1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The real winning of gambling is withdrawals on: June 13, 2024, 09:53:32 PM
Whenever I win, I usually feel this strong urge to gamble more and also increase the amount I'm using to gamble. I do fall for this urge most times and the result is always disastrous as I end up losing the money I won with great pain and regrets.
That’s gambling for you, whenever you are gambling and winning, you are always motivated to gamble more, but if you can’t control yourself, then you will end up regretting it. When gambling and winning, the winning can’t continue, and that’s what most people don’t understand. people gambling for the sake of money will want to win back all the money they have lost from gambling, but they don’t know that if they don’t stop gambling early, they will end up losing more money. So when gambling and winning, don’t be carried away, know when to stop.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting into crypto on: June 13, 2024, 09:24:38 PM
I was expecting you tell us your own story, where you hear about it and how you were able to pickup the courage and motivation to get into crypto, that is if you have even started investing in crypto or still gathering information.
Maybe the Op just wants to hear other people’s stories and is not ready to share his own. I don’t really know why the OP is really interested in hearing other people’s stories. When I first heard about crypto on  social media, whenever I am on YouTube, I do come across some videos about bitcoin and some other altcoins, so with time I do end up doing more research and learning more about it, and I started trading some altcoins even though I lost so much money then, but with time there was improvement.

If you want to learn about bitcoin and cryptocurrency generally, then the forum is just the best place for you because you will be able to ask questions and interact with people here, and there are lots of people with experience who will be sharing their knowledge with you. Also, if you are a newbie on the forum here, it’s better if you just start from the section where you created this thread, which is the beginning's, and help. You will be able to learn the basics about bitcoin, and then with time there will be improvement.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are cold wallets safer than online exchanges? on: June 13, 2024, 09:00:31 PM
If you had a large amount of cryptocurrency would you prefer to keep it on an offline cold wallet or an online cryptocurrency exchange?
It has been said multiple times on the forum here that coins shouldn’t be stored on exchange. If you store a coin on exchange, then it means you are not totally in control of your money and you can lose your coin at any moment, because no matter how reputable an exchange is, anything can happen to it at any moment. We have all seen different exchanges fail us in the past, and we should be expecting more in the future, so people will be losing money. The only time I do recommend that people leave their money on exchange is when they are trading with the money, but if you are not trading, then your funds should be in an offline wallet.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't forget to HODL your BTC on: June 13, 2024, 08:37:34 PM
Title.

Whales are going to start selling like last cycle.

Don't fall for the trap. Don't sell unless you absolutely have to!
I am not worried about the temporary dumps always happening in the market, no matter how the market dumps, I know it’s temporary. Whenever there is a dump in the market, if I have some money that I won’t be using, then I will be accumulating more rather than panicking and selling. Seriously, newbies are the only ones for whom I think they should panic whenever there is a dump in the market, but people who have been in the crypto space for a long time shouldn’t be disturbed, they should know it’s just temporary.

Hodl it until fiat becomes less popular than bitcoin.
I don’t even care if bitcoin will make fiat currency less popular, all I want is that bitcoin should be an alternative payment method and shouldn’t be competing with fiat currency. If you want bitcoin to start competing with fiat currency, then there will be a problem  because the government will do everything possible to counter any currency that’s going to kill fiat currency because the government is making use of fiat currency.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Didn't buy Bitcoin in 2009? Get a second chance! on: June 10, 2024, 06:08:19 PM
Didn't buy Bitcoin in 2009? Get a second chance! Buy ZRN (Zereneum).

New Blockchain
The Zereneum network will launch on June 8, 2024.
You can become the first participants in the Zereneum project.
Mining of the ZRN cryptocurrency will start on June 8, 2024 at 23.00 GMT.50 ZRN coins will be released every 5 minutes.

You can buy ZRN coins for 1 USD = 1 ZRN. Payment in any cryptocurrency.

To purchase ZRN coins at the lowest price, write to zereneum@gmail.com. To connect to mining, also write to zereneum@gmail.com

Telegram https://t.me/zereneum
Are you really serious about this? If anyone is interested in purchasing the coin, they will have to send a gmail first. That’s really funny. Seriously,  I will say you are promoting a scam project already. Maybe you are part of the team that is just looking for beginners that they are going to scam, because anyone who has stayed long in the crypto space won’t really fall for this.

