1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: will LTC finally have a good run and go over $100! on: October 15, 2024, 09:55:13 PM
Litecoin [...] doesn't bring any innovation to the crypto/Blockchain space. By innovation, I mean smart contracts, NFTs, L2s, and whatnot.
While you're somewhat correct this is not entirely correct. Litecoin is the first major coin which has implemented Extension Blocks, which is a kind of L2 very similar to a sidechain, but "tied" very closely to the layer-1. Extension blocks were discussed in the scaling debate in 2016/17 for Bitcoin. LTC uses extension blocks for the MimbleWimble (MWEB) feature, but it can also be considered a scaling mechanism.

Suprisingly, it's one of the coins with the most trading pairs on the market. It also has high liquidity and trading volume.
This has probably mostly traditional reasons. LTC was used widely since the first big altcoin boom in 2014 to trade small coins with values per unit close to a satoshi. And LTC, as its unit isn't so pricey, can offer more granularity - if you have a coin priced at 2 sat for example, then if trading with BTC you would likely have a bid at 1 sat and the ask at 2 or even 3 sat, which would mean that the bid is only half or even a third of the ask Wink Not to mention coins with values below a satoshi, which could not have been traded for BTC (without introducing a sub-satoshi unit locally at the exchange).

LTC is one of my always favorite altcoins, if you use a decent wallet the fees are literally well below a penny USD, so actually zero. Plus, it is usually pretty stable and can be good for trading when it finally moves.

I have a moderate amount of LTC and the price has stalled quietly for a long time now. At some point LTC/USD will be easy to go higher when BTC flies above the current ATH. The real question is LTC/BTC will it have a major move up any time soon? If not, you are effectively losing some of your potential BTC stash as time goes by.

^^^ Consider parallel universe theory. If the theory is accurate, where do the other universes exist? They exist in the same space that our universe exists in. But they exist in part of what we call 'empty space'. The reason why they aren't apparent to us is that they each have their own, separate, 'universal vibration' just as our universe has....
...

But the main point is that the thing that we consider to be 'nothing' doesn't exist. In a vacuum chamber, nearly all the pieces/particles of this universe have been removed. But the removal of them has allowed other of the parallel universes to fill in the so-called evacuated 'space'.

Cool

BADecker, I have not had much spare time to enjoy online recently, and I just now saw your response. I am a huge fan of Sci-Fi and some of my favorite episodes include a parallel (alternate) universe. You took my mind to some new places, thinking these ideas can be real, thank you.

Cool topic, and isn't this nothing: Does an intentionally created "scientific" vacuum chamber contain nothing?

6  Economy / Economics / (Crazy HIGH Taxes) Inside California’s Black Market Weed Boom on: February 02, 2022, 01:41:58 AM
Illegal marijuana growers and sellers are making big bucks, while the legal stores make very little, if any money.

Here is an interesting video from Vice Media:

(If you enjoy the stuff) How does the economics of modern pot affect you? Do you buy it legally, or at a discount price?

Hm, well I will like to contribute my own point of view about trading, assuming you have 2000$ worth of Bitcoin already, why not sell half for stable coin? Hold the remaining BTC balance just Incase price surge later, holding that 1k stable coin will come in handy once price start declining too, tell me how this isn't the best trading plan?

A balanced approach with a good % of cash waiting is a solid plan. If you have enough income to invest more cash each month, for example, then many people would suggest going much closer to all-in, since they expect BTC to be in an extended Bull market.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Dark Web, Drugs and Government. on: June 25, 2019, 06:30:19 PM
This has been one of the largest concern when we talk about bitcoin, unfortunately the news is right most of the people in dark web used bitcoin to do transaction, I think the government need to do something to prevent this, bitcoin is only tools the one that is wrong is the users and btc is not totally anonymous

If the "government needs to do something" what do you think they can do which will not harm people? Do you actually think Big Government will help and how?
