I'm sure this has been asked but I'm too ADD to go through backpage after backpage.... Is there a mining calculator or an estimated Coins per drive size/space?
I happened upon (10) 1Tb drives so I was looking to calculate some profitabity. Im guessing it's not worth mining with only a small drive (160Gb).. because I have about 30 of these laying about.
Lastly which OS has better results, Linux or Windows?
https://bchain.info/BURST/tools/calculatorThanks!

Sorry for the current price drop.... I just bought some more Vert and naturally this results in an instant price drop. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

what happens at last block?

Just wondering what an accidental "fork" looks like. Because I've never seen this before - it's from gpu.dedicatedpool.com
Round Shares Submitted shares since last found block (ie. round shares) Est. Shares 4,486 (done: 8696.66%) I've seen 400%, 500% but never 8,000% +

Vertcoin is already on a "Major" Exchange... Called Cryptsy. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) I for one am mostly in Vertcoin, but I continue to cast my votes on Mintpal for GPU.

...asic only helps coins. gives them more hash power, secures the network, and overall generates more profit... Are you nuts? If ASICs become the way of mining, then GPUs are out, and what is the point of GPUC??? Sure, they do help secure the network, but they make mining SEVERELY less profitable. Do you not understand what's happened to Bitcoin due to ASICs? What happened? It became far more secure. Hashpower = network security. They don't make it less profitable.. in fact you're so far off on your logic it's mind blowing. If that were the case then bitcoin would be worth less than a dogecoin. The most profitable long term altcoins are Scrypt, but it's not their algo which makes them profitable. The most valuable and sustainable cryptocurrency will be the one consumers use worldwide, and that may not even be Bitcoin in a few years.. who knows. Aside from that, no cryptocurrency has inherent value, and only a few of them have somewhat tangible value. ScryptN (or ANY algo) coin value shouldn't be evaluated from the first 6 months.. not even the first year honestly. Vertcoin's hash and value is dying, just like many others.. why..? Nothing tangible. Why mine it? No consumer use. GPUC is following the same path right now. Network hash has died off severely. Besides that, to maintain a network you need ongoing hashrate. Ongoing hashrate = more power usage. Without ASIC you limit your hashrate and increase security risks. Right now the least efficient Scrypt ASIC systems are pushing 500kh at just a few watts, and I can get them for the same price as 270 cards. Think about that for a minute. Would you rather be mining GPUC at 500kh at say 150watts, or 5 watts? Because the latter would be giving you lower overhead and hence a more valuable turnover. Like I said before.. hardly anyone in this thread understands the problem with GPUC, much less long term coin design and sustainability. Maybe 5 people. http://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/hashrate-vtc.html not sure how accurate that site is, but maybe look at this. http://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/price-vtc.html....to which I reply http://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/price-btc-vtc.html (meant to use that)

@vesperwillow stated that switching the algo to -n would hurt the coin. one of the main reasons for this is because asic only helps coins. gives them more hash power, secures the network, and overall generates more profit. the only downside of this is that some people dont understand that fact and want to move over to something only gpus can do. but we see where that has gotten us or any other currently asic restraint coin.
Vertcoin seems to be holding its own ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif)

How about adding Prepaid Visa Gift Cards (Debit cards) into the store. They can be personalized / branded with the GPU logo. Even if it is a break even Zero profit (except for the increased value of the coin) it is something that can be used by everyone, shipped everywhere (low postage) - so those in other countries using / mining this coin aren't left out because of big $$$ to have a GPU shipped across the ocean.
I will post my address in the near future so you can tip the hell out of me when this idea is implemented.

What exactly does a HardFork do? Does it force a wallet change? Does it make coins already mined worthless? If someone could explain, I'd appreciate it.

I just Mintpal voted and will continue as allowed.
On another note. If you didn't know anything about this coin and where perusing coins on the market and saw the "sell orders" vs. "buy orders" for GPU on CryptoRush... the first impression one gets is "why are there so many coins for sale vs. buy - almost a 4 to 1 sell vs. buy? The first impression is "if this is such a great coin, shouldn't it be the reverse - more buyers than sellers?"
My point would be this, if you have coin's for sale right now listed at an unrealistic value above current market - you might want to pull those orders and reduce the huge "for sale sign" that is blinking in the selling column (it's making this coins market look like the crazies at the "planet closest to the earth coin" or that "bamboo eating bear" coin - Ridiculous supply when there's little buy.

Careful not to "fat finger" on CryptoRush! In case anyone was wondering what's with the dip(low sell point) to .00000001 at 19:00 o'clock that was me selling (apparently giving away) 8,000 coins at that price ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) - I like the warning that Cryptsy gives when you are underselling. Thankfully it was 8,000 and not 800,000. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Has this coin been pushed to be put on Cryptsy?

How is this different than mining any other alt coin, trading for BTC and then buying your GPUs from someone such as Tiger Direct? Last I checked they have RAM, Mother Boards, PSU's, complete rigs.... Etc.
Not being trying to be a "Debbie Downer" here - especially when I am currently mining this coin, but..... am I missing something?

is there a calculator for this coin?

Am I missing something about this coin? The difficulty has been dropping over the past few hours ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Just wanted to know if there was a reason.... Miners leaving would be my guess. The pool I'm on has been dropping miners daily. Is there a reason why they are leaving? Profitability; lack of exchanges...? I just started looking into this coin and wanted to try it for a while if it's worth it. - Thanks
