Solid. Very profound white paper. I'm in.

I don't care whether they are scam or not, but the idea is very strange to say the least. Counterparty basically wants to be where the money is, that is on top of Bitcoin blockchain. Their architecture is built on that. They have to fight limitations of Bticoin etc. On the other hand Viacoin launches a new coin to build counterparty on top. This is just the opposite. And really doesn't make much sense IMHO.

Basically if they don't announce an IPO cap Etherium is pretty much doomed.

Actually I fear that SEC will watch this IRRESPECTIVE of the way it ends. The sheer crowddsale volume will draw a lot of attention. I'm not really sure that you are doing the right thing.

Guys you really have to deliver. If you don't you may kill crypto. Regulators will be all over this if it fails.

It would be very cool to see a working prototype of any of storage coins. Would be more than happy to give them my BTC then. Don't really want to accuse anyone of anything, developers might have the best intentions, it just can happen that the idea is technically too hard to realize.

If you watch altcoins scene with some level of attention you probably have noticed that the latest fad is "anonymity". Every developer is trying to add some anonymous transaction functionality to his project, with varying degrees of success. Actually the solutions are pretty sophisticated, it's definitely not "country coins" marketing trick, it does provide some value. The question here is do you really need anonymous transactions that much?
In my opinion 99% of crypto users could care less about mixing their coins. Bitcoin transactions are very much anonymous now, at least way more anonymous than traditional e-currencies. It is more than sufficient for most users. Actually I can't think of any other use of anonymous transactions other than some shady dealings and wheelings (but they probably go mostly through Bitcoin anyway)
Probably you shouldn't bet on the long term success of coins where the only distinctive feature is anonymity (DRC etc.) The are having their day now, but their future will probably be rather bleak, as the present of county coins.
Am I missing something here? Do you need anonymity? Do you use it?

Bitcoin is technology, and technology always evolves. No way to avoid new alts, this is progress.

People should understand that from the Russian perspective Putin did not have much choice. Basically Russia lost the control over Ukraine, due to a inconsistent policy towards it. In a way Russian foreign policy is quite inefficient in maintaining economical or political control over the countries which are of interest to it, the way USA does it.
Regarding Ukraine it was clear with strange gas policy (basically there were some serious stealing through some middle-men companies, see Gunvor etc., instead of using gas prices as the way to control Ukrainian political landscape).
So when Russia basically fucked up with Maidan events Putin just couldn't let is slide and had to move, and move fast. Which proves him to be a great tactitian, but a poor strategist.
But in a way that was the smartest move he made during all his years in power. Basically he solved all inner political problems with it, and bolstered his international image of the bad mofo.

You're taking out of the picture the central bank role in regulating the price of the currency, that is the existence of the central authority with market-maker capacity. But this is the most prominent distinction between fiat and crypto. In a way traditional macroeconomics money theory cannot be directly applicable to cryptos
