1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin trading in Africa is on the rise even as halving took place on: May 12, 2020, 04:45:56 PM
This article (https://www.ledgerafrica.com/bitcoin-halving-fever-africa-intensifies-calls-active-role-grows/) states that African's are more traders and speculators than creators. Interesting point of view. Should Africans be doing more in the cryptocurrency industry? Like building their own blockchain networks?

I don't think you can market masternodes as an owner because they are just computer nodes that people run to keep a blockchain functioning. But the founders of the blockchain network can advertise masternodes so that they can get more people running masternodes on their network. Remember, the more masternodes the better.
3  Other / Off-topic / Can blockchain combat climate change? on: July 23, 2019, 04:19:28 PM
I came across this article that a group of researchers have identified blockchain as a solution to climate change crisis Cheesy. It is being suggested that blockchain technology can help combat climate change by enabling decentralization, democratization and  decarbonization of energy. That using smart contracts it is possible to automatically trace and mitigate those factors that contribute to climate change. This article explains it in more details https://www.ledgerafrica.com/report-proposes-blockchain-deployment-energy-combat-climate-change/ .

Personally I think its far-fetched but possible if there's political will. What do you think?
