It was the touch sensor, its ok now, not sure if it got some dirt on it but yesterday I tried many times and the LED just flashed but it never recognized the touch. Checked the drivers it was installed correctly and run through their troubleshooting, it didn't even recognize it on their demo site but it still worked with the Yubico app, but no matter how many times I tried it over web it just timed out. Then all of a sudden this morning it started working again and now works flawlessly.

I will be buying a second one though and adding to the account as a backup just in case I have any future issues.

Never heard this type of authenticator before but still, it is just like a cellphone authenticator.

This is the highest level of authentication that Coinbase recommends, they rate it higher than the authentication apps, it also has its own app that you can use for sites that don't accept U2f.

I have a coinbase account and I added a Yubikey 5 nano for Authentication. I've only had the key 24 hours and it seems to have failed. It no longer works with coinbase and I also tried to add it to my google account and I juts get the error timed out.  My understanding is that to begin the authentication you have to touch the copper bit on the front of the key to activate authentication however when I do this nothing happens and the LED keep flashing. Does anyone else use one of these keys and can confirm this is the case?

The odd thing is it work fine in the mobile OTP code app.

Why don't you show us details of the transcation this would be clearer. And also have you been using the site before if yes had you ever experienced any hassles such as this one. Well if the site is legit you need to relax some times transactions takes time. And I think it's also traceable

Not sure what you mean details of the transaction? I have a screen grab from the transaction froze? My post was in by no way trying to bash this company, initially it was just my panic at thinking I may have lost the coins, that's why I came back and posted that it had been resolved.

Well seems in my case it was just a technical issue and they sorted it, they have now complete the transfer after me contacting tech support.

Not sure if ill use them again though this has left me feeling very nervous.

Thanks

I just tried it again with a very small amount, that went through ok, when I searched my address as you suggested it just showed the one going through now. Sad

I have sent an e-mail to support, will they have full records of what went on? and if it was a failure on there end will I get my fund back do you think?

Thanks

I just tried to do a swap on the FAA.ST website, $10k BCH for BTC, the BCH went from my account but the order continued to show pending after 2 hours I never received the BTC in my account.

How is this possible? have I lost my money?

Any advice please?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Alt Coin Exchanges Direct From Nano S on: April 10, 2019, 12:26:23 PM
What are the best exchanges for Alt coins that I can do swaps direct from the Nano S, for both safety/reliability and low fees?

I have been looking at the FAA.st website, is this site safe to use? I did start to do a trade on the but it was requesting me to export my public keys and I wasn't sure if this was safe to do?

Are there any other alternatives as I noticed the FAA.st website didn't do that many alt coins.

Thanks
8  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger S Passphrase 25th word on: April 10, 2019, 09:45:59 AM
Hi thanks for the clarification, my main concern is how to securely store the seed so if I have an issue with the Nano S I can restore my wallets to another device but at the same time stopping anyone else from doing so if they get hold of it. If someone in the know came across my 24 word seed is this all they need to gain control of my wallets or would they still need the PIN I had set on my Nano S? or any other information?

Thanks
9  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Ledger S Passphrase 25th word on: April 10, 2019, 09:01:45 AM
I was reading that as an extra level of security you can add a 25th word to your passphrase, however when I look at the guide on the ledger website it offers two options, set temporary passphrase or attach PIN. Non of these seem to be adding an additional word to the passphrase from the descriptions. Am I missing something?

I'm new to the ledger S and I don't want to do something without fully understanding the consequences.

Basically I want to protect my assets should my 24 word passphrase fall into the wrong hands. Both the options above talk about creating a new set of additional accounts which is not really what I'm trying to do.

Thanks