So you think the project that you are promoting is going to do what bitcoin did? That’s really funny. It’s better you get a job and be doing it instead of trying to fool people on the forum here, because no one will be falling for your strategy.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: June 10, 2024, 05:49:29 PM
The problem is that, if gambling is something we should be having fun doing, and we are taking loan to do that then there is a mathematical error there. You shouldn't take a loan to do something "fun" that you will lose money on.
I just don't know what some people think before taking a loan. If you are taking a loan, then it should be for something reasonable and not for gambling. We know gambling is supposed to be for fun, then I don’t know why you have to be in debt just because you want to have fun, it's totally wrong. Why will you want to have fun, and after having fun, you will be looking for a way to pay back your loan? Maybe it’s just high time people started thinking before taking any action. When gambling, we should just have fun. Make sure we are not addicted to gambling, because addiction is what causes all those things.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Season on: June 10, 2024, 05:34:32 PM
Liverpool not winning either of the two trophies(Europa League or Premier League) last season was surprising to many because the majority of football fans were anticipating a trophy win for Liverpool towards Klopp, to honor him for all his wonderful years as Liverpool coach.
Liverpool played well in the Premier League until their performance dropped towards the end of the season, they lost matches which i never expected them to lose. There was a point at which I was thinking the premier league winner would be between Arsenal and Liverpool because Manchester City was in 3rd place. Then, until Liverpool started performing poorly, they were losing matches that they were supposed to win, so they dropped to 3rd place, and the premier league title was between Manchester City and Arsenal. Seriously, I was expecting a better performance from Liverpool, but things didn’t go well for them, and Klopp couldn’t win any trophy.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin gradually turning away from its purpose? on: June 09, 2024, 09:56:33 PM
Like the title explained it all when sighting towards the speculation or trade discussion section I mostly found out that lots of people are gradually turn away the purpose of bitcoin to mainly investment purposes and I mean to asked, was bitcoin created for investment purpose or it's for peer to peer to alternate fiat?

I would love to see different versions of input.
Bitcoin is not yet accepted in most countries, and governments are still against it in most countries, which is really affecting bitcoin growth. When bitcoin is accepted in different countries, the companies, and stores will begin to accept bitcoin as a payment method, then bitcoin will start serving its purpose, but for now everyone is making money from bitcoin. People are accumulating so that they can sell when the price is high.

I will be using my country as an example. Bitcoin transactions are not allowed by the Central Bank, and accounts connected to bitcoin transactions will be blocked, so don’t expect people from my country to be making transactions with bitcoin daily, because when they try to convert some to fiat, their account might be compromised, so everyone prefers holding their bitcoin.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Making a long post is not the ultimate on: June 09, 2024, 09:24:04 PM
There is nothing wrong with a long post, and I can read a long post, provided the topic of the long post is interesting to me.
If a topic is interesting and well arranged, you will be motivated to keep on reading the post, but from the way some people post, you are going to be discouraged, you will get tired of reading. Some of the posts will lack punctuation so if you are reading it you get confused sometimes. If you know you can’t properly arrange a long post, then just look for a way to summarize it, and make it meaningful, make it short and am sure people will appreciate it.

Some people do think until they make long posts before they will be merited, it doesn’t work like that even short posts are merited, if it’s informative, and useful to anyone or the forum entirely, then it’s going to be merited. But am not saying long posts aren’t merited also, if they are useful to anyone, and properly arranged, they might be merited by anyone.
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: June 09, 2024, 09:05:57 PM
I've a friend of mine who always complain that ever since he started gambling he haven't won a good amount, instead he'll be winning less money than what he expected but he can't stop.
It’s just because they have the confidence that they are going to win if they don’t give up. Some of them do hear about other people's success stories, so it’s always encouraging them to gamble more, if they keep on gambling, they are going to win. Some of them will have already lost a significant amount of money, so they will be trying to win back the money they have lost, so they are always finding it very difficult to stop. The funniest part is that if some of them are able to win back their losses, they won’t stop gambling, they will continue gambling, thinking they will be able to win.
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: June 09, 2024, 08:05:51 PM
Poor people try their luck in gambling, while rich people only entertain themselves in gambling because they have a lot of money so losing money is not so much of a problem for them.
When you are desperate to make money, you might not be making the money sometimes just because you are desperate. There are some things that you are supposed to do that you won’t be doing just because you are desperate. Rich people will be gambling for fun, so they don’t care if they win or not, they just want to have fun. Their brains are always relaxed when gambling, so they will be able to think well. There are just lots of reasons why rich people win mostly in gambling and poor people lose more.

