This happened during the bull run in 2017:

So I fully agree with the title. Always keeps things in perspective! ;-)

Thanks all for the feedback and the nice words! It surely helps in keeping it going. Smiley And any suggestion you could come with is always appreciated.

But what I want to ask is how do I make this price exactly the same as the current price and so on?

The price is updated in real time, so I am not sure I understand this... What do you mean precisely?

Hi! I released a new version!

The most important feature are the mountains on the background. The most distant mountains depict the curve of the price in the last 24 hours, while the foreground mountains show the price curve of the last hour.
This allows to get the BTCUSD price situation at a glance.

Minor new features:

- Tattoo. The Bitcoin Rider decided to get a sleek tattoo with the Bitcoin symbol on his arm to celebrate the overtaking of the previous ATH. ;-)

- A link is provided to access previous versions ("Previous Incarnations..."). This is useful in case the new version(s) will suffer from performance degradation on some devices

- Shooting stars

- New donation buttons

Comments and suggestions are as always welcomed! :-)

That's cute!
Its fun to watch that motorbike moving, hope there's new background so it is not boring to watch but anyway that's not the main goal as the main purpose is to check the updated bitcoin price which is very useful to those who wanted to check out btc price without opening crypto wallets. I let out that link of yours in my browser so I can easily check the price just by opening that tab.

Maybe you can adjust font size to emphasize the btc price.

Thanks for the suggestions! Actually, a couple of days ago I updated the website so that it can display the price on the tab, so you don't even need to click on it to check the price. Wink

What I like with the website is that when the price goes up and down, the track of the rider also changes Cheesy
I wonder what will happen if the Bitcoin price continues to go up Cheesy JK.

I'm a minimalist guy most of the time I'm using preev too to check the prices. I'm expecting that you will add something on your website aside from the price of Bitcoin or possible other coins too Smiley.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, actually the track is continually "renormalized" to a centain Y position, so, if the bitcoin price continues to increase you will see a continuous slope. Only if the slope is too steep, the rider will jump out of the screen. Cheesy
I will surely add more features with time, but I'll also be careful not to put too many things. In fact, the original idea would be to keep the animation as minimalistic as possible.

Following suggestions on Reddit, I have added the live price on the tab of the webpage. This can be quite handy when browsing other pages. Wink Also dark mode is now available.

Well, that's so cute, [LMAO].

Thanks! Smiley

He will not get tired of a long ride or run out of gas?

Lol, yeah, I thought that myself too. But fortunately it is a fictional character. ;-)

simpler and minimalistic than graphs from other sites though it lacks some details and keen information that we really need if you need just of a glance then this site id perfect I recommend it to those who are having a hard time reading graphs or the likes. And for pro traders, this may have no use at all they need more detailed information when it comes to exchanges.

Yeah, that's not definitely targeted to pro traders. But the idea is to increase, in the following releases, the amount of information it can provide at a glance, like, for example, background scrolling landsape layer(s) with different price timeframes. Until now I kept it simple, also because increasing the complexity without careful coding can affect heavily the performance on smaller devices.

Till date, preev.com works best for me. I still wonder who runs it though!

Thanks for the hint!

Interesting. Minimalistic and straight to the point.

The scope, however, is a bit different: No "entertainment" there. Wink

But it gives a good suggestion, in that I could implement the possibility to select the source of the price. This might have drawbacks with the animation though, which becomes more interesting when the price refers to a source where the liquidity is high.

Hi there!  Cheesy

Check this out! A fun way to keep track with the BTC/USD price. A motorbiker rides on a landscape the curvature of which follows the BTC/USD price live:

https://www.thebitcoinrider.com/

I'm not sure if something like that extists already on the web (in that case, please comment!). I just thought it was a fun idea to put to practice and programmed the little cartoon.

Comments/Suggestions are welcomed! Thanks!

Cheers,
Ben

I just came back to this thread, and saw the unread answers, where it is debated about the scope of the "cartoon".

Is this used as a proxy for promoting a service or for the sake of the art itself (and to promote such art)?...

What about the author clarifying the question?  Wink

Well my intention would be to kill two birds with one stone, ideally getting a bootstrap effect, where the art promotes the service and vice-versa.

Both things are offered for free, with the hope to amuse and inform, hopefully not in an annoying way.

Thanks to mk4 for the suggestion of posting on Reddit. Any further suggestion is welcomed. I'm just a the beginning of these avenues, and don't have particular ambitions, but I shall start somewhere.

Thanks all for the prompt replies and opinions! Much appreciated. For now I only have one cartoon, and quite simple: I will try to post it on "Bitcoin Discussion", and see how it goes.

Thanks again,
Ben

As per subject. I found another thread with the same subject, but I could not find a suggestion there related to Bitcointalk.

Can one post it, for example, on the "Bitcoin Discussion" board? Or would it be deleted because off-topic?

It would be nice if there was a special section for this...

Thanks,
Ben

Hi!

"Chart Insights" is a YouTube channel featuring informative non-stop video streaming about Bitcoin price charts.

The chart presently offered is BTC/USD, active non-stop since May 2019:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj14MJtQBWg

It shows relevant price maxima and minima and volume levels for each traded price. Every volume line is traced starting from the pertaining price level, so it gives an idea of the evolution of traded volume at that particular price level.

The price is updated every 15 seconds.

It can be noticed that many volume levels corresponds to price support/resistance levels or, conversely, price acceleration (or breakout) levels.

The aim is to stay as objective as possible. No hand-written trend lines. No imaginary support/resistance lines. No ad-hoc indicators. Only plain price and volume information.

As I'm still in the experimental phase, interruptions of the streaming and redesigns cannot be excluded. I'm also considering to put some background music in the future. (partially done Wink )

Your feedback and improvement suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

Also, follow me on Twitter @InsightsChart
