Kaafila is a decentralized media and education project built with blockchain technology of Algorand and IPFS. We have started with a new video sharing app to support independent content creators, through which we will offer a wide range of free courses, with tests, certifications, and internships to our Users worldwide. Kaafila will educate and enable career growth for Users in multiple industries, with top focus on software industry.
Kaafila is developing a portfolio of software/blockchain apps: Decentralized Video Sharing App, NFT Marketplace, Courses System, Metaverse for Virtual Learning, Universal Payment System, and a New Programming Language — to create a “blockchain ecosystem” that’s driven by constant innovation, and supported by Users worldwide. All apps have a common theme of “knowledge sharing and monetizing of knowledge” in the blockchain economy, which has huge growth ahead.
Kaafila (KFL) token is modeled on Bitcoin (with finite supply and 4-year halving cycle). Therefore, KFL tokens will be released gradually over 20+ years, to ensure enough supply of KFL tokens to reward future efforts to grow the project. Total KFL token supply is finite and predefined at 100 billion tokens (of which 50 billion tokens are locked till 11 June 2025, and they will be released over 20+ years by the efforts of Kaafila Users and Team Members). This gradual token release schedule of Bitcoin has demonstrated clear benefits of limited and controlled supply of tokens over a long period of time.
We currently have over 21K Users and 65 Team Members, and we are just getting started! Kaafila aims to be the blockchain project with the largest user base, by helping over 100 million Users (with courses, tests, certificates, internships, and various software/blockchain apps). Kaafila Users and Team Members earn KFL tokens for their various efforts to operate and grow the project.

We will use our blockchain platform for delivering free courses to people worldwide, so that anybody can learn and earn, irrespective of their present economic condition, and we will reward merit/performance with awards, scholarships and internships. We also want to encourage individual content creators in all industries/niches, with good rewards for their creations.

Over next 20 years, Kaafila project will aim to help over 100 million people with free courses, tests, certificates, and internships offered through our platform. In return, Kaafila project will benefit hugely from the effort contribution of some of the top performers in the courses and internships.
The focus is on offering wide range of learning resources and courses (mostly free), so that people worldwide can learn and benefit irrespective of their background and income level. The focus is also on creating a large network of people who want to learn constantly to progress in their life.

We also want to support and promote a wide range of creative people involved in music, arts, sports, etc — through regular competitions, awards, and promotional gigs. For example, Kaafila is developing an “NFT Marketplace” to enable artists and creative professionals to earn more from their craft.
Support for Social Causes is a key driver and major motivation for Kaafila team, and we believe that support for social causes will make Kaafila project truly successful, and enable worldwide adoption for KFL token. Social Causes will be supported and managed by our “Trust & Safety” team. We aim to support a wide range of social causes worldwide, through our “Social Causes System”, which will enable Kaafila Team Members and Users to list and support social causes using KFL token. Most of these social causes will be linked to providing food, education, healthcare, hope, and relief in emergency situations. We want to use our free education courses to benefit children/youth from poor economic backgrounds, by forging partnerships with local entities/schools/social workers. Support for Veterans is also an important cause, and we plan to work with multiple Veterans support groups.
TechnologyTechnologically, the Proof-of-Work blockchain is not suitable for handling transactional systems (high frequency and volume of data). Kaafila has tested the blockchain-only solution and found it to be too costly, too slow, and to have a lack of privacy in storing decryption keys – and that is why we use a hybrid stack: the smart contract on Blockchain, payments, and governance; and the already established SQL database with a Node.js application server providing the API for transactional operations between the players and the core platform. We observe the growth of side-chain systems technology and look forward to its readiness for business.
