1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC back to All time high ..did you buy ? on: February 08, 2021, 12:01:36 AM
This morning BTC has returned to it's ATH of Jan 8,2020.

Since it's fall ,there has been speculation here as to where it would go next .

Many were /are convinced they knew where it was heading .

How about you ?   DID YOU BUY, SELL, OR HOLD ?
And now what are your plans ?

I bought at $40k shortly after new years, but I'm not worried at all, I know my investment will pay off, and in a few years looking back at bitcoin at $40k will look like a steal. Just like we currently look at btc at $3k.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So lets talk honest now about btc on: February 08, 2021, 12:00:29 AM
So all this decentralised blHh blahh is nice
Be your own bank blah blah
But thats not a point lets skip the bs and be honest

How does this thing can make me rich ?
Results what must come out of this are:
At least. 100 mil dollars. Coz life is expensive

So what ways ? How thos thing can make the big $$$$
Thats why im here im hhere for big cash !

Don't get in, I'd rather not have someone like you in the movement. It's not bullshit, being your own bank, some of us really believe it. 100 million is not necessary to live, and you don't just buy and then wait a couple years, maxi millionary, those days might be far behind. However, it doesn't mean you can't make some money while saving at the same time. I don't think the angle you're taking is fruitful, that's all.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How often are people really hacked out of their BTC? on: February 07, 2021, 11:58:12 PM
Most hacked bitcoiner cause of using malware/phishing wallet/software/website, some of them while using electrum and got phished by installing from malicious server the prompts as a notification. While some of them while using exchanges that were hacked.

The lesson is always verify the source/signature of every wallet you want to install on your device. And don't ever put your bitcoin on exchanges for a very long time or as an alternative for wallet.

This guy gets it, most of it happens on windows computers, I know of a guy who lost his on a slightly different way, he had a keylogger on his pc, poor dude was just importing his btc wallet, a few days after he fixes his pc's "slow downs" it was already too late, he lost 3 btc. This was about a month ago, so yeah, BE CAREFUL!
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was left behind with btc market. on: February 07, 2021, 11:56:25 PM
Don't worry, we're still VERY early, the regular peple don't have an IDEA how bitcoin will change current transnational banking and how crypto will lower and ease transaction costs across the board. The fact that you know of the potential of Bitcoin shows that you're way ahead in the game, just stock up what you can and sell what you need if necessary, we're in this ride together.
5  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I need help with my problem HitBtc my ticket 603788 on: February 07, 2021, 11:36:06 PM
I get the feeling you might be some sort of PEP or have a criminal record related to finance in your country of origin, it's incredibly suspicious the amount of thorough information they asked you, in my experience it was much MUCH simpler than that and I can withdraw the totality of my funds at any time (I actually did early in January - no issue at all)

So, IDK, I feel you're conveniently leaving out some info, maybe its the paranoid in me talking but, that's just my thoughts.
6  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Exchange descentralizado en RSK, on: December 05, 2020, 01:04:36 AM
My Spanish is a bit rusty so sorry for any mistakes.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People still don't know about Bitcoin on: December 05, 2020, 12:30:35 AM
There are many people who still don't know about bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. I don't know about others I am talking about my country and about my society. Whenever I ask from people about or talk about the Bitcoin. They ask what is this?

How much there is who face this problem?

This happens everywhere, my personal group of friends, they all know about BTC because I have been in this for a few years now so they ask me whenever they have questions, but only ONE has actually invested in it (via some bank site in europe, Revolution? Revoluts? I don't remember), but hey, that's something. I advised him to get a dedicated wallet on his phone or on his PC but he's "too smart for that".

People are not taking BTC seriously, look at all the recent institutional money that has poured into BTC; the $50m in BTC purchase I saw just t oday by square speaks VOLUMES of what's coming ahead.

