Those of you who mine X11 with 1% CPU, which coin are you mining?
I only tried darkcoin with 26% CPU but I think there may be differences between coins.
My cpu is a Phenom X4 970 with 125W, so it is not OK for me unless it is in power saving mode.
OK mystery solved! I updated to the latest miner and now I get 1%  Now the question is, which X11 coin do you think is more profitable to mine? |

Those of you who GPU mine X11 coins, did you notice that CPU is used 25% ?
I tried it, mining works great with my 7950 card and I get 1,6MH/s (darkcoin) but CPU is used 25% constantly.
This does not allow my CPU to go to power saving mode and in the end, although my GPU runs cooler, I think I end up using a lot more power.
Did you notice the same?

I apologize if this has already been answered before, but I couldn't find it so I have to ask:
While I mine with my 7950 and sgminer, although my GPU runs very cool and with only 47W, sgminer is using up 26% of my CPU.
This does not allow the CPU to go to power saving mode. In the end, I end up spending a lot more power to mine darkcoin compared to every other coin in the market.
Is there a problem with my sgminer config or is it like this by design?

Zeitcoin was hurt from Cryptorush. Now that Cryptorush is exposed, I think Zeitcoin will gain value again. Guys I am not sure you will get a chance to buy cheap until Friday, I already see the buy wall getting raised... I am also planning to buy more Zeit, should I wait until Friday or will it be too late ? I am very happy with the minting process. I actually want to quit all mining soon and only do minting. |

I got my first failed (grey) mint transaction.
It was during a time that my Internet connection was very busy and the latency was high. That can explain why some other minted block succeeded. I think the faster you can propagate your block on the network, the better your chances. Those of you with a lot of failed blocks check your internet connection latency and how many nodes you are connected to.

Can anybody answer on my question: Why I have 20 days old coins, but there is no minting??
You have to compete with people who have older coins or more coins. If your coins lose then they get older and then they will eventually "win" and you will get them minted. |

Without any consistent updates we can only wonder.
But I still think that there should be an outlet for community discussions and projects.
This thread has become mainly focused on the mining/trading aspect, which is fine, but it gets cluttered a bit when trying to discuss future plans.
I hate to keep harping on this, but I feel there are great ideas waiting to be discussed, and we need a better place to do that.
Some may be thinking "patience, slow down, everything will come together".
But I say we can't take any day or moment in the day for granted anymore.
Beyond the mining/trading aspect, this could be a great movement whose time has come, if just executed correctly.
But we can't have serious discussions in here where every other day someone comes in yelling about a scam or crying about coins lost, or how many coins they've accumulated, yadda yadda.
If someone knows for a fact that the devs are working on one, great, then I can't wait to see it.
If not, we should develop one or at least hop into one of those un-official forums.
I know just from reading in here that there are at least a few dozen individuals who are waiting for this outlet and anxious to share their ideas.

Believe me I have tried my best  It just seems that this community has the best people who will help! You need to use vertminer and not cgminer! But vertminer was giving me random crashes to my computer so I turned to doge mining for now |

That's about the only thing I noticed with my endless gray entries. They seem to be climibing. Of course, it gets a bit muddier because, in between, there are new gray entries, and it gets more and more difficult to follow. It would be nice if they could be turned off somehow.
Try to use the filter on the top, instead of All there are two "Mined" options. I have no gray mined so I cannot test it. |

Personally I am very happy with Zeitcoin.
Everything is working flawlessly.
Fast transactions - no problems with PoS.
I don't want to spend energy any more, PoS is the way to go.
My thanks to the devs of this coin.

Day 2, four receive transactions over 20 days old. Still no minting.  Not sure what the problem is. Wallet is unlocked. I updated wallet version yesterday to 1.0.1.0. WTH? I am relying on this minting to continue generating coins for me since the reward and block halvings are slowly making it unrealistic to CPU mine anymore. And I don't have any free money available to buy from the exchanges, as much as I would like to. Any thoughts on why I'm not minting? I had six receive transactions between the 2nd and 3rd of March, and then one send transaction on the 3rd of March. Is it possible that send transaction is causing the holdup right now? The first four receive transactions that have passed the 20 day mark are in greater total than the one send transaction. Not sure if that would help someone help me figure out what is going on. It also depends on the amount of coins. If I understand it right, the more money you have mature for minting, the more chance you will make a block. Also, the more mature your coins are, the higher the chance. So what amount are you talking about? |

The problem is, you can't change an adaption rate that fast.
Imagine you make $2000/month. 2000 ZEIT is barely over 1 cent. While it would be nice to look at things like that, people can't afford to switch like that, in order for that person to make their $2000 a month, they'd have to make 400,000,000 @ 1 satoshi, 200,000,000 @ 2 satoshi, and so on. Obviously that's not possible.
Even to cut that in half, at $1000/month, would be 200m/100m at current rates. Not going to happen. :/
Yes of course, noone says you have to abandon your day job. At first you can only spend a couple of hours from your free time (monthly) to provide services. This would be extra income. Secondly, you can ask let's say 70% of what you would normal ask in fiat. So what you will be doing is sacrificing a small amount of your free time to help promote cryptocurrencies and what you believe they represent. And who knows, if cryptos become a success you may benefit as an early adopter. If they fail, you will only have lost time. |

I think the whole idea of cryptocurrency is to use it as a currency. Meaning that it has to be used for the exchange of goods and services.
Today all cryptocurrencies , including Bitcoin, are used as commodities. People use it as a mean to increase their "fiat wealth".
Investors just buy and sell in the hope that they will make fiat money.
Miners mine it and sell it to make money.
Even merchants that accept cryptocurrencies, simply set the prices according to the fiat exchange rate. They probably immediately sell the crypto in order to get fiat currency.
The real revolution is when people stop caring about fiat currency and start using crypto currency without thinking about the fiat to crypto exchange rate.
For example:
Normally an IT specialist can provide his services to companies for 1000euro per day.
If he was to provide his services for 1000 zeitcoins per day without thinking about the exchange rate, this would inevitably creating an upward pressure to the exchange rate of zeitcoins. If a lot of people did that, then inevitably the zeitcoin would reach euro parity...
I do realise that this is difficult to do at the moment because people need money to survive.
But it would be possible for people to provide services for a smaller price than they would in fiat. This would still help the coin gradually gain value. It needs years but it is possible.
I think a good start would be the people in the cryptoworld. We all have skills. Maybe we can offer some of our time for a smaller price in Crypto.It doesn't have to be only the developers that help the coin. We can all do it.