Their salaries are mediocre, work is uncertain and even covering family needs is still difficult but when they make money from odd jobs, they always play gambling even though it is with small money, meaning that poor people are more likely to try their luck in gambling.
Most youth in my own community take gambling as a source of income because they are not being paid well for their jobs and can’t take care of their families, just like it’s happening at your side, and some are just jobless. But I noticed people gambling in my community, most of them are always losing money instead of winning. The little amount paid from the job they are doing, which is supposed to be used on other things, is always wasted on gambling. So it’s just better they look for other ways to earn money instead of gambling for survival.

Sometimes, before they win, the money they will have lost will even be more than the amount they have won, so what’s the use? Some will have lost like five bets before winning one.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of this Facebook Scam! on: June 08, 2024, 09:50:34 PM
New scammer  Grin

Face also not real I also found most of the people in social median special of facebook who increase their page and profile with same fake like and followers by bot and try to scamming with people.
What I learned, and it’s always helped me, is that you shouldn’t trust anyone you see on social media. Most of the accounts that you see and think belong to influencers or celebrities are fake, the profile picture of the account won’t match the real person operating the account. So when you receive any message on your social media and the message is from someone you don’t know, you have to be very careful when responding, they might just want to scam you.

Also, if you receive a message from an influencer person on social media seeking help, just know that the account might be compromised. When you are on social media, don’t trust anything you see.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you pay for car repairs with Bitcoin? Why not :) on: June 08, 2024, 09:26:52 PM
If I had a lot of bitcoins, I think it would be fine, but I only have a few bitcoins at the moment, so it's not practical in these times in my situation because we are currently in a bull run and also facing OP. Maybe that's okay if we're in a bear market.
Even if it was in the bear market, I am sure your excuse will be that you want to hold the little bitcoin you have ahead of the bull run. Seriously, the bull run shouldn’t stop you from spending your bitcoin if you really want to spend it. I am not holding much bitcoin either, but if I have the opportunity to make payments with the bitcoin that I have, then I will do it. I have been wanting to make purchases with bitcoin, but I haven’t seen any store that accept bitcoin in my country. Everyone is just scared because of the ban the central bank places on accounts with crypto transaction histories, so everyone is just scared because they don’t want anything that will affect their business.

Maybe there are some businesses accepting bitcoin in my country, but I don’t know about them, and I am sure they will be doing that secretly. But the time will come when nobody will be scared to announce publicly that they are accepting bitcoin as a payment method in my country.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is a fun activity but it has some potential to be profitable sometimes on: June 08, 2024, 08:50:53 PM
I've made some profitable bets especially in sportsbook but I won't consider those much profitable because the bets I have placed were of low value and that's why the earned profit was also low. Most of the profits were with very low odds and that's why I just ignore those profits and enjoy the fun part of gambling.
I always gamble with just a little amount of money just to have fun whenever I am bored, or whenever am stressed just to calm myself down, so I can’t just imagine gambling with a big amount of money, which I know can be used for other things. I do gamble with just a little amount, which I know won’t really have any effect on me if am gambling, so even when I am winning, I don’t really win a big amount of money from gambling since the amount I gamble with is low and the risk I take is always low, so my win is always low. I can’t really say I have won any big amount of money from gambling before
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Religious leader barred from casinos because of big wins. on: June 08, 2024, 08:28:05 PM
Archbishop Emmanuel Mutumwa, who is the leader of Johanne Masowe eChishanu Apostolic Sect has been banned from betting in local casinos because of excess wins. His current win was about US$30,000 and these casino operators fear that they might go bankrupt if he continues gambling with them.
Any casino that can ban their customers just because they are winning frequently, I will say the casino shouldn’t be trusted. If the customer is losing frequently, will they ban the account? If they can’t ban accounts because they are losing too much, then they shouldn’t ban account because they are winning. If casinos are banning accounts if their customers lose so much money and keep on gambling, then I will say gambling addiction won’t really be rampant. Casinos just want their customers to lose, because that’s the only way they can benefit. If customers are winning, then casinos are losing.

