The ticket sale has now progressed beyond the cut-off point where the draw will be able to take place. Even if we were not to sell a single additional ticket, there are now enough funds (barring a catastrophic fall in the bitcoin price) to execute the competition successfully.

This is obviously an important milestone. Ticket purchases are continuing, albeit at a more steady pace than in the first few days, but all players can now enjoy the knowledge that they will have that opportunity to Win The Dream in the upcoming draw. We read this interest the positive and negative posts on all of the places we are promoting this, but repeat what we said previously - people can and should make their own decisions on whether to participate. If you don't want to buy any tickets that's absolutely fine and not a problem. Engaging in a to-and-fro with those who are against the project achieves nothing except hot air and a waste of time for all concerned. We also simply wouldn't have the time across all the channels we are promoting this.

On a more positive note we have now distributed around a third of the ticket allocation, which includes the first group of referral tickets. It's impossible to give a clear average purchase amount per holder as there is too much variance at the moment. Some buy one or two tickets, some a lot more. At 21,000 total tickets, this is a small draw compared to most and consequently gives much better odds of winning.

Website now updated with more details regarding the ticket sale duration, procedures throughout and after the sale, and answers to a few 'what if' scenarios. All this is in line with our build-up to 1400 UTC on Wednesday 1st May when the ticket sale opens. We have had a number of queries about buying earlier, with one asking if a purchase could be made earlier if it were for a large number of tickets. The answer is no, partly because our systems and staffing are based around that schedule, partly because this is an open, fair ticket sale and draw, and finally because linked to the previous point, regulations would prohibit such an advance sale.

We're still catching up on our backlog of queries so please be patient if you have yet to receive a reply - we're exceptionally busy as we manage the promotion for the competition across multiple media formats from today onwards, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We appreciate all comments made and of course it's entirely up to members whether they choose to participate in the draw. If you're doubtful or critical then just don't take part, simple as that! The most important differentiator for our draw is the relatively high chance of winning compared with others. There is unfortunately no such thing as a free lunch - we could have set the ticket price lower, but then the ticket sale quantity would have to be increased and players would have less chance of winning. We have set up this draw with a much lower than typical maximum total number of tickets in order to give that higher chance of winning, especially for players holding multiple tickets via purchase and/or referrals.

Just a brief weekend update.

Firstly, we have now set the final ticket sale opening time for 1400 UTC May 1st 2019. From that time, all tickets purchases will be processed in the order they are received, regardless of quantity. Please be aware there is a chance of early delays depending on demand, so your patience will be appreciated.

We will be putting some additional information on the website on Monday to clarify a number of scenarios raised and addressed here and from other avenues since launch was announced. See our previous reply for more on this. Also, many thanks for bringing the unfortunate typo that slipped into part of the website to our attention. Annoying and embarrassing that it slipped through the proof-reading, but now corrected!

A number of emails have asked about the referral system for extra tickets and querying if posts can be made on facebook, twitter, blogs and any other media to direct friends, colleagues and other traffic to the website. Of course, we welcome this and it will help to ensure a fast and smooth execution of the ticket sale stage. By incentivising ticket buyers to do this and gain themselves additional tickets in the process, everyone benefits. All we would ask is that such marketing/promotion is not started until Monday 29th April in order to better co-ordinate with our own plans. Thank you for all your comments since our initial posting. We have had a lot of emails and also a number of attempts to purchase tickets via the entry page. These tickets sales will obviously not be fulfilled at this time as the draw doesn't open until 00:00 UTC 1st May, but we realise the ticket page perhaps wasn't clear enough and have added a bold notification of when tickets can be purchased. Apologies for any confusion on that.

In other comments made via email and here, yes of course we are making some profit from the draw after covering costs - that is how we are operating it, and we are planning to operate further bitcoin draws in the future (although this will be our one and only Lamborghini offering). We have set a profit margin that we feel is reasonable for the costs and logistics involved and yet also offers players a very fair margin of winning, as some have already calculated from ticket numbers against prize cost/overheads. We would add, however, that our profit margin is not as simple as number of ticket sales x cost of ticket vs cost of the car. Operating costs, especially with the logistics involved for a prize draw such as this one, are more substantial than may be imagined.

There is some concern about the scenario where the allocation of 21,000 tickets are not fully sold, along with the length of time the ticket sale for the draw will operate. Valid points, and we will be making additions to the website to cover this over the next few days.

Firstly, from our own experience in this sector and market testing earlier this year, along with the early positive response to the website, we are anticipating a swift and complete sale rather than the opposite. The referral system in particular has proven popular at all stages. In the event however of this not happening, we have a small 'buffer' number that the ticket sale can still be closed at. In the extremely unlikely event that the sale still does not succeed in reaching this number, then all tickets will be voided and funds will be returned to the wallet address they were made from. All funds from ticket purchases are held in separate addresses by player, easily visible on the blockchain, and this group of addresses are effectively 'escrowed' and are not touched unless a) All tickets are sold whereupon the funds are utilised for the prize, or b) The unlikely event of the draw being cancelled, whereupon the transactions are reversed to the addresses they came from.

In terms of ticket sale duration, we have to be guided up to a point by the rate of ticket sales over time, but rest assured this sale will not be entirely open-ended, nor indeed run for months or anything like that. It will be fairly easy to judge early on how long it is likely to take to complete the sale of tickets, and we will keep everyone updated on progress via email, posts on here and other places we are active, or players can check for themselves via the ticket sale progress bar on the front of the site.


We hope this post addresses some of the key points made to us since we opened the website and announced this groundbreaking prize draw. We are honestly as excited to be running this as the players are indicating they are to be taking part in it!
