If mining does not work for you on your pool, then find another pool.

If mining does not work for you on your pool, then find another pool. This coin has problems with many pools and there is not a large selection of pools, so it is better to try setting up mining on 2miners.com

The BTG Pool on miningpoolhub is dead, no hashrate and no block found in the last 24 Days. Look for another pool if you want to mine BTG.

Thank you both for the information.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / MiningPoolHub No Support on: August 23, 2023, 07:24:31 AM
Hello everyone,

Since MiningPoolHub is not responding to emails or anything else online, maybe we could help each other here.

I have been trying to mine BTG by following directions on this page: https://bitcoin-gold.miningpoolhub.com

My machine gets ‘unknown host’ errors and cannot connect despite multiple attempts/combinations. I was able to mine BTG on MPH 11 months ago. MiningPoolHub has had issues after the ETH merge and continues to have ETH withdraw issues as well as other issues with no support.

Anyone know what to do or what’s going on?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus B250 PCIe Slot Detection on: June 27, 2021, 03:17:46 AM
The motherboard chipset has pcie lanes as well. The B250 has 12 lanes.

In total, I am stuck with 14 NVIDIA GTX 1070 GPUs. It seems the recommended configuration by Asus is the only way to max this board. I am going to eventually try with AMD drivers and AMD GPUs if this hasn't been tested already. I want to see if there is a way to work around Asus's recommended GPU configuration.

If your BIOS is out of date it can locked the door to more GPU supports through PCie slots, I've encountered this several times on third gen CPU/motherboard and 4th gen CPU/motherboard

I've checked for a BIOS update, currently running the latest.

The suggested numbers from ASUS website has only 3 configurations for the cards to reach the maximum number.Probably it is not updated but it is a good start to have a look there. The processor of that motherboard is an intel and as far as I know it supports up to gen 9 processor for the LGA 1151.The maximum you will go with a single vendor i.e only NVIDIA is 16 graphic cards because of the best processor i9 9900 supports 16 PCIEx lanes max.

Here is the link the official faq from ASUS : https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1034921

I'm curious how Asus was able to get 19 cards to work if most Intel processors only support up to 16 PCIe lanes? If using a variety of vendors is supposed to work, the initial question still remains, how/why? I'm thinking this is due to the special AMD driver? Maybe if I buy AMD cards this AMD driver may allow more than 14 GPUs to work?

As for using other processors, this motherboard uses an Intel® B250 Chipset.
Supported processors are stated here: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/All-series/B250-MINING-EXPERT/ using the Intel LGA1151 package.

Another concern about using the recommended variety of NVIDIA GPUs is that they are becoming obsolete relative to the DAG file for Ethereum mining.
My current processor has a maximum of 16 PCIe lanes: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/97123/intel-core-i5-7500-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-80-ghz.html
Although I can only utilize 14 NVIDIA GPUs. I assume the remaining lanes are being used by the gigabit LAN port and something else, not exactly sure.

Could a PCIe switch help with my issue?
https://ebay.us/gTIdqc
https://ebay.us/NUguYU
Consequently, I understand how using a shared PCIe slot can decrease throughput.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Asus B250 PCIe Slot Detection on: June 26, 2021, 12:52:58 AM
For anyone wondering about the PCIe slots on this motherboard, have you tried using a newer processor which supports more PCIe lanes if you have reached a limit? I have found a limit of 14 GTX 1070's with an INTEL I5-7500. Curious if upgrading to a new CPU would help?

I've also noticed how this motherboard will not boot at all (also with a black screen) if there are more than 14 GPUs connected to the PCIe slots.

Ever tried a newer processor which can support more PCIe lanes?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASUS B250 Mining Expert MB - 19 Cards! on: June 25, 2021, 11:50:17 PM
Have you tried upgrading the CPU to a newer one? Newer CPUs which support more PCIe lanes may help.

