better taste in music?

I actually don't know much more of that song, but that line gets stuck in my head whenever I think "what I want is...."  It's kind of a curse.

Isn't this kind of thing what spreadsheets are for?

-MarkM-

Maybe.  But I'm pretty new to the alternate world and I know I'm not the first person to think of this kind of stuff, so I was hoping there was something already in place in a centralized format.

Thank you!  I had a little looksy while waiting for the timer to allow me my next post, and that's definitely along the lines of what I had in mind.

This is very dangerous!
You are asking someone to take your api key and access your exchange account to retrieve this info on their website....

Pick up a book and learn how to write your own app. It's about 20 lines of code to grab prices and about 60 lines of code to grab your account info

Hmmm, I hadn't considered that!  Thanks for pointing it out.

1) A site that will allow me to compare various exchange prices for alt currencies.  It'd be awesome if I could select the currencies I want to compare so I can see how they're doing at different sites.  Arbitage.  You know, for kids.

2) An exchange site to show me not only the balances of my various coins, but the price at which I bought them and the price they are at the current time for easy comparison.  If it could also calculate my profit/loss at the moment, that'd be so excellent I might not be able to stand it.

Basically, I want a lot of info available on one screen instead of having to click around and hunt down the details.  And not have to waste my precious vision on coins I don't care about.  If I knew how to do build it myself, I would.  But alas, my skills lie elsewhere...like in telling the difference between butter and I Can't Believe it's Not Butter.

Please point me in the right direction if you know of any sites that can do these things and rock my world.  I'd appreciate it!

It was so obvious it was fake. Anonymous person using real name, some random old dude who had recently stroke. Newsweek that everyone forget still exists.

Maybe next time people will be smarter.

Not likely.

Whether it's him or not, she got what she wanted: attention.  The whole internet is buzzing with her name and Newsweek tied to Satoshi and bitcoin.

The ever-increasing size of the blockchain is something I hadn't considered.  That could definitely be a problem.  Like others have said, at least there's Electrum!

You can already post everywhere. There are no newbie restrictions anymore.

Excellent.  Thank you!

I'm new to the forums, but not bitcoin.  I've recently joined because I'm a grad student doing a research project on cryptocurrencies.  I'm hoping to find a lot of useful info around here!  Looking forward to that blessed time when I'm granted access to the rest of the site....