Do you think a religious leader should be involved in gambling? Do also accept his reason for engaging in gambling?  Are these casinos right to ban him from gambling?
I know most religions are against gambling, but I don’t really see anything wrong with gambling, and the religion leader was even using the money won from gambling for things reasonable. Seriously,  I will encourage the religious leader to keep on gambling, and he should keep on supporting people.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As newbies we should know the significant risk in trading on: June 07, 2024, 09:34:12 PM
One approach I adopted as a newbie is to stay away from trading at all means because i already know that the risk in trading is equivalent to the risk in gambling, and most of those that ever make profits from trading also recorded alot of loses that could possibly outweigh the profits amount.
I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to discourage newbies from trading. All the professional traders you see today started as beginners, so discouraging newbies doesn’t sound well to me. If I see any newbie that wants to go into trading, all I do tell them is that they should make sure they acquire proper knowledge about trading before going into it because they can easily lose money, don’t just start trading without learning about it, and make sure you start trading with just a little amount that you know you can afford to lose, because as a beginner, you are likely going to be losing the first money you deposit to trade with, just make sure it should be a small amount, so when you keep on understanding it, then you will keep on increasing the amount you trade with.
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Should there be a limit to investing in your children? on: June 07, 2024, 09:08:44 PM
There is a current trend in my country where parents are doing everything financially possible to give their children the best education. Some parents have gone to the extent of selling properties or taking loans to send their children to some of the best schools in and outside the country. I have spoken with some of them, and the reason they give is that this child will get good jobs and take care of them in the future.
If you are spending on your children, then you are investing in them ahead of their own future and your own future. But some children are not really responsible, so don’t think because you sponsor them to school, they will end up doing everything for you when you are old. The best thing to do as a parent is to have a retirement plan. Make sure you plan yourself in a way that you will still be earning even after retirement. As a parent, just spend on your children and keep it in mind that you want them to succeed in life. Don’t really expect anything serious from them in return. Seriously, it’s better we properly train our children, and we should give them a sound education. Even if they can’t get a government job, they will be able to establish themselves.

Many of these students who attended prestigious schools end up becoming unemployed and are still depending on their parents to survive.
Going to school doesn’t guarantee a government job. That’s why I do recommend to people to always learn skills while they are in school. In case, after graduating, they can’t get a job, they will be able to start something.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: With is the minimum post require to earn a merit on: June 07, 2024, 08:40:27 PM
I have been into the system for some months now and I have made over twenty posts but no simply merit has been given to me or earn by me and this make me to be surprise on how these merit are generated, given or earned.
If you make any post that any forum member finds useful to them, then they are going to merit you. The number of posts that you make or the months that you have spent on the forum won’t earn you any merit, it’s your post quality that matters. You can create an account today with just one post, and you are going to receive merit. If you are making posts and no one is meriting them, then you will have to work on your post quality. Also, your post might be useful to someone, and the person might not have smerit to give out.

I just checked your post history, and I see that most of your posts are on the local board and in off-topic. People don’t really find posts in off-topic useful, so most people don’t visit the section.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Keeping your assets safe in the crypto space.. on: June 06, 2024, 09:45:15 PM
Still, I guess we can only just remain careful to avoid falling victim to scammers after all there isn’t much that can be done. What have you guys been doing to keep your assets safe though? Drop some comments, let's learn.
Firstly, don’t leave your coin on exchange, no matter how reputable the exchange is, anything can happen to it, and if your coin is there, you might be losing it, so it’s better you always leave your coin in a non custodial wallet.

Second, don’t trust anyone you meet, either online or offline. Make sure nobody has access to your private key. If anyone has access to your private key, then they can steal your coin without you even knowing, so don’t trust anyone with your private key.

Thirdly, you have to be very careful with things you download online, some might be fake, and as soon as you input your details, scammers will be able to access your coins. So when downloading any application, make sure you are getting the link to the application from the official website.

Fourth, if you receive any links from random people, make sure you stay away from them and never click on them.
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is getting addicted to gambling right or wrong? on: June 06, 2024, 09:26:02 PM
Gambling addiction is process in which an individual cannot control their urge in gambling even when they tend to lose. They are willing to sacrifice their most valuable assets with the hope of winning. A story was told of a young man in my community who used his only son for gambling because he was so addicted that he can't do without gambling in a day.
What did you mean by a gambler using his only son to gamble? I am just imagining how it happened. Seriously,  I will like you to explain better because I don’t understand what you mean completely. Did he sell his son, or did he drop his son? If he loses, then he won’t be going home with his son, and if he wins, he will be going home with his son. Seriously, I am just confused because this is my first time hearing something like this. How will a gambler gamble with his son?

he can do anything when it comes to gambling. I also know people who are wealthy today through gambling. So, is it wrong to be too addicted to gambling? how can it be control or how can one manage gambling?
I know gamblers do crazy things because they want to gamble, but I don’t know how the particular gambler you are talking about used his son. It’s completely wrong to be addicted to gambling. Just because you see a few people getting rich through gambling doesn’t mean you should also get yourself addicted to gambling. And the people you said got rich through gambling might not be addicted to gambling. You said a father gambled with his son, does that make any sense? Then you should know that gambling addiction is not good.
