Hi, OP here. Our system is designed so that you don't have to trust us, or our writers. To fulfil our primary objective of converting news articles into data we uses multiple verification layers, handled by random people across the network, who each conduct tasks to check the work of others. This ensures that the data that is extracted form news articles matches the source reporting, and is also free of bias. We have been doing much of this work manually so far, and are working on the smart contracts now.

Storing that data -- which ultimately will become the word's largest news archive -- on the blockchain means that it cannot be tampered with, is difficult to take down, and can be used as an open news data marketplace to build trusted news applications. I'm happy to discuss further here. For more info see https://newsblocks.io/news-is-data/

4  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Newslines, the 'Wikipedia of News', offers Bitcoin rewards for writers on: May 05, 2014, 04:33:27 PM
I forgot to mention that I am particularly interested in making Newslines for Bitcoin, Bitcoin-related businesses, and the people of Bitcoin.

Satoshi Nakamoto (and Dorian Nakamoto), Charlie Shrem, Andreas M. Antonopoulos, Barry Silbert etc

If you or your company has been in the news you are also welcome to create your own newsline on the site (and get paid $1 post in BTC to do so!).
5  Bitcoin / Project Development / Newslines, the 'Wikipedia of News', offers Bitcoin rewards for writers on: May 05, 2014, 04:30:35 AM
Newslines, the "Wikipedia of News," is expanding our Rewards program. Earn Bitcoin creating news timelines ('newslines") about any topic. Some examples:

Mt Gox - Winklevoss Twins - BitAngels - Aaron Swartz - Twinkie

We pay $1 in BTC equivalent for each approved post that makes up a newsline. Each post is 30-100 words, must follow our style guide, and must to link to an original news article. Feel free to make as many newsline posts as you can. Invite your friends to work on newslines with you.

Newslines is intended for supplementary income, while you are between projects, or just a fun way to make some side money. Right now we pay out every 20 posts, but will soon change to paying out as soon as each posts is approved.

We are looking for at least 100 people to participate. Native English speakers only please.

6  Economy / Service Discussion / Mt Gox rise and fall timeline on: March 07, 2014, 04:20:21 PM
Hi, I made this timeline of the rise and fall of Mt Gox. Maybe a useful reference for those who lost their funds, or for anyone interested in Mr Karpeles (who I interviewed last year). If you see anything missing let me know, or feel free to add your own events.
