1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The promise of Virtual currencies on: October 07, 2019, 09:30:35 PM
The way I see it, consumers don't like to carry cash so much these days, more so pay an ATM withdrawal fee to access their own money. Plastic cards that offer benefits and incentives are achieving high adoption rates and Mobile payments are just a cool new way to pay.

Bitcoin needs to have a way to seamlessly integrate into the existing financial ecosystem so that people can easily use it and have a solid reason to spend their bitcoin rather than hold on to it.
2  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would you buy/sell Bitcoin over Lightning at a coffee shop? on: September 26, 2019, 11:00:22 PM
I like the idea of walking into a grocery store and being able to buy/sell bitcoin. Bitcoin ATM's are hard to find and charge ridiculous fees in the name of maintenance costs.
I think that if a store accepted bitcoin for cash and vice versa it would also make the exchange transaction private and definitely more convenient than using an online exchange service.

However, I don't seem to really use cash too often these days, so I would rather just sell the grocery store some bitcoin in exchange for some groceries   Grin
3  Bitcoin / Project Development / Spend bitcoin and auto re-invest based on DCA/hash rate on: September 26, 2019, 10:48:13 PM
I'm looking for a service where I can spend my bitcoin in the real world possibly instantly over lightning without me having to deposit my crypto on a centralized service and at the same time as soon as I spend some bitcoin, I can trigger a re-investment strategy connected to my bank account.

For example: If I spend 0.1 BTC (@10000 USD/BTC) and my bank account is connected to this service, it would automatically pull eg: 100 USD from my account and buy btc every week for 10 weeks or buy btc everytime the hash rate drops.

I think this could be quite valuable to increase adoption and encourage hodlers to begin spending and thereby drive merchant adoption.

What are your thoughts? Any recommendations?

I believe that if it were easier to spend crypto today, more people would be doing it. A bitcoin owner who wants to spend their crypto today must look for a merchant who accepts bitcoin or purchase a gift card equivalent to buy something.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin, Lightning -> Bitcoin for the legal cannabis industry in the US? on: July 25, 2019, 11:56:30 PM
Recently noticed this huge problem at dispensaries across California, being unable to pay conveniently at these stores.

Given that lightning enables fast, cheap micro-transactions, would you as a bitcoin holder be willing to spend your bitcoin to purchase cannabis at a dispensary, assuming that there's a super simple, intuitive way of tapping and paying with lightning as easy as your debit card?

Interested in knowing the different possible ways that bitcoin can actually be used for real life situations apart from HODL-ing.

Let's assume that for every bit of bitcoin that you spend at a shop, your wallet is refilled with an equivalent amount of BTC, so you can continue to HODL, but at the same time make pseudonymous micro transactions.
