I'm still waiting on my batch 1 miners.  I've got 20 of them stuck in China customs since the 16th.  They say they keep trying to contact Bitmain.  I sent a message to Bitmain almost a week ago.  No response.
2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: July 25, 2014, 05:47:54 AM
I think item is not clear about something as manufacture, origins, specifications, invoice...
Customs do not accept to export/import it.
If it will be exported from china, i think when it go to your country, it will have same problems with customs in your country

Odd...  I would think Bitmain has sent enough of these to not make that mistake.  Who knows though.  I should probably contact them.  :-/

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Has anyone had customs take this long before?  If I had an option to cancel this, I would.  It's going to be two weeks without mining by the time this gets here:

Anyone else still waiting for customs?  All of my S3s have been stuck there for almost 7 days now.    :-/   I'm losing all kinds of BTC while waiting.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: May 27, 2014, 01:36:23 AM
So it looks like I'm going to have to start getting rid of some of my ASICs, underclock my FrankenJups even more or look for datacenter hosting... unless someone has some other helpful tips that don't involve me adding more electrical service to my house.

Maybe you know this already, but remember that the electrical load is being spread between two conductors to the home.  If you manage to put 100 amps on one conductor, the breaker will trip even if the other conductor only has 50.  You've got quite a bit there (especially the AC), but you may be able to rearrange things so that the breaker doesn't trip (move some of the miners to a different circuit either by plugging them in somewhere else or swapping a breaker or two in the panel so that the load is on the other conductor).  If you've got a clamp meter, it'd be handy.

Got my refund today for 3 Neptunes (in BTC)
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 10, 2014, 08:33:01 AM
Refund in USD received for my Batch 2 Neptune order.

Kinda bummed I went the refund route (wanted the miner), but I couldn't rationalize keeping that pre-order any longer with the landscape changing so quickly, recently :\

Same.  I requested a refund on my CA batch 1 Neptunes.  Mine was a very early order, but I still can't justify keeping the order vs a refund at this point.
8  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is this noise level for the Antminer S1 normal? on: March 31, 2014, 11:58:18 PM
Something is either wrong with the fan controller or the RPM wire is loose (so it's defaulting to full speed).  The S1's are almost dead quiet when they're cold, but the fan will ramp up a little as they warm up.
9  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] V1 ASICMINER Blades 0.076 BTC each on: March 26, 2014, 04:42:26 PM
The original buyer responded last night and all blades have been paid for.  Thanks for looking.
10  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] V1 ASICMINER Blades 0.076 BTC each on: March 26, 2014, 12:53:05 AM
The buyer hasn't been responding to PMs since the initial offer to buy the blades.

They're up for grabs by anyone else again, and the price has been lowered to 0.076 BTC each.
11  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] V1 ASICMINER Blades 0.08 BTC each on: March 24, 2014, 08:45:34 PM
I see there are a couple other people on the thread who are interested ... I am interested in closing the entire deal here and taking them all off your hands.

My current farm makes over .08 BTC per day and I have been stacking coins.

You should respond to my message and we should make a deal.

I am not poor so I wont low ball you lol
You said in your PM that you were interested in buying just one, and then eventually maybe buying more.

Again, I've got a possible buyer for all of them.  I'll give him a little time to respond/pay and then I'll entertain other offers for smaller orders.

Pretty sure those will not mine alt coins.

SHA256 only.
There are quite a few SHA256 alt coins.  Perhaps you missed out on the Mazacoin/Takeicoin madness?  Tongue
12  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] V1 ASICMINER Blades 0.08 BTC each on: March 24, 2014, 07:21:07 PM
Shit, you would have been rich if you held onto your BTC lol.
Tell me about it.  :-/

im sure he didwell if he paid that much hw git em first
Not even close.  Losing more than half of my money isn't doing very well at all, and if it's measured in USD instead, I meant "losing more than 85 percent of my money".  The opportunity cost on the blades was brutal.
13  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] V1 ASICMINER Blades 0.08 BTC each on: March 24, 2014, 07:19:12 PM
hello .....
Hi.  Sorry, I've disregarded a lot of PMs that asked me for unreasonable deals and free shipping (which likely costs half of the price of a blade or more for just a single item).  I only have so much time to respond to PMs, so I can only take serious offers seriously.

I have an offer to buy the whole lot and am waiting on a response.  I'd much rather sell in bulk than to 50+ buyers, so we'll see if the deal goes through and I'll update the thread.
14  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] V1 ASICMINER Blades 0.08 BTC each on: March 20, 2014, 10:53:08 PM
culd i get 2 for .135 ;Dpretty please  Grin
I'll work out a volume discount if someone buys in volume.  2 doesn't exactly qualify for 15 percent off.  Smiley  Sorry.

How much is shipping? Would you sell for 0.09 each INCLUDING shipping?
Shipping is whatever it costs to get from Idaho to your location.  I'm betting that's a bit more than 0.01 BTC.
15  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] V1 ASICMINER Blades 0.076 BTC each on: March 20, 2014, 03:18:41 PM
Well, I was one of the insane people who bought blades at BTC40+ BTC when they came out.  Now yours for BTC0.076 each + shipping.  lol.  I know I can do better on eBay, but I'd much rather not have to deal with that mess.

These are still profitable for me to run, but I need to free up space for other equipment (I'm out of power).  These blades have been running rock solid for almost a year at 13GH each.  Especially with a little altcoin mining, you should be able to break even on these fairly easily/quickly.

I have 54 blades for sale.  I know I have the original boxes for 48 of them, but I need to check on the rest.  Each unit includes all 3 components of the blade, the angled power connector, and a bare-wire PCI-E adapter to connect a standard ATX PSU if desired.

Shipping will be from Idaho, USA.

There are two things that will trip a breaker, one is a short circuit, the other is heat. (Electricians correct me if I'm wrong here.)

For a regular breaker, the only thing that will trip it is heat (and a short circuit will quickly heat up the bi-metal in the breaker).

The exception to this are RCD breakers (commonly called GFCI breakers in the US).
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's time for a Bitcoin hodlday... on: February 09, 2014, 05:53:35 AM
have now found it and am still facepalming myself at the immaturity.

years ago bitcoin use to have smart people coding and smart investors investing... it appears that the teenagers are taking over the community...

i think too much immaturity is the main cause of most of this FUD being spread and the misinterpretation of facts which the media then pulicise without researching.

maybe its time for me to go on a bitcoin holiday and wait a few years for these teenagers to grow up.

Someone on the forums accidentally spelled "hold" as "hodl" in a serious advice post.  It was in huge red bold letters, so it was even more hilarious.  It stuck, and it was quite funny.

You're taking this one too far.  Get a sense of humor.

Also, what is "pulicise"?   Tongue
19  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: COINBASE RIPPED ME OFF $80k. *WARNING WARNING WARNING* on: December 30, 2013, 07:11:49 AM
Smaller customers normally do not get ripped off as they are the bait for the big fish, do not forget that.    Every time one of these sites gets hot the owners get greedy and since there are way more fish then whales the GOOD comes out with only 1/100th  of the people being scammed then outed.

Hrmm...  While I see what you're saying, I'd likely be considered "big fish" on Coinbase and haven't had any issues at all.

What are the pros/cons of declaring customs if shipping to the united states?

+1.  Anyone have an answer to this?
