1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymity VS tracing transactions. on: August 30, 2019, 05:38:46 PM
Anonymity with bitcoin is the only way, we cover how to do it in our thread on this

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5178330.0

You can't have some people get anonymous transactions and others want everyone's ID in a centralized database.

Especially with a currency war right now, holding USD, Yuan, Euro, GBP all seem like a bad idea.

Those were once the "good" currencies!!

Taking a rich persons public statement about investments seriously, is always a bad idea
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is In Peril Due To The Centralization Of 2nd Layer Scalability Solutions on: August 28, 2019, 06:42:51 AM
Bitcoin is 10 years old, works fine as store of value

10 years from now see how many 2nd layers and side chains have launched to make bitcoin even more valuable

There is no problem with bitcoin as OP is suggesting because we all know about the trade offs with using bitcoin until "faster payments" are actually expected to work in less than 10 minutes.

Blocks being solved every 10 minutes means bitcoin is gaining strength and value. That is all that matters.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what way bitcoin gets increased usage? on: August 28, 2019, 06:36:01 AM
Second layers and side chains that work with bitcoin for payments like Lightning Network and Liquid

Once we have 10-15 different options (with different trade offs) for using bitcoin and money, it's going to increase adoption 10X

People somehow still believe that as long as you don't have to submit your ID and other personal information to an exchange, that you are completely anonymous. People have to find out the truth the hard way I guess.

i'm not seeking anonymity so much as avoiding being low-hanging fruit. by all appearances, the people the IRS are currently shaking down are those who were in the 2018 coinbase summons and customers of exchanges who send 1099s. if a 3-letter agency really wants to nail you, it's another matter entirely, but avoiding KYC is a good way for casual users to generally stay off the radar.

Exactly! This is why Anonymous Exchanges and methods to buy and sell bitcoin world wide will always be popular.

Even in a "banned" country, traveling somewhere and buying/selling bitcoin for cash is always possible.

Bank of England outgoing Governor just gave a speech telling central bankers the US dollar wont continue to be the reserve currency

cnbc.  com/2019/08/23/bank-of-england-governor-mark-carney-says-trade-war-is-having-a-confidence-effect-on-business-around-the-world.html   (forum says suspicious link for some reason)

There is too much debt in the Fiat system. We are in uncharted waters after the Quantitative Easing we saw in 2009 just left a larger hole than people could ever repay.

It isn't bad for bitcoin but to say this is good, we really can't be certain how the central bankers are going to try and change the national currencies.

It is obvious they are all planning how a digital currency solution would work for THEM (probably not US)

How to Keep Big Brother from your Bitcoin is our new article for bitcoin anonymity

https://www.bestbitcoinbuyers.com/2019/08/16/keeping-big-brother-away-from-your-bitcoin/

Topics covered:

1. VPN's/TOR

2. Multiple Bitcoin Addresses

3. Browsers, search engines, operating systems

4. Securing Email

5. Encrypted Messaging

6. Anonymous Bitcoin Exchanges

7. Coinjoin/Mixing Bitcoin

You do not need any of these. Just buy bitcoin somehow. And deposit your BTC in one exchange (which doesn't need any KYC process) and trade your BTC with any other cryptocurrencies. Then withdraw your wallet or buy Bitcoin again from another exchange and keep it safe.

Mixer's is another solve off course.

Some people want increased security with their internet browsing and bitcoin funds.

Internet service providers store all of your internet activity, what if an employee wants to steal your data? Your banking data, emails, sms data... there are tons of ways that hackers steal from people that can be easily avoided.

The need for security increases for people that want to take control of their money and their data. If you dont want to do that then dont.

How Binance is anonymous? Yeah for certain amount of withdrawal, you will not need to provide them your identifications data but if you want to withdraw more than the limit then you will need to verify your account.

You answered your own question and screen shot where it says under 2 bitcoin no KYC? That is over $20,000 in USD funds you would be moving in or out of an exchange, so yes it does require KYC for that large of amount.

Most people do not have the need to move that amount of bitcoin in and out of an exchange though...

A centralized exchange will always have the pressure from the authority.

They moved company location to Malta when Japan and Hong Kong legislation started becoming draconian towards crypto.

People's money isnt at risk with a company like Binance as much as the fly by night exchanges popping up everywhere.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin need to be a currency? on: August 23, 2019, 06:48:47 PM
Its a store of value, a settlement layer to pay for things that a person could use as a currency

With 2nd layers and side chains rolling out over the next decade people will just use Lightning Network or Liquid for payments in future.

Different trade offs for many different payment options that work with Bitcoin, some with stablecoins, some with other solutions.

Some will be completely anonymous, some will require ID. It will be amazing in a few years though.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM's are popping up on: March 23, 2019, 03:22:45 AM
Bitcoin ATM's are like Arcades vs. XBOX/PS/Nintendo consoles

You can travel to the big box and overpay for digital coins or someone will build an app where buyers and sellers can easily meet to exchange money for items near them in a community.

It's silly they want these boxes to take peoples dollar bills when the stores they are located in already have cash registers and staff. The person at the counter can take money and enter the amount of bitcoin to transfer the person... the fee could be lowered without the bulky box there to take the fiat.

You are advertising bounty manager services here and asking if bitcoin can be worthless?

You probably are looking to get paid in bitcoin for services and know the answer to your question already.

Banks spend millions on advertising for a reason.

Education over time is all the marketing bitcoin needs...