I am having a problem with only 14 GTX 1070s being detected with an i5 processor. I guess a newer processor may help with this issue.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Rig - has anyone run 19 GPU's on the new ASUS b250? on: June 25, 2021, 11:27:44 PM
Hey,

Surprised to see that nobody has responded here. I have just reached a maximum of 14 GPUs all of them are GTX 1070s. I know how the manual recommends a certain combination of GPUs but those cards will become obsolete soon.

I have contacted Asus and it seems a workaround is utilizing a CPU which can support more PCIe lanes. I could be wrong since there may be a motherboard limitation although I am not certain of this. I also came here to BitcoinTalk to see if anyone else had addressed the same concern about this motherboard but have not found anything as of yet.

I will try using a newer processor to see if this allows me to use more than 14 GPUs. If you have discovered any information regarding this since you posted, I'd be glad to know!

Mining Rig:
  • PSU: Corsair RM1000i (1000W)
  • Mobo: B450 Tomahawk MAX
  • Processor: Athlon 3000G
  • Storage: A400 240GB SSD
  • GPUs:
    4 × Strix 3070@123W
    Core Clock +0
    Mem Clock +1200

    1 × Strix 3060 Ti@125W
    Core Clock -502
    Mem Clock +1200
  • Other: 5 SATA powered risers
  • RAM: 2 × 8GB
  • OS: Windows 10 20H2 (latest)
  • Mining Software: T-Rex 0.19.11

When it happens, the GPU fans continue spinning but not generating as much heat as when they are mining. The RGBs are also still present although nothing is responsive (i.e. mouse/keyboard are unable to wake up visual output).

I want to disconnect this rig from my monitor and let it run by itself - but it keeps freezing and I don't know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
An increase in virtual memory seems to have helped. Maybe try increasing VM and see what happens after a few days. That's what I'm currently doing. If the machine behaves normally for more than 2 or 3 days, I'd say it's safe to assume VM. Could use HWinfo64  Cool
Update: It's been well over 3 days as of now and the machine runs better. Although I have noticed insufficient virtual memory within Event Viewer due to the ETH DAG size continually growing.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig freezes every 2-3 days on: March 05, 2021, 11:00:42 AM
Just want to mention as a side note before getting into details. Virtual Memory settings on Windows may help. For ETH I've noticed VM size needs adjusted according to this formula:
Initial VM size = DAG size x Quantity of GPUs
Maximum VM size = Projected DAG size x Quantity of GPUs + Extra VM

In regards to the OP, I have been experiencing a similar issue described here: https://www.reddit.com/r/gpumining/comments/80r6j6/does_anyone_elses_windows_10_start_lagging/ Saw how the Reddit user Reed1981 mentioned using the "ethi" command for Claymore's dual Ethereum miner. This command adjusts the mining intensity, it's scale is from 0 - 8. Default is 8.

Although, I have been mining ETH with Ethminer through miningpoolhub.com. So I searched for a parameter list of Ethminer here: https://gist.github.com/jkcdarunday/e89dde8fa71e510596f45480c5529376
Noticed talk regarding OpenCL (Open Computing Language) configurations here: https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/comment/31821/#Comment_31821

So far, I've adjusted:
--cl-local-work 64 (down from 128)
&
--cl-global-work 524288 (8192 * 64)

The default is 8192 that I found within the Ethminer parameter list.
--cl-local-work best operates with powers of 2 so I just scaled down one increment.

So far I will adjust these values if my rig continues its current issue. You may be able to attempt changing such values with T-Rex although I am not familiar with T-Rex.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining Pool Hub Ethash Issues on: November 06, 2020, 10:59:40 PM
Hello everyone,

If anyone here is mining on Mining Pool Hub, are you having issues mining the Ethash algorithm? When I try to mine in any of their Ethash pools, the miners usually close within a few seconds. I am not sure what the issue is after checking many settings within Awesome Miner.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: September 18, 2019, 02:55:57 PM
Having difficulty mining here.

When mining on the ethereum classic pool with port 20556, miner always gets an accepted and rejected share at the same time. I am unsure why this is happening and port 20555 does not work for me.

Anyone out there with some advice?