Dude they're just asking you for KYC, I had a similar issue, but I'm from the US so when I got requested KYC (hadn't traded), they allowed me to withdraw but not trade. It's not some boogeyman, just send KYC and you'll get your money. If you need help open a support ticket.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chances of BTC surpassing the value of Fiat Money on: December 05, 2020, 12:22:12 AM
Sorry if the topic sounds logically flawed I didn't dig much deeper into the financial fantasies of such.

I'm wondering what if one day Bitcoin goes so high up in value that it causes somewhat a fiat crisis? I mean imagine, you've Bitcoins but there isn't much cash available in the market to buy your BTC, or simply put people can't afford it? Will bitcoin be of any value then?

WOuldn't this fall under price speculation? Anyway, I don't know, the global FIAT market cap is far too high, would it be nice? Yes, but also I wouldn't bet on it. Though I do think that current BTC is far undervalued, I honestly have no idea how far up it'll go, and anyone telling you otherwise might not "know" for sure, and just believes it'll go that far up.

But again, it would be pretty awesome.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pizza Hut accepts bitcoin on: December 05, 2020, 12:19:37 AM
A US based pizza chain has started accepting crypto currency as a payment method across South American nations. Burger king and Church's chicken already accepting crypto currency as a payment.

"Pizza hut nowadays cannot be detached from these technological advances and all those incorporating new approaches for daily necessities," said Richard Elkhouri, general director for venezuelan operations of pizza chain.

More than 20,000 shops around South America have been accepting crypto

So, What you guys think the government will do if people started using crypto for buying selling on a large scale as the control of system of monetary fund is going out of the hands of government.

IN THE US? I wish they'd accept it earlier, I'm not selling my btc anytime soon lol.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin transaction fees be too high in the future? on: October 11, 2020, 10:55:51 PM
This is the chart of Bitcoin's Avg. Transaction fee: https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin-transactionfees.html

Right now the median fee is about $2. After lots of halvings the reward won't be enough to satisfy the miners. I guess that after a decade, bitcoin will be more widespread, as a result, more transactions will occur every second. Won't this increase the median fee? If it does, bitcoin will start being a not-so medium of exchange. Imagine paying $5 for a transaction. Even paypal doesn't charge that much.

When price go up enough so that the fee is problematic, well, price has gone up, so in general people transact less amounts, less bytes per transaction = less perceived fees. Say we reach a point where 1 satoshi = 1 USD, a current transaction cost would be in the thousands of USD! But a regular transaction of around 1000 satoshis, costing some 2 or 3 satoshis wouldn't be too out of the ordinary.

The chain will evolve, some miners will move on, but this is my perception of how fees will stabilize in the future, adoption is going to grow so price will follow as well. (the above is NOT a price estimation, it's just an example)
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM installed at Elon Musk’s Tesla Gigafactory on: October 11, 2020, 10:52:21 PM
Definitely, Elon knows about the Bitcoin ATM installation in his place but to what extent he is into crypto, we have no idea.
If nothing else, just another news that media can talk about and make a big deal out of it.
I'm ok with that as it will gain curiosity among noncrypto users.  Tongue

Yeah, as long as it gathers regular media attention it's a plus for crypto. Not just bitcoin!
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Say btc is Not ponzi but its look like ponzi on: October 11, 2020, 10:51:21 PM
How anyone who Say Can proof Bitcoin is not ponzi?

There is More proof and evidence that it is ponzi.

I Don't mind If its ponzi but i Don't want to exit too late but not too early so When is best time to exit?

Simple, it's not. Ponzi's are by definition run by a single entity. Bitcoin isn't. In my opinion it is not
14  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donald Trump signs executive orders banning TikTok and WeChat on: August 20, 2020, 11:22:05 PM
And so the 'war' continues with China, as President Trumps signs executive orders banning Tiktok and WeChat.

Quote
United States President Donald Trump has signed two executive orders addressing what he has labelled as the threat posed by apps such as TikTok and WeChat.

The president is calling the pair of Chinese apps a "national emergency" with respect to the information and communications technology and services supply chain.

