of the "coin" so to speak and now I will not because you will delete anything that is against the coin.

The moderations in this thread could potentially do more damage to the coin than any troll or fud spreader could do

Do we really need such moderation when there is an ignore button or are people seriously that incapable of clicking on said function ?

hey they 've invented a new concept, one thread for people who like, and one thread for those who hate.

as those two groups never got to discuss together, it's simpler like that.

lovers will love....haters will hate...
