DOTHEREUM OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT THREAD

{ Website }  { Telegram }  { Twitter }  { Reddit }

WHAT IS DOTHEREUM?

Dothereum will be a bridge enabling developers to request, import, and rent Ethereum state into the Polkadot network. Dothereum will continuously maintain synchronization with the Ethereum mainnet. The project will create a full-fledged equivalent of Ethereum, finally providing for smart contract functionality on Polkadot. It is an essential step in the development of the decentralized web and smart contract platforms. The open-source technology developed for Dothereum will serve as template for coders across the globe to launch their own custom smart contract parachains.

KEY FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES

Dothereum helps create a cross-chain future where any asset can be instantly exchanged between legacy blockchains. It is the ultimate interface for inter-blockchain communication that will link first dozens and then hundreds of networks.

Dothereum parachain makes it possible to transfer not only cryptocurrency but any digital asset, including non-fungible tokens and tokenized ownership rights for real-world valuables, such as real estate or mineral reserves.

Dothereum will provide a standardized open-RPC interface for Web-3.0 browser plugins, light clients, and other user-facing applications. Dotbitcoin, Dotclassic, Dotcash – any number of legacy networks can be linked within a single interface.

The Ethereum state size problem is too serious to be mitigated with sharding only. Dothereum will offer the most affordable way for coders to import and rent state storage space.

Dothereum will connect Polkadot to external blockchains that use their own consensus mechanisms, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, integrating their mainnets into the ecosystem while they remain fully independent.

Dothereum will also connect and validate application-specific parallelizable blockchains, or parachains, and relay messages between them containing transactions or arbitrary data.

THE FIRST SMART CONTRACT PARACHAIN:

DOTHEREUM IS BRINGING THE POWER OF EWASM TO POLKADOT

As Ethereum is transitioning from EVM with smart contracts written in Solidity to Ewasm with dApps compiled to Wasm, Dothereum sets out to provide a level playing field for all decentralized apps. Those coders who still want to use Solidity for their smart contracts will be able to do so thanks to a special tool that compiles Solidity to Wasm, but Dothereum will also act as a bridge for purely Wasm smart contracts. Of our key objectives is to make the advantages of Ethereum Flavored WebAssembly available to users on other blockchains.

ROADMAP

Q2 2019

Airdrop distribution of Dothereum coins (July 7) to ETH holders; launch of the bounty campaign; release of the Dothereum wallet for multichain asset storage.

Q3 2019

Expansion of the team; work on the Dothereum parachain and relay chain; second stage of the bounty campaign; expansion of the wallet functionality.

Q4 2019

Work on Dothereum relay-chain: sending, receiving and propagating transactions, routing and queueing asset transfers on the network layer.

Q1 2020

Release of the relay chain and integration with Polkadot; testing the parachain and the system for Ethereum rent fee collection and state import for coders.

Q2 2020

Launch of the state rent, request, and import module; testing the support for smart contracts written in Wasm; launch of the relay chain; transition to PoS.

Q3 2020

Integrating the first Ewasm dApps into the Polkadot ecosystem; beta-testing the Solidity-to-Wasm compilation tool; support for Rust, Go, C, and C+.