According to the first order that will take effect in 45 days, any transaction with TikTok's owner, ByteDance Ltd, or its subsidiaries, will be prohibited. The second order similarly prohibits any transaction that is related to WeChat by any person, or with respect to any property, subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, with Tencent Holdings.

The second order says that like TikTok, WeChat automatically captures vast swaths of information from its users, similarly noting again the ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

"WeChat, like TikTok, also reportedly censors content that the Chinese Communist Party deems politically sensitive and may also be used for disinformation campaigns that benefit the Chinese Communist Party," it adds.

"The United States must take aggressive action against the owner of WeChat to protect our national security."

https://www.zdnet.com/article/donald-trump-signs-executive-orders-banning-tiktok-and-wechat/

Lately we have some topics about this one and seems the community is divided. And it seems that Trump really take this "serious" threat from China. Let's see how Microsoft will react, they supposedly shows intention on buying TikTok.

I had thought this was just for tiktok, didn't know wechat was included, well, anyway it's nothing a VPN can't solve. I know many US businesses (including crypto businesses) use WeChat to contact chinese users. Let's see how they implement it in the end

I don't get why govs don't  put 99.9% income tax on this f...kers ...?

There is one thing to be rich ...and another thing to be a rich asshole ...

Well, 99% taxes on people so rich doesn't seem to make sense, but I do agree that at least a 50% should be applied.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin so unstable? on: August 20, 2020, 11:13:27 PM
Gold is another store of value, but not that unstable. It reached 2000$ recently and was above 1000$ for many years. Those who invested in gold back in 1900 would have made a great choice since it costed only 20$ back then if I'm not wrong. (Although dollar was way more strong than now)

Bitcoin can lose 500$ within one night. Gold can't. Why that?

It's too new, the more people adopt it the more stable it becomes. We're still in the early adopters stage
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin maximalists are doing more harm to the crypto space than good ? on: August 20, 2020, 11:12:11 PM
Bitcoin 'Maximalist' HODLer, confirmed!  Cheesy

*Just joking*  Smiley

After more than a year of being called that, I honestly still don't know if I should take it as a compliment or an insult. Mostly just me scratching my head in confusion. Cheesy Cheesy

Don't pay attention to the way people call you, I'm a holder, does that make me a maximalist? Idk, idc, I'm just doing my thing
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in a good shape? on: August 20, 2020, 11:11:19 PM
Guys I haven't been here for a while and I'm wondering if Bitcoin is in a better shape than last time I checked 2 years ago.

Thanks

Absolutely. Two years ago there was a looming dread still from people who had bought at 16k+, we're in a bull market now!
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cordano (ADA) move to the new address on: August 20, 2020, 10:58:23 PM

Shelly upgrade is already finished on 29th July so don't much price movement now (ADA is a long term project). Most of the big-name exchanges have already implemented the changes don't know what's taking Atomic wallet so long to finish

Thank you, it seems not only the Atomic wallet has not finished the upgrade yet, there is also a HitBtc exchange I tried to get the ADA address from there to do the transfer but it gave me a message that it is not currently available due to maintenance.
Now my coins are stuck in the wallet and I cannot convert to another Coin or send to another exchange, I hope the wait is not long.

Yeah, if you have them on your trading wallet you can trade it out to another coin that isn't restricted, but if you have it on your storage wallet you do have to wait a bit until they re enable it.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we rely on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency? on: July 28, 2020, 10:26:21 PM
People have given up their day jobs and has moved full-time into cryptocurrency related earnings and career. These are people with high investment as well as after learning about the market. A common man too can make something out of cryptocurrency, but in between should not look for big profits ending into a big loss. Most of them relying on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies keep on practicing trading which is the base where the money flow of cryptocurrencies were found.

Saying that relying on bitcoin isn't possible is not a informed sentence (not about you, but about OP), basically, as you do say, many people have moved full time into cryptocurrency related careers, and that speaks volumes of the potential cryptocurrency brings into the table. Not everyone in the area trades either, I know a fair share of people who don't trade for example but earn in bitcoin exclusively for example.
