well, I used a workaround solution by editing the initial post. still can't reply the thread though. it's bit weird, as I can reply to other threads on here fine.

The rate that the pool website displays is usually off. Go by what cgminer says. As long as your WU is good and have no HW errors you should be ok.

yea I can understand if they aren't coming in the same at the exact same time, but its consistently lower. I may have had a few hw errors? (will check next time) but the wu is good. I think I might try tweaking the config file again at some point. i'd like to give doge a fair trial but if its underperforming time and time again I see no reason to stick with it.

Difficulty for doge is still pretty high and rewards have halved recently. Maybe I'm a little OCD but if I don't see payouts coming in, I tend to not mine. So for doge, I unfortunately always mine at multipool (their dogecoin port, not the silly profit switching one). They have 10k miners and I get a fairly constant stream of doge every few minutes

i'm the same, as in I try to make decisions on it once I have calculated the yield from the established results. from looking at the prospects with it, I realised dogechain pool wouldn't net me enough to continue trying. i'm gonna either need to change something and try again or just stick with what i'm doing and not mine dogecoin.

gave this a try out of curiousity but the results weren't good. weirdly cgminer reports decent hash rate, 800+ and consistent. yet the pool site reports only about 500 max and frequently a lot less. this is in stark contrast to the performance stats for litecoin, the pool site for which tells me i'm averaging at about the right rate. its really up and down with litecoin, sometimes a lot higher than what I actually get and sometimes its lower than what my card is doing but it averages out about right. whereas with doge, its just completely wrong and totally under the expected result. I have a r9 290. would be interested to know if other people using 290's are doing better and if so what configurations you are using.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / problem with both sgminer and cgminer; .bat terminates prematurely on: February 27, 2014, 02:07:27 AM
this is happening with both cgminer and sgminer. I am trying to get up and running with mining litecoin but following everyones instructions in creating a bat file ,I can't find any which work. I double click on the edited bat file which contains all my saved setup information,account info,specs etc. and it runs for a fraction of a second and then terminates... is this a common error? has anyone else experienced the same thing and fixed it? I have no idea what is going wrong, I can't get a log file afaik so that I can't report an error.
i'm on windows 8 and using an r9 290 asus directcu.

edit, I solved the problem the other day but I can't seem to reply to this thread anymore. I fixed the above by following this tutorial;

Hi,
I started out with using this miner and although I was getting some success my hash rate is completely unstable, it goes from 300 to 800 over about 10 minutes and sometimes bottoms out at just under 50. this information was provided to me by the weminelitecoin user site as I was tracking the performance, yet within gui miner it is reporting an only slightly fluctuating return of about 570-600. I don't understand why there is this large inconsistency between both tools which are monitoring my khashs/s. here is a graph to give you an idea of how much it fluctuates on weminelitecoin;

my card is an asus r9 290 directcu which I have heard is more than capable of getting 800+. does anyone know what I need to do or change to get it running at a more stable high rate?
