Zeitcoin (ZEIT) $0.000001 (-90.26%)
we are unhappy for this price...
Who CAN be happy at that price? - Only someone intent on either destroying the coin (a rival) or wanting to buy cheap to unfairly profit (a manipulator) It is only an observation, not a claim of a causal link, that the price started tanking at the same time that the 'announcement' of effectively ending minting was made. I'm yet to be convinced that such a drastic departure from our master planned is justified, or desirable, and will do all I can to resist it. This is a community coin, and it's the decision & will of the community, not any one member, that should hold sway. So speak. Question. Let all thoughts & fears be heard. We have survived many crises in our nearly three years, and become stronger. Because we are a coin for the ages. WE ARE ZEITCOIN!

I still think that it's too early to make such a drastic change to the 'essentials' of the coin, and also the wrong way to go about doing it. We should plan to let the 5% rate run for a full year, and consider over that time the future direction to take. - Hearing from everybody involved, especially Ray, then having a COMMUNITY decision about it. The drop to 5% will reduce 'inflation' by 200%, the biggest drop in our history, so to me it makes sense to give THAT change a fair chance before deciding on a hyper-drastic change. The thing that worries me most is that under the proposed change, there will be NO incentive for peeps to keep coins in their wallets, so won't they then just park the lot on the exchanges? - And you can't keep a network going with a handful of nodes. Final thought (for now) I feel this should have been proposed & discussed within the Knights long before it was 'announced' here. - That's just NOT the way things are supposed to be done

@kiklo I can see why this might be attractive to some, certainly in the short term, but my initial 'vote' is to leave things exactly as they are for now. We have already reduced inflation from the original specs by abandoning the 10% phase. The artificially-manipulated low inflation rates in TRW can't & won't last. Lowering production in order to raise the price only benefits the short-term speculators & dis-incentivises long-term investment. Me, I'm playing the long game. I have faith that crypto-coins will play a pivotal role in the global economy in the medium-to-long term, and that Zeitcoin possesses all the attributes needed to become a meaningful part of that 'new economy'. No gimmicks, no bullshit PR, just a solid, reliable, simple, energy efficient alternatives to the rapidly-imploding fiat system. "That'll do, piggy"

YeahMon. Breathing is about all that's left Perhaps 'limited friction' would be an improvement?

It might be a good use for the "Knights' Fund" in the future too.
For sure, in order to 'take on the world' we will need mobile wallets one day.
The key is knowing WHICH day!

Just another reminder that the ONLY safe place for your crypto is in your own, encrypted, desktop wallet:- https://cointelegraph.com/news/monero-loses-darknet-market-in-apparent-exit-scamThe web wallet for Monero, MyMonero run by famed XMR developer FluffyPony, has been unresponsive for several days, according to several users on Reddit. Users reportedly were unable to withdraw funds and have contacted support days ago, with no response. Users are still able to import private keys to another wallet to secure their funds.
MyMonero wallets have been targeted in several large thefts, resulting in millions of dollars worth stolen this year. The evidence at this point is inconclusive as to whether the thefts resulted from security vulnerabilities in individual users’ machines, or from the wallet itself.

For once, you beat me to it The only surprise on that list is UNO. The rest fall into the 'did they really expect THAT to survive?' category.

Should we consider 'protecting ourselves'? https://news.bitcoin.com/blockchain-patent-trolling/?With the new blockchain industry growing, the rise of filing patents has become a seemingly necessary step for people starting new projects, with entrepreneurs and developers worried about patent trolls locking them out of their own ideas.

@Ray
Thanks for the 'save' with that troll, I was in shower prior to my fortnightly trip back to the 19th C.
Thought we were past that stage by now. Oh well.
One thing, I couldn't access his messages, even though I got notifications about them, did you block him or something?

Did someone pay for our listing or did we suddenly get a shitload of new supporters? Either way, it's a show of confidence in our future The halvening was a bit of a non-event - so far, anyway. - At least that stops our weak hands from cashing out into BTC.

IMO, what we will need first, and most, is a staking mobile wallet - and that will have to wait until the technology permits the storage of much more data than is currently possible, alongside more universal high-speed connectivity.
Or a mobile lightweight client that let's you control your desktop wallet: analogous to a remote desktop type of connectivity to a wallet running on a desktop or a server somewhere. Would look like, and act like a full wallet, but would just be a front-end controlling your full Zeit wallet remotely. What about the billions of souls that don't have - probably won't ever have - a desktop? And servers - Nope, I don't trust 'em. Insecure, centralised, need I go on?

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!! Even if it is just a blip, it's so goddam inspiring to see something like this on doing my daily value check... I take it that's an ATH?

As for the actions, here is what I think. Even in the so called 'survival phase' when many coins are born and die, ZEIT needs to have something that will mark its presence, and would distinguish it from other dying coins. Something, that will help the crypto SETI enthusiasts to have ZEIT on their radars (please excuse the old-fashioned astronomy analogy). A complete silence is not a best way of advertising a product, if you ask me. My suggestion is to have some form of 'keepalive' message to the community (with a fixed frequency, say once or twice a month), preferably not only in this forum, but to a broader scope (aka social media) to reach as many new users as possible. What could be in such message? To start with, similar things to what we post in this forum, e.g., advertisement of the update of blockchain snapshot, review of the global ZEIT volume in the last month, etc. It doesn't need to big thing, but something to show the activity of community. I believe this could be done without waiting till the 15% PoS rate drops.
OK, You're in charge of the keep alive messages. You write it, uki, and I'll make sure it's on our FaceBook page. I post key updates anyway. No idea who's in charge of twatter

In my case, you'd need a tunnelling electron microscope to even come close - it's probably more of a quantum thing anyway (The act of measurement CAUSES an outcome to solidify out of the cloud of possibility) Agreed 100% that it's too early to make any plans. After all, NO ecosystem has found the 'magic bullet' yet, not even close. (Everyone who DIDN'T buy into the DAO/Ethereum hype, take a bow ) IMO, what we will need first, and most, is a staking mobile wallet - and that will have to wait until the technology permits the storage of much more data than is currently possible, alongside more universal high-speed connectivity. As I've said many times over the last couple of years, right now we are in a simple survival game. How many hundreds of shitcoins & scamcoins have come & gone since we launched? Yes, we have a rock-solid wallet, an energy-efficient 'creation' system, a strong network & sufficient committed long-term stakeholders. But we are, outside any actions we can take, still slaves to the greater ecosystem - not only regarding BTC (anyone prepared to bet on what happens after the halvening?) but also with the global ponzi scheme of fiat money. Those few calling for radical action now, I'm sorry to say, just don't understand enough about 'what's really going on' to be taken seriously. "Live like you're going to die tomorrow, LEARN like you're going to live forever"
